"yeah." derek answers, even though no, he probably wasn't going to be fine. even so, it didn't feel like a good look to let the little girl suffer the brunt of the radiation. even with her cute little sygna suit on.

derek steps up to bat, hoping his recent bout with NIHILEGO TOXIN will give him some kind of edge—a tolerance. but it doesn't. blurred vision is just the start of his troubles.

"hey team, help us out will ya?" several pokemon are loosed, the first being a hatterene whose aromatherapy helps derek to get back up on his feet.

the others cast protective wards, namely a grimmsnarl who specializes in barriers that would reflect and protect them while they worked. the marshadow is simply playing copycat, adding to the makeshift fortifications keeping the ultra beasts at bay.

"alright." wiping his mouth, the ranger does his utmost to appear strong. he doesn't want to worry eris. "i think i'm good. how 'bout you? suit holding up good?" the marvels of that particular piece of technology were unknown to him. too expensive. which begged the question—how on earth did eris afford something like that? maybe he didn't want to know...

"i'm not acting tough." he was tough. there was plenty he'd experienced up until this point to harden himself. a little more suffering couldn't hurt. though maybe he would opt to leave soon, out of consideration.

he listens intently, a little excited when something seems to appear. but what is that something? "i uh... i dunno." it looked like a snorlax mated with a... the stress on his system caused sweat to form at his brow. palms to become clamy. but there's no time to worry about that—they have company. and it soon reveals itself to be hostile as it leaps towards them, attempting a body slam.

"double team it!" calling to the two dark silhouettes revealed, their ice punch double lariat lays low the glutton before it could cause them (or their equipment) any harm.
