Shion crashes through waves beneath her and reduces them to nothing in her wake. The raw power of a dragon is a sight to behold. And riding atop her, a sight that few should see, is a human. A young girl, standing with arms crossed, watching the horizon, unbothered by the tremendous power beneath her feet. [break][break]

It is almost impossible that a dragon would allow anyone to ride them. The respect that she must foster in order to do so must be astronomical. That, or their hearts must be one and the same in the end. It's impossible to say just by looking at them, but from her demeanor, from the look in her eye, one can take a guess that the beast favors something wild within her.[break][break]

It is that, and that alone, that gives her the privilege to ride atop its back.[break][break]

"Hang on, there's something there."[break][break]

She directs the pokemon she's riding, but it's already headed in that direction, faster than a speedboat. [break][break]

As if it would listen to commands in the first place. No, it is still a wild beast. Of course not. That it does not hate her very presence does not mean that it is tamed by any means. It goes where it will, does as it pleases. [break][break]

She is very aware of that fact.[break][break]

"A couple of boats, looks like... one's boarding the other?"[break][break]

Her talent for observation doesn't match the detective she shadows day to day, but even so, the scene's clear enough. What the boarding party is carrying doesn't look like supplies meant to help a stranded ship. [break][break]

She narrows her eyes, as the beast spreads its wide fins, ragged as seaweed and broader than a biplane, they are nearly a pair of wings. She takes to the air on the next wave, as her companion stands patiently, awaiting what's to come...[break][break]

The ocean breeze, the salt spray, the connection to water she felt deep in her bones. She had no idea why she thrived so much in it but she didn't need to know. [break][break]

She felt most at home near the water and in this environment, she thrived. So when she heard that there was a disturbance in the ocean due to pirate she had to act. She had found them herself and decided to have some fun with them, her boat comes sailing blasting a new song she had been working. [break][break]

The pirates naturally heard the music and thought that something weird was going on and began to panic when they recognized it was Melody. She grinned delightfully as her primarina and lapras leapt out of the water. "Let's get warmed up vocally guys! Hyper voice, Aria!" she orders as both of her pokemon blast at the pirate trainers. However their pokemon intervene. Sharpedos and carvanhanas. [break][break]

She sighs, of course they had pokemon. [break][break]

This was going to be a bit more difficult than anticipated, but thankfully just over the horizon melody's eyes spotted a boat approaching, were they friend or foe?

The pokemon takes to the skies, bouncing off of the waves and taking flight. She is the apex, a master of nature, something that courses with raw power. There isn't a question that the air, just as the waves, are her very domain. It doesn't matter where she is, because she is a dragon, the lord of all it sees.[break][break]

"Disable the pirates, Shion!"[break][break]

Words leave the lips of her rider, but the beam in the dragon's mouth is already charging.[break][break]

Their minds are as one. That synchronous desire for destruction is all that endears them to one another. There is no question of obedience, for if they disagreed, the result would be the same.[break][break]

This dragon would still unleash raw, destructive might upon all it saw.[break][break]

A Hydro Cannon rips apart the sea beneath them. The world's sharpest blade, soft and formless. It is like a gigantic sword struck apart and parted the sea, cleaving the ship in half along with its surroundings.[break][break]

And then, they're there already. A young girl, standing atop a dragon.[break][break]

"Heard there's trouble! Name's Tsubaki, here to help!"[break][break]

She shouts it out with a broad smile on her face. Only then, with her introduction finished, does the ocean split apart begin to rain down around them like bullets. It's an elegant entrance, raw destruction in its purest form turned to something beautiful.[break][break]

Something begins to descend from the skies, as if it had bounced into the air with great force, it was a young girl and her powerful dragalge. A hydro canon rips apart the sea, sending it scattering and alongisde the sea the pirates fly up into the air to which melody doesn't delay and follows up [break][break]

She doesn't even instruct her primarina, the pokemon already knowing Melody well enough to follow her desires. Primarina opens her mouth, unleashing a wind of frost that starts to freeze them in mid air alongside the sea spray as the icicles that grow on the pirates begin to limit their movement slightly. [break][break]

"Nice assist. My name's Melody Miro, Elite 4." she says introducing herself as a hand with a ring clears the hair that was in her face. She had it from the goodbye galar, remembering little to nothing except for some key things. Among those forgotten things, how she had already met tsubaki. [break][break]

Some of the other pirates who were able to dodge the initial attack try to jump melody while she was distracted, however her pokemon were with here and among those pokemon. [break][break]

Water erupts from underneath them a wailord causing an explosion using water spout to consume them all as she crouches down on her boat and rubs his back "Nice one bud."

Her eyes are filled with the recognition of an old friend. Of a life long lost to her. A different world, still fleeting as a dream, but her memories are still so clear...[break][break]

Melody Miro.[break][break]

Her lips mouth the name as the woman gives voice to it. She already knows.[break][break]

"Of course, it's you."[break][break]

She smiles serenely for a moment, soaking in a sight for sore eyes.[break][break]

But she gives pause.[break][break]

Something's not right. The woman doesn't recognize her.[break][break]

She stops herself, recollects her dignity, and soon she's the same distant girl ethereal and removed from this world. An icy demeanor, a beautiful rose with thorns. The facade, the barrier, it finds its way back. [break][break]

"... You're famous 'round here, right? How couldn't I? Miss Melody Miro, famous pop star and trainer extraordinaire. Living your best life out here on the sea, aren't you?"[break][break]

She hides the pain in her voice the best she can, but some of it leaks through with that final comment. She steps casually from her floating dragon onto the boat. [break][break]

It takes that cue as permission to cut loose, letting out a cry that carries for miles as it turns on the pirates still in the water. They toss out their pokemon, a sharpedo and an arrocuda. [break][break]

But Tsubaki's gaze remains transfixed on the girl with pink hair that glitters in the sunlight... [break][break]

She stares at her strangely what was with that gaze? It was weird for someone who had just met her to hold such an expression especially when she talks about how she recognized melody. [break][break]

"Yup! That's me!" she confirms as Melody watches the dragalge scurry off to deal with the rest of the pirates. There was a familiar sensation coming from Tsubaki. However all of memories as far as she knew had returned to her thanks to 's cure, even told her that all he memories should be back. [break][break]

So why did she feel sad when saw her? Misplaced emotions? it didn't help to dwell on it. "Tsubaki right? You have some pretty nice pokemon. I can tell you take good care of them." she says as she tries to steer the conversation a bit and give them something to fill the awkward silence

Those people might drown or get too hurt!" she shouts suddenly as she springs into action and throws her Pyukumuku into the water and the little Sea cucumber starts to get to work "Purify!" she orders as Melody's pyukumuku starts to suck up all the poison in the water to try and save the pirates from an early death. They'd still go to jail, after all. [break][break]

"Yes. They are a reflection of your heart. So what's in yours if that was your decision on how to deal with them?"

Absolutely nothing, save a quest for revenge that poisons her still.[break][break]

The sea bleeds with malice and cries out. Melody's Pyukumuku abates the worst of the poison, but not everything. They'll live, but be left with scars all over their bodies. Just like in ancient times, when criminals would be tattooed for their transgressions.[break][break]

"I didn't give the order, you know." She responds with a haughty deflection of blame, seemingly annoyed by the girl's bleeding heart. "I simply didn't tell her to stop. And what hope do I have, to stop a dragon?"[break][break]

Rather, she didn't care to in the first place. [break][break]

"This is a world where the strong prey on the weak. It's simply giving back what's due. Call it karma, if you like. A mercy, for the kind of people who'll never change, people like you and me who slipped through the cracks, who were never given a second chance."[break][break]

Her empty eyes glimmer with pain, a distinct sadness black as the void as she looks up from the sea to meet Melody's eyes. [break][break]

What the hell? What was wrong with this girl? She was so friendly at first and now her eyes...empty. [break][break]

Melody frowns "Never given a second chance? What are you talking about?!" she shouts in frustration, she had no idea what it was that this girl was on about "Just because someone hurt you in the past means you get do treat others however you want?! Give me a break! Sitting there and letting something bad to others is just as bad as doing it yourself!" her anger bubbles to the surface. [break][break]

This girl was clearly a threat, who knew who her next victim would be if this girl was allowed to roam freely. "I'm invoking my authority as a member of the league's Elite 4. You're coming with me, are you gonna come quietly or-" she says as her face turns stern, she became a lot more serious. [break][break]

"Am I going to have to get ugly?" she says as one of her hands moves behind her and she grips something in her pocket.

She gives a sigh of relief and drops the hand that was reaching for a pokeball. "Don't worry. I will make sure you get treated fairly. I promise." she says as Melody could see she was troubled. [break][break]

However as Melody walked forward to start driving the boat away, mentions that her Pokémon is going to disagree and try to stop her. The outrage is intense, Melody could feel the intense power behind the attack.[break][break]

However Melody prepares for battle, "Primarina! Spotlight!" she orders as suddenly the pokemon's illumina bursts and the spotlight shines onto a new target and the outrage starts to rush towards the water, the new target. [break][break]

Pyukumuku. "Sorry pookey!" she calls out as she apologies for her the redirection. The outrage knocks it out in one hit and it's ability activates Pyukumuku rumbles a bit as unleashes it's guts upon the poison dragon and deals a great deal of damage to it. "Where is it's pokeball?!" she says as they had only a precious few moments before the creature came back.

[attr="class","star2tsu"]Shion's Outrage is nullified by Primarina. The Pyukumuku's guts spill out. They wrap around Shion like a giant hand, squeezing her tight. Almost, for a brief moment, it looks like the chaos has come to an end before it's even had a chance to begin.[break][break]

Tsubaki keeps her hands raised as a show of submission. [break][break]

All the familiarity she's shared with this woman stripped away by a mere glance, she can't tell what's running through her head. Melody sees her as a threat, but she expects her to cooperate. Melody's arresting her, but she's asking for her help. Mixed signals. It doesn't make sense. Wasn't she already helping when she got put under arrest?[break][break]

"I... don't know if I want to lower my hands."[break][break]

She says it, but it's clear by her expression that she wishes she hadn't. She almost carries an expression of mourning. This is her first meeting with the woman in this world. And now, having had that first impression spoiled by this woman being so eager to arrest her, she must admit that she can't trust her anymore. Or, rather, the trust she shared in another life is gone, and this version of Melody is someone she cannot trust at all. [break][break]

If she's asking her to reach for her belt, there's a chance she could spin that as a sign of aggression, resisting arrest. That is how these things go.[break][break]

"I know you don't trust me. Can't take risks with a cop, Navy'd kill me, but...the ball is on my belt, last one on the left."[break][break]

Shion grumbles, an ear-splitting whine like a Wailord's. [break][break]

The poison seeping from her body makes it harder for the Pyukumuku's grasp to hold. It burns flesh and makes her slippery at the same time. And yet, it's the docile disposition her Master holds that causes her to snap. She's enraged, at her master, at the woman making her hold this pose obediently. At the sea, that isn't yet dyed black melting everything in sight. [break][break]

She's confused, half-fatigued. Why isn't this girl fighting? She always fights, no matter what. That's the very reason they follow one another.[break][break]

With a roar, a beam of water like an enormous sword hits the surface, parting the sea in two under the tremendous pressure of its jet. Shion releases a Hydro Cannon meant to cut the boat both of them are on in half, all in the span of a fraction of a second. Cutting along its surface and upward toward the hill, it's as if she aims to cut heaven in two. [break][break]

There is nothing else she might do.[break][break]

Melody's stunned at the mention of Navy as she pauses and starts to connect the dots.[break][break]

"Wait, huh?!" she says as Melody realizes who this girl is, it's the girl had mentioned on mt.pyre all this time ago. She didn't get much time to really comment on it as suddenly the pokemon's attack rushes towards the pair of them and threatens to sink the ship in one fell swoop, Primarina was too slow to stop them after the spotlight had ended and her dragalge was quick to the draw meant this shipw as going down soon. [break][break]

Meloetta intervenes, the pokemon descends from the skies and stands in the path of the attack as it uses RELIC SONG to blast the attack, part of the attack still gets through and harms meloetta but the damage was greatly mitigated. Melody breathed a sigh of relief "Jesus christ where the hell did you find this thing?!" she asks tsubaki as Melody starts to focus onto the dragon type as meloetta begins to shift thanks to the relic song's effects "Acrobatics!" she says as meloetta seemingly leaps off of thin air platforms and tries to descend onto the dragalge with a swift kick
