Johanna wasn’t exactly keen on being down here again. She had grown far too familiar with the Ultra Deep Sea and its inhabitants. Yet here she was accompanied by a child.

Honestly having a child here felt wrong. But, Eris Halla was supposedly a rather strong trainer. Still, this was dangerous so she tried to keep herself in the front as they approached the organ. She hurriedly stepped into the danger zone to take the brunt of the dangerous radiation.

In her hurry she forgot to make sure Eris didn’t do the same.

She's more than capable of handling the radiation, and she has a sygna suit to try and dampen the effects it might have on her. "Don't do that!" She yells, pulling her back with a bit of help from Reiner. "You'll get sick! And then I'll have to carry you out of here! I have a sygna suit, so I would have been fine..."[break][break]

But there's no taking back what's already been done. So she calls upon her Comfey instead, allowing Chloris to fuss over the woman for the moment.[break][break]

In hindsight Eris made a good point. Johanna did not have a sygna suit, unlike the child, and so was far more susceptible to the environment, the toxins, and anything else down here.

Still, she forced a smile on her lips as she spoke. “Perhaps, but we can’t be relying too much on that suit of yours.”

A faulty argument, if not outright stupid argument, Johanna knew. But she had to seem strong. Besides, the radiation wasn’t so bad.

“I will. Don’t worry. I am fine, really.” Johanna assured as she let the Comfey fuss over her. It was a white lie, but she figured it would be better that Eris didn't worry too much.

Not even a second later she began to feel lightheaded. Her heart began to beat faster as a sense of being watched washed over her.

I am fine, I am fine.

She would remind herself as she began to mine. Only for her breathing to grow heavy and panting shortly after. Her knees grew weak, and so she fell to a kneel, in defeat, forced to take a moment to focus on resting.

Maybe I am not fine.

Now she just felt silly. She’d talked a big game, only for her to be put in this condition by the radiation.

What example she was setting for her partner. If she wasn’t too busy dealing with the various sensations that the Radiation was bombarding her with, she might’ve even sighed. Instead all she could do was accept the rest that Eris offered with her Comfey.

“Right, okay. I won’t.” She gave a nod. Accepting the help that Eris offered.

While Johanna rested and Eris mined time went by. And as it did things began to appear. Objects at first, then creatures. But before she could point them out or warn Eris, they would just as quickly disappear.

Johanna had to remind herself that it was merely visions forced upon her by radiation sickness of sorts.

That was until she heard the cracking of rocks by claws alerted her to the sudden manifestation of an enemy. But when she gazed upon it she could not comprehend what she saw. The body seemed familiar. Palkia. But this wasn’t Palkia. This was some sick amalgamation, as if someone had taken the urban-horror stories of Parasect and forced it onto the space deity in some the-last-of-us amalgamation.

It roared in a weird insectoid way. And Johanna lost her cool, helped along by radiation fatique.

Johanna pulled out a Pokeball in panic, releasing the Marshadow. She commanded it to engage in close combat with a FIRE PUNCH.

No, that's not a Paras. Nor is it anything she's ever seen before. And so it must be an abomination born of the radiation, yet another creature that she should probably take out before more apparitions are woven from their minds. Thankfully Reiner is already on it, releasing a Rising Voltage right at the amalgamation as he pulls Eris right back.[break][break]

And the strange Paras will begin to wriggle its many limbs, the soft clacking of its shell an unnerving mix with the crunch of crystals beneath its feet.

The parasect monstrosity fought valiantly. Such a shame that Johanna didn’t have the mental capacity to appreciate it.

But Marshadow did. It appreciated each swing of the claw, each foul chittering growl the insectoid released. But alas though the fight was beautiful in its own horrible way it had to end. And Marshadow did the best it could to bring that end about.

A flurry of Fire Punches that joined along the rising Voltage that Reiner released.

Realizing that it would probably only get worse from here, Johanna spoke out. “Let’s grab what we can and get out of here.”
