It wasn't the man's begging for his life that made her pause. It was her own recounting of her own situations going on at the present moment that made her stop and think.[break][break]

Cillian Quinn didn't know, and Rocket didn't know, but her child was slowly growing in her belly. She wasn't far along at all, but what would that child say in the future, knowing his or her mother murdered someone?[break][break]

A shot cracks across the mountainside, echoing in the open space, but the cowering man's life persists. Cillian's Aerodactyl snarls as the misfired shot comes dangerously close, though the predator folds its wings in time.

The man's pleas become louder, more frantic and desperate as the full gravity of a near-death experience horrifies him.
[break][break]

Scowling, Cillian steps up beside Summer Atreides and holds his hand out for the gun.
[break][break]

When relinquished, he turns to his target and, with a steady aim, succeeds where the executive had failed. His ears ring in the aftermath, and his Aerodactyl is recalled before it can sink its teeth into prey.

Blood soaks the cracked earth at their feet.
[break][break]

"What the hell was that?"

Cillian holsters the gun, turning to Summer with narrowed eyes.
