Petalburg City was a beautiful city. It was too bad that they were here for a game of cat and mouse instead of enjoy the wonders of the world.[break][break]

Walking alongside crispin tredarloe, Camellia Lemaitre hummed to herself.[break][break]

"What are you thinking with our target, Crispin? Anything fun?" she asked, turning her head to look over at him with a smirk crossing her lips.[break][break]

Petalburg did, indeed, have an older charm to it; if Crispin were to squint, he could imagine he was back home. In Galar or Kalos, really, either would do.

Camellia Lemaitre was carrying a little tune, and Crispin watched her in his peripherals. He was used to working in a pair, of course, though it was usually him making a mess, and @topher cleaning it up. He was rarely ever joined on the job.

“Hm,” he said, pondering, tapping a single purple-painted finger to his chin, “they don’t know my face, yet. Perhaps you chase, I offer succor, and once they feel safe, we pull the rug out from under them?”

She nodded, tapping the belt on her hip that held a variety of weapons and her Poke balls. Her hand held out her phone, looking over their target once again.[break][break]

"Sounds easy enough. Lull him into a false sense of trust and then pull the trigger."[break][break]

The PHANTUMP made a whirring noise, wigging alongside Camellia. "It seems our target has a child. We can use that to our advantage, Maxime. Lure him in so we can give chase."[break][break]

And bring more horror to their end.[break][break]

"Shall we split up here, Neuf? I'll chase him to you, and once he joins you, I'll allow Maxime to cry out as his child so you both can be drawn to our end point."

“Very well.” He ducked into his hood— a custom thing created to cover half his face, concealing one of his eyes. With his heterochromia, he was easy to pick out in a crowd, and, since this kill wasn’t entirely up to him, he wasn’t taking any chances.

He nodded once at Camellia and then slipped into the shadows, cutting down a side alley, his Fennekin at his heels, to await the target’s approach.

They split ways. Camellia was on the hunt for their target, not making a giant effort to conceal herself. Rather, entered the crowd, her PHANTUMP having disappeared to their decided meeting place for the end.[break][break]

Scanning the area whilst walking, she spotted the man that matched the image she and crispin tredarloe were given. "Target spotted. Closing in. Prepare for the chase," she murmured to her earpiece, stepping forward.[break][break]

Camellia's foot steps increased, following the man several feet behind him like a shadow until he was a decent way away from the crowd. When he went down a deserted alleyway, she made her move.[break][break]

"Friedrich Becker. You can't escape this time," she cooed, smiling wickedly as he whirled around.[break][break]

"How do you know that name—" Though he hardly had time to speak as Camellia darted forward with a dagger brandished, appearing to have the intention to kill while missing his throat at the same time. Instead, as he scurried from her, she made contact with his arm.[break][break]

"Mouse is on the move. Heading in your direction." She gave chase, chasing the man towards the woods while staying far enough away to lull him into a false sense of security in thinking she was gone.

Crispin cut a winding path through alleys and down main thoroughfares, donning and shedding his mask as he did so; he smiled politely at a gaggle of passing tourists, and gave some of his pocket change to an unhoused person, apparently quite unhurried to get where he was going.

When Onze’s alert rings through his earpiece, he pulls his mask up for a final time, clambers up a short wall, and appears directly in front of the fleeing Friedrich Baker.

“Judging by the look on your face that awful woman got to you before I did,” he said, tone heavy with apology, as he placed a kind hand on the man’s arm. “Quickly, follow me; I’ll get you to safety, and then we’ll deal with that witch.”
[break][break]
Lured into a false sense of security and too terrified to really speak, Baker nodded dimly, and Crispin led him down a few more alleys until they got to the agreed upon quote-unquote final destination.

“In here. You’ll be safe, I promise.”
