Melody pats Jett on the back as he manages to solve the puzzle "Nice!" she says patting him on the back. "You did it- Woah!" she says as she gets pulled along by her meowscarada as Parker and Caleb bolt forward. They try to rush past everything, bones, metal, debris that was occupying their way as more and more volcanion poured into the hallway. [break][break]

All with the goal of capturing them and doing who knows what to them, probably try to turn them into cold and lifeless machines. [break][break]

Eventually they make it onto a balcony and Melody peers over the edge, it was a deep fall, and it seemed like not everyone could make it. She started to weigh her options and she didn't really have a solution that a pokemon could solve. But. she could solve it. "Guys, I'm gonna be out of commission after this so..I need one of you to make sure I get home."

She says as Melody pulls out a small little booklet from her bag and starts to rapidly flip through the pages as the lyrics emerge into her mind and the book starts to glow and the speakers in the kingdom start to follow her will. "Wither and decay, end this destiny." as she seems to enter a trance, allowing something to posses her body. [break][break]

The machines stop in place and stare at her as the music seems to grab a hold of them. "Break these earthly chains and set the spirit free, take what has been hurt, grant them no mercy, bend and break the reigns and set the spirit free." she says as the machines start to cry out as rust begins to eat away at their bodies and they start to fall apart. [break][break]

As the song ends, Melody collapses onto the floor as the machines lay deceased on the floor. She sighs heavily as the song took a great toll on her body and made her extremely tired afterwards. Her meowscarada tries to tend to her as it doesn't understand what just happened.

As they struggled through, only to reach a dead-end balcony, Jett couldn’t help but let loose a loud sigh, he didn’t have a flying type on hand, and it seemed like things going forward might just get tougher. Perhaps Cyclizar could have helped in some capacity…No, he recalled his Iron Valiant, and thought about it, if Melody was going to hold those things off, they had to figure something out.

But an idea did come to him, suddenly; as his hand hovered over Remoraid’s pokeball. ”We don’t gotta fly, we can just create a slide. How about it, a water type move, and someone else uses an Ice-type.” He said as he brought his Remoraid out, the pokemon seemed to catch on pretty fast as Jett pointed him over the balcony, at an angle.

Just as the music behind was getting more intense, it was a tense feeling; his heart was pumping, he felt excitement. And no-one had to get hurt for it…Well, maybe them, and those pokemon, sure it wasn’t all bright.

With the knowledge that there was a path out, they just had to wait just a little bit. He turned around, to watch Melody’s performance, and how it would end. The rusting pokemon didn’t fill him with warmth, but he wouldn’t mourn them. ”Ya sure look tuckered out, well; guess I can help with that.” As if to push aside the thoughts in his mind, he took off his leather jacket.

Countless bike journeys and accidents ran through his mind. ”Don’t wantcha getting hurt.” He said as he gripped both ends of his jacket, and began to spin it in his hands, tightening it while keeping the sleeves loose. He rolled the sleeves around to create a second ring, before tying and tightening them together. It was something that he did while younger, far more broke; and with many a people wanting rides on the back with no experience.

”Bit of a harness, should keep you close to someone else that ain’t tired, seems like a man’s job, but I don’t like jealous and angry fans, so I’ll leave it to ya.” He threw it over to Caleb. ”Hold ‘er close.”

parker's arms pinwheel as she rushes through and onto the balcony. they look like they're very well toast and her hands go to her hips, reaching for pokeballs. but melody fuckin' miro, with the voice of an angel - like, truly, does something to the machine-like pokemon. they corrode. each step is more difficult than the last until finally the rust eats away at them and they crumple into heaps of scrap metal.

"a slip n' slide? sounds dumb. i'm in."

she doesn't have any flying-type pokemon, unless you count faustus, but the bird isn't big enough to carry one person, nevermind the lot of them.

but she does have a water-type. the greninja appears beside them and regards caleb's mega lapras warily. it doesn't look around it, just casts a glance at parker and nods when she asks it to blast a hydro pump off the balcony.

she's also not one to let a guy steal her thunder. and hey, if someone's handing her the opportunity to carry melody miro down and away from danger like a princess, she's not about to turn them down. so while greninja works, she shoulders past caleb and jett and bends down to pick up the thin idol in her arms, bridal style.

"man's job, my ass. i've got more muscle 'an the two of ya combined," she snorts. "but thanks for the harness."

Caleb nearly opened his mouth to protest when parker jones unceremoniously scooped Melody Miro into her arms, but stopped himself. They had bigger fish to fry than squabbling over who got to save the idol's life. Caleb just wanted her to be okay. And anyway, Parker looked like she could crush him between her thighs if she wanted; the last thing he needed was to antagonize a woman like that.[break][break]
"You're the boss," Caleb muttered to Parker, tossing her the harness. Then he patted Lyra on the neck encouragingly.[break][break]
"You heard the plan right? Go ahead and freeze that water."[break][break]
The Mega Lapras opened her mouth, summoning a massive ice beam. The water froze into a solid bridge leading down. Caleb hopped off Lyra's back and returned her to her Pokeball. She would be far too big to ride the makeshift slide, more likely to crack it than anything else.[break][break]
"Hope this works," he sighed, then jumped over the edge of the balcony onto the ice.[break][break]

Jett said with a smirk as he hopped onto the ice bridge that they had made; it was solid, and well, slippery for sure, hopping on it feet first was a great mistake as he slipped onto his ass and found himself sliding down it at a pace he hadn’t expected to, there was no way for him to get a good grip, and it was only years of knowledge regarding balance and momentum that stopped him from sliding off the side and falling to a rather pitiful death.

But he did find himself sliding down at a pace, until they reached the very bottom where he found himself going right until he crashed unceremoniously into a large boulder, upside down and balancing on his shoulders, his glasses skewed just a little bit.

It was a good thing he wasn’t the one carrying Melody. He got up, dusted himself off, and adjusted his sunglasses, a short, shallow cough as if to pass off that moment as if it had never happened. ”Aye, all’s done now. Let’s head off.” It was a strange place, and he found himself ever more curious.
