Revival Blessing was indeed a potent move - but apart from its limited usage, it was no more effective than a Revive; it wasn't a complete restoration.

The Slowbro did its best to tank the attacks coming for it, managing to take the Thunderbolt reasonably well. It was the Phantom Force that truly caught it off guard, striking it from behind - and the Slowbro's limit once more reached.

Hit the ground (water) once more, at its usual slow pace. This time, the water seemed to rise around it, surrounding it and carrying it back to Hideo, where it disappeared.

A dramatic cover for recalling the KO'd Pokemon back into its ball.

Contrary to what Aaron might believe, the Rabsca's focus wasn't on the Magnezone - it was on the Trevenant. Another Bug Buzz was fired off, this one aimed for the Trevenant again.

The referee called the 'Bro down. Good, that was one. But instead of finishing off Magnezone, Hideo had Rabsca use Bug Buzz on Trevenant, forcing him back and damaging the tree's arm. Still far from out of commission, but it did hurt. Even with Ingrain and Leech Seed mitigating that damage. In response, Trevenant's free arm created a large, wooden mallet that was glowing green. His most powerful move, Wood Hammer. The tree spun and swung it horizontally, hoping to smack the little creature towards Magnezone from behind/side. It would cause some recoil, but the tree was still in the fight.

The trouble was Magnezone. What move to use? Ace decided on a risky play. If it hit, it would likely garuntee him the win. If it didn't, it would be a war of attrition...sort of. "Zap Cannon!" The giant magnet formed the lightning ball in front of it, then fired. It had only a fifty-fifty chance of hitting, but it was Magnezone's strongest electric attack, and garunteed a paralysis. If it hit. A very big if. The biggest reason he taught it Lock-On.

The Wood Hammer came hard and fast, and the small Rabsca took the hit better than her size would indicate. It wasn't a very effective attack, but it was clear damage was done, the Rabsca unsteadily keeping her sphere up in the air; the Leech Seed launched at the beginning had made good progress on sapping her strength.

But it wasn't all gone. Not yet.

"Orby, move to the side!" Hideo shouted, the Rabsca sidestepping the incoming Zap Cannon. No shocking for her this time.

And she wasn't going to let that attempt go without retaliation: the ground beneath the Magnezone would soon erupt again, another Earth Power aimed for it. She was gonna make sure she could take down at least one of them.

The Wood Hammer! But the setup wasn't enough, and the Rabsca was able to move out of the way of the Zap Cannon, plowing the metal magnet with an Earth Power. Magnezone was already hit with a Surf attack, so its Sturdy ability wasn't going to save it now. Sliding across the field, the magnet was knocked out. At the call, Aaron returned his faithful friend. Now they were indeed one each. It was time to try to end this quickly, and his ghost had the tools to do it.

"Phantom Force." Trevenant opened a portal and disappeared into it. Between the Leech Seed and Ingrain, it allowed the tree to recover some from his use of Wood Hammer, and get a little more chip damage. But that Rabsca wasn't going to go down without a fight. Trevenant reentered the field from behind the Rabsca, and to the right of it, aiming a backhand low to the ground. It was the Tree's strongest ghost-type attack...Ace half hoped that it would be it, but also wondered if it had a trick up its sleeve to turn the tide again.

The waves briefly swallowed the knocked-out Magnezone - an aesthetic effect matching that one that "swallowed" the Slowbro a moment earlier. It did nothing to stop it from being recalled, though the water seemed to fly along with the Magnezone as it was recalled.

The Rabsca locked eyes with her final opponent, just as it sank beneath the ground (water) with its Phantom Force. There was little she could do other than try to watch for where it emerged from.

Unfortunately, she had no other trick waiting in store; she'd already played the strongest one she'd had. She tried to react the moment she realized the Trevenant emerged, but she wasn't a fast Pokemon.

The Phantom Force struck - and the accumulated drain from the Leech Seed and the strike from the Wood Hammer showed their damage, the Rabsca's body struggling to stay up before landing face-first, the water enveloping her just as the Magnezone had been moments before.

"And so we see who still stands beneath the bridge," Hideo said, a smile on his face. The illusion around them dissipated, bringing them back to reality.

"Well done, Aaron!" Hideo said, a few of the psychic Pokemon maintaining the illusion approaching him. He handed his Pokemons' Pokeballs over to one of them, another advancing towards the Trevenant to give it a Heal Pulse.

A Beheeyem stood by Hideo's side - the one that was almost always with him, following him as he walked towards Aaron. "I'd say you did pretty well! You managed to handle Orby's surprise pretty well! I don't think any other Pokemon could bring back a knocked-out Pokemon like that before Rabsca came around. But before I give you your badge: was there anything you would have wanted to do differently in this battle?"

It was enough. And Aaron breathed a sigh of relief. As did his Tree. The illusion shattered, and there were standing ovations for both trainers. Trevenant gave the encroaching Psychic Pokemon a thankful nod at the use of Heal Pulse. Aaron closed the distance as well. "Every bit of a nailbiter as I expected." That was an interesting surprise. Though half of him felt like Hideo relied too much on that surprise to win.

When they were closer, the younger boy spoke some more, asking him what he would do differently in the battle. It was an easy question to him. "Using Tri Attack or Thunderbolt instead of Zap Cannon at the end. Also maybe having Trevenant get in close with super effective strikes right off hand instead of the lengthy setup I usually have him use. Might have kept Rabsca too occupied to hit Magnezone with an Earth Power, and Magnezone keeping Slowbro too occupied to use a poison type attack on Trevenant. What about you?" That Slowbro may not have used a poison-type attack at all, but the goal for him was to just hit both opponents with powered up Surfs. Not a bad plan to crowd control some...Magnezone may not have resisted it, but Trevenant could. Not that he was too worried, Magnezone was a two hit KO at minimum.

Hideo nodded as Aaron gave an answer.

"It can feel good to use a big move to finish off an opponent, but a more reliable hit with a more accurate move could have more payoff at a critical moment, 'specially after my Rabsca was already drained pretty good by that Leech Seed. That Zap Cannon probably would've knocked her out if it hit, but the miss gave her a chance to knock your own Pokemon out instead."

"And I don't disagree about spreading attention between the Pokemon - or even focusing on the Rabsca at first. Galarian Slowbros aren't exactly common, but you probably knew more about them than a Rabsca; an opponent with unknown abilities is often a greater threat than one you do know. Also, Slowbros are pretty tough in general, so the time spent taking it down could've been spent taking down a powerful attacker instead."

Hideo reached into his pocket. "It's important to look back on your past battles and to learn from them. An unknown variable can throw off any well-laid plan, but what's important was you were able to adapt and persevere - and in doing so, you found your way through this ordeal."

He took an Ordeal Badge out of his pocket, presenting it to Aaron.

"That's why I'm presenting you with the Ordeal Badge today, Aaron. I hope you're willing to accept it."
