WHETHER IT WAS DISPLACED BENEATH LITTLEROOT DUE TO DIMENSIONAL ENTANGLEMENT, BROUGHT BACK TO FUNCTIONING ORDER DUE TO DIALGA, OR BOTH, can not be determined. However, this kingdom made entirely out of intricate mechanisms is void of human life. Clockwork gears, iron tunnels, and curious domes make up this kingdom that continues to function like an animatronic music box.[break][break]

Mechanical Pokemon like Magearna, Volcanion and others present in the kingdom seem to be robotic, set to a rhythm or programming like an animatronic figure.[break][break]

Several clock towers loom above the entire kingdom, though their machinery seems to be in disrepair.

the last time she was here, it's because she fell through a hole. and the last time she was here, everything went to shit pretty fast. some other, smarter women were able to create a fucking arbalest out of nothing and scare a giant corviknight away from them. amulius punched it real good.

so you'd think, after one small taste of her own incompetence in the grand scheme of this ass-fuckery, she would have avoided this place, come hell or high water.

too bad she's a fucking sucker.

she's even taking notes. they're in some weird, fucked up castle and she's taking notes, and she's fairly certain one of hoenn's elite four has joined them on this mission (no, she absolutely, positively knows, because who the fuck doesn't know melody miro?) ((and she likes her music, okayyyy??))

After all the crazy shit he'd seen in The Border, this kingdom laden with clocks, castles, and mechanical Pokémon was somehow weirder.[break][break]
Melody Miro had wanted to come here. Melody, who'd somehow managed to wrap him around her little finger after only one training session, her radiant, angelic smile like the sun coming out from behind a cloud after five days of rain and dammit, he liked sun, sun was nice. So he'd grinned at her, confidently, like he knew what he was doing, and said, "yeah, let's do it."[break][break]
The first sucker bumped into the second, and he turned to face her, still not entirely sure why parker jones was even here.[break][break]
"Who do you work for again?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her clumsy footing. Then he noticed what was actually beneath her feet, and frowned. "Aw hell, are those bones?"[break][break]
Something that wasn't the sound of gears crunching against one another was growing louder...something that sounded more like actual music, haunting and ethereal. Was that what Melody was looking for? Some kind of music box or something? Guess they better find the source of it.

"Oh yeah. Becareful of those." she warns as she scratches the back of her head. "There's uh...a lot of bones in the castle...I think those mechanical pokemon put them all here for clean up.." [break][break]

She had put together a rag tag group of people, Jett Roan and Caleb Harcourt she knew already so there was no need to really stare at them too closely. But she was interested in parker jones, a girl who seemed to be the same age as her but...a lot taller and muscular. She pulls up on of the long pieces of fabric on the clothing of her sygnasuit to make sure it didn't drag against anything. [break][break]

"Make sure you keep an ear out for music or for any kind of mechanical pokemon. They'll probably alert the rest of the group if they see us coming." she said as her chatot stood on the top of her head, ready to start blasting out some noise to mask the song. "Apparently from what my previous group was able to ascertain, they were taking out people's souls and trying to place them into machines...I guess this is where the bodies all went."

Jett paid close attention, after the little trip here he’d had with Melody, he found himself interested in this strange realm. A distraction perhaps, but it was still something he needed to put some focus on. It felt…Wrong, and yet he as if he had to find out just why it was bringing forward such a guttural feeling.

But he shook his head, to pay attention to the castle which surrounded them, his blue eyes scanned over the ground, at the bones, and other things he didn’t want to think too much about. ”Sure is grim though, no matter what they were tryna draw up. I wonder, if they’re still trying that now?”

He watched from the back of the group, his hands firmly placed into his pockets as he slowed down his pace some; as his foot made contact with the skull of some ape-like pokemon, he couldn’t tell which, but it was small. ”Were they tryna take pokemon souls as well? Or you think they were just collateral?” Jett asked as he leaned down to hold a head, only for the thumping of a beat to grow louder, and louder.

It was different, similar to the last time as he felt it trying to invade his body, there was a need, a need to move, a need to groove, a nee-

"the expeditions are open sign-ups," she says back, with narrowed eyes. she pulls away from caleb and shoves off by herself, listening to melody's warnings. some of that info gets jotted down in her notebook because that's probably super useful to know, right?

pokemon stealing souls to put in machines.

the music sucks.

it really does. it's nothing like melody's music. she'd be more than happy to shove her headphones in to get the grating noise out of her head, but that doesn't seem like a very good team player move. and if melody wants to drop more information, well, she can't complain.

"Definitely fucked," Caleb found himself agreeing with parker jones. "And to what end? Why put souls into machines?" As soon as he asked the question, however, an answer occurred to him: to give them free will, a way to be truly alive. A shiver ran down his spine at the thought.[break][break]
The music was getting louder, filling the chamber. It was repetitive and vaguely familiar, like the sort of thing you might hear when you're put on hold. Caleb felt his apprehension regarding the bones fade away as he listened intently to the music...in fact, any anxieties he'd had coming into the expedition simply...melting away. He felt calm and at peace, encouraged to let his guard down. The prospect of soul-bound machinery seemed suddenly unimportant, trivial, not a train of thought worth pursuing.[break][break]
A shuffling sound could be heard just outside the door to the room they were investigating.[break][break]
"I think something's coming," he observed, half-distracted by the sense of peace washing over him, his usual instincts slow to kick in.

"It could, you havent seen the worst of it" she answers to jett's question of if this place could get any worse. Suddenly she heard music and her neck snapped to look behind her, immediately noticing Jett Roan's position. [break][break]

"Crap!" she says as she moves to grab a pokeball, her sygnasuit buying her extra time before she fell victim to it's chants but then suddenly as soon as she was about to throw it, her body freezes. "No no NO!" she screams in resistance as Melody begins to dance to the song. A clanging of metal grows louder and louder to accompany the song as several soulless volcanion appear and Melody panics. [break][break]

Her chatot began to dance too but melody knew that he could still sing "Ohhh plug your ears if you can guys. Iago! Chatter!" she says as chatot giggles a bit before taking in a deep breath and begins to mimic melody's voice perfectly and begins to sing one of her songs. The music becomes dampened and the volcanion guards grow confused. Once melody is freed she joins the bird in song, trying to resist using the songs she had learned before as they made her extremely tired.

The beat of a drum that didn’t make sense, flowed to a different tune to that of his body, and forced both body and mind to move alongside it. His brain went numb, empty, blank, even though he could see, smell, hear, there was nothing beyond the point of processing…There was only rhythm. The Dance.

There was a marching, yet he couldn’t pay attention to it, as his limbs were locked, and then popped in order to relieve the tension…No, it wasn’t a simple tension, his legs spread apart, arms spread wide, as he poorly attempted what his body believed to be break dancing. and then everyone just starts...dancing. the notebook slips free from parker's grasp. she spins wildly on her heels, scowl on her face, and amulius looks down at her with complete disbelief. the rest of her companions are caught under the influence as well, until e4 superstar melody drags them out of it.

parker's quick to do as she's told and shoves her fingers in her ear to block out the sound. amulius looks up, and then past her, following jett's gaze.

red-armored pokemon stand as sentinels at the far end of the room. though they're not as humongous as the corviknight that had first terrorized her here, they certainly don't look any friendlier.

amulius cracks his knuckles and then leaps into the fray.

Caleb somehow managed to release Lyra before jamming his fingers into his ears. The Lapras cocked her head at him, and he nodded in the direction of the creepy Volcanion sentinels that had entered the room. "Get rid of them," he requested of her, his voice sounding muffled. Had the music stopped? Better to wait until Melody deemed it safe.[break][break]
Lyra turned to face the empty-eyed, somewhat robotic creatures, then released a powerful torrent of HYDRO PUMP at them. The wave of water hissed and steamed as it made contact with the Volcanion, their flesh heated from within. The water did absolutely nothing to deter them, however, and they continued to stalk forward, seemingly intent on capturing Caleb and his companions (or worse...)[break][break]
"Immune to water? Aren't they fire types?" He mused to nobody in particular, realizing - not for the first time - that he ought to have done some preliminary research on the Pokémon found in this crazy place prior to blindly following Melody into it. Not necessarily his best look as a Ranger...[break][break]
Well, it was easy enough to remedy. Activating the mega accessory attached to his wrist, Caleb watched as Lyra grew three times in size, transforming into her mega-evolved form. Sure, they might be outnumbered, but now his Lapras was huge.[break][break]
As if to prove to her adversaries that she wasn't about to give up the fight, Lyra bellowed loudly and shot a DRAGON PULSE at one of them.[break][break]
This time, her attack was far more effective.

Melody's chatter manages to assist the group in regaining autonomy over their bodies. She reacts quickly and has to fight off the volcanion guards with the group. The room becomes sealed off and it seems like theirs a mechanical puzzle involving the bodies of klink that had since rusted and passed away. "Shit! It seems like we're trapped for now! We need to solve the puzzle before it'll stop!" she says "I'll hold them off one of you figure it out!" she calls out as Melody decides to show the group exactly why she was an elite 4 as she takes a deep breath. [break][break]

She recalls her chatot as she takes over the singing to disrupt the song and grabs a different pokeball. She begins to sing a recent song she had included in her latest album. She plays an instrumental version of the song as she sings live [Break][break]

The volcanion guards charge her, maybe left over resentment from Meloetta for showing her up on her stage? Didn't matter, she grabs her pokeball and sends out one of her loyal companions "Puss in boots!" she shouts as Meowscarada emerges from her pokeball "Let's show these guests what happens when they rush the stage! Flower trick!" she orders as Meowscarada winks, before using acrobatics to get up above them all, leaping from gear on the wall to gear on the wall before she jumps over the group and creates several spotlights as FLOWER BOMBS descend upon the volcanions and explode upon contact creating pollen bombs that obscured their vision.

Jett couldn’t quite see a way out even in this place, they were trapped; these guys were immune to water, and he didn’t have any strong electric type pokemon on him, and well, these Volcanion were out. ”We might really be screwed here, at least our skeletons will have company.” He played off that fear with some grim humor, there was a fear there.

But just as the song of this place filled one with despair eventually, a song of hope might arrive too; a singular sign. A puzzle, and a song to distract those creatures, he dashed past them. ”Cover me.” He shouted to his Iron Valiant who trailed behind him, Jett slid forward towards the rusted Klinks.

They were placed all around, he didn’t know how gears could be used in this place but everyone else was battling hard, powerful song, a mega evolution, hot-blooded hand to hand, so he’d handle this. ”It sure is beginning to look like a transmission…Wait.” He stated as he put his hands to it, reordering them with a fair amount of effort, he put them into order, it would shift…Some level of gears.

”Alright…C’mon, c’mon, work…” He said as he placed the last one, they were rusted, and so he gave it a turn; hung onto the gear even as it grated against his finger, and pulled on it until it began to move, puzzle solved, the locked room was no longer sealed.

well, fire clearly isn't going to do much against the volcanion guards. that doesn't really do much to deter amulius. nor parker for that matter. blasts of water and other attacks go over both trainer and pokemon's head, toward their assailant.

and there's parker, pen awkwardly scribbling on the page in a desperate attempt to get some information about the creature. she ends up drawing what looks like a cave with legs and a donut on top of it.

not too bad, really.

the ground rumbles. parker looks over her shoulder to see the humongous body of caleb's mega-evolved lapras.

"'mul, bud. might wanna get outta the way." she shuffles off to the side and amulius, holding the line in close combat with some of the guards, leaps away. bombs of pollen follow shortly behind and parker ducks her face into her arm, running near-blindly towards jett and his puzzle.

"great, cool, good job, let's goooo," she manages through a cough as she runs through the exit.
