Koji emitted a low grumble, nostrils flared when he caught the sent of something in the cave he did not recognized. “Easy boy,” the man mumbled to the canine, a hand tapped the canine’s side.[break][break]

He listened to what the gym leader said, giving him a firm nod. “Understood. It seems rockets and strange pokemon have been causing us more trouble than we bargained for.” That was an understatement to say the least. Maverick could already feel the fatigue weight him down. Both him and his pokemon were out of energy, but there was no rest for the weary here. “Assuming you have already spotted them, lead the way.”

Although it wasn’t uncommon to run across someone who knew the common knowledge of an arcanine’s speed, it was rather peculiar to come across someone who admitted that they didn’t have a pokemon who could keep up with it. And for this, Maverick’s respect meator for this gym leader as already began to climb. Not that any one cared what he thought of them, but still.[break][break]

Upon the gym leader recalling his pokemon, he summoned two more pokemon instead and leaped onto one of them without much time tow waste. Maverick’s brow rose in curiosity, never has he seen one of these dragons in person let along rode on one. Of course, his attention was shifted when the gym leader spoke about what needs to be done. His crimson colored orbs even peered into the cave to see said light the man spoke of. “Alright. Let’s get this done.”[break][break]

Leaping off his shadow hisui pokemon and recalling him back into his sphere, the burnt scarred man approached the unmanned Cyclizar. Much like riding a motorcycle, the ex gym leader sat down onto the back of the dragon and reached for what looked like handles. And just as his butt his the back of the creature, the Cyclizar took off after its human in a furry of speed.[break][break]

The sudden burst of speed almost made the man shout, grabbing harder onto the creature and forcing his lips shout to not make a fool of himself. And despite the initial jump scare, Maverick could feel the Adeline rush as they raced into the cave of darkness and the light became closer and closer faster than he could have ever imagine. He had to get one of these at some point. After all, it was a dragon.

The pair rode down the somewhat narrow path at each others heels. The darkness of the cave on top of the motion of moving forward without moving his lets felt surreal. Yet as each second went by, the pair inched closer and closer to their destination. And although Maverick had rid onto of many of his pokemon, this one felt different. It made him feel more alive, if that was even possible.[break][break]

The dark haired man spoke, drawling Maverick’s attention away from the ride to the reason they were here. His crimson colored orbs flickered to him, giving him a firm nod. “Got it,” he mumbled, eyes on the path for a moment, “They seem very useful in these types of situations.” Right. He needed to remember this. Breaking Swipes. It seemed strange that he didn’t need to get off for them to fight. But alas, what does he know?[break][break]

A stiff chuckled escaped him, forgetting that he was right. They didn’t even share their names to each other. His mom would have a fit. Yet, it was the fatigue of battling and chasing none stop that had him forget these such things. “Maverick… Maverick Ryder,” the man introduced himself. It has been a while sense he had to give an introduction. His years of being a gym leader on hoenn has wiped his name clean. No longer did he get recognized.

Maverick would listen to what Josh had to say about these pokemon known as Cyclizar. Peaking the burnt scarred man interested the more he spoke so highly of them. And come to find out, Josh was the type of man that specialized in ride pokemon. Pokemon who are able to be ridable for humans. The man also learned that he didn’t just own two of them, he had a bunch. Part of him wanted to ask if he would be willing to trade one to him. Yet, Maverick remembered that he had a bunch of houndoom and would be upset if he was asked to trade one of them away. So instead, he gave Josh a silent nod in acknowledgment of what he said.[break][break]

With introductions out of the way, it was time to get down to business. A simple command from Josh made the already worn down Cyclizar spring into action. Maverick held on for his life, expression remained still though a bog old smile was in his head.[break][break]

The dragon type motorcycle he was riding followed after the other, both in speed and action. Maverick had to hold his mouth shut while it preformed a wheelie, the air buzzing in the mans ears before it quick attacked like the other one. But unlike before, Maverick couldn’t hold back a “Oh Shit” from escaping him as they finally confronted the rocket team. He was luckily he hasn’t eaten anything all day. Surely, he would have thrown up from the all movement if he had.
