It doesn't take much convincing at all for him to fold to Naomi Sato's request; she turns the weight of her pleading gaze upon him and he laughs softly at her grumbling stomach before scouting out the smattering of food trucks nearby.[break][break]

As much of a health nut as Tempest Quinn was, Cillian didn't eat a whole lot of greasy or fried foods. They tended not to agree with his stomach as a result, so he passes up most options and finds himself sipping on a thick fruit smoothie instead. It's refreshing in Hoenn's summer heat, especially after the amount of walking around and excitement they've had.[break][break]

They wind up in the house of mirrors, and Cillian laughs at their twisted reflections.[break][break]

"Feels like I'm in uni again." Tripping out. "Damn, this place really is a maze, huh?"[break][break]

He'd thought from the outside that it surely couldn't be that bad, but it was disorienting once they were inside.[break][break]

"Which way d'you think?" he asks Naomi Sato, letting her take the lead.

Funnel cake defeated and hunger sated, Nomi followed after Cillian and Jayden to the Hall of Mirrors. At first, it was relatively easy to keep track of where they were going...but after a few minutes, the path diverged and the reflections in the mirrors became more and more warped.[break][break]
"Uh, well..." she began as Cillian turned to her. She was a scientist, sure, but did that actually help someone navigate a place like this? Biting her lip, she considered the options.[break][break]
An elongated version of her own face stared back at her as she debated which direction to go. "This way!" She finally declared, marching decisively to the left...only to end up right back where they started, at the crossroads.[break][break]
Blushing, she quickly said, "I meant right, of course," then scurried that way, hoping the two men wouldn't make fun of her too much for getting them lost. It seemed having a good sense of direction wasn't required to have an otherwise brilliant mind...

[break][break] jayden's head tilted towards her, feeling dizzy from all the reflections of their faces staring back at them in the mirrors. it was much easier to focus on her directly.

[break][break] he followed her through the crowd, content that she knew the direction to go, only to find that... she didn't.

[break][break] "of course," jayden repeated automatically, following her, but even as he did so he couldn't help but feel a budding feeling of concern. were they going to be trapped in here forever?

They wind up right back where they'd started, staring at their warped reflections at a fork in the maze. Naomi Sato's flushed cheeks prompt a twitch of his lip, though he restrains the urge to tease.[break][break]

"Of course," Cillian agrees, just as quickly as jayden cross. After a beat, he laughs at their synced response.[break][break]

They take turns stumbling through the mirrored hall, eventually finding themselves outside. Cillian blinks a few times to get rid of the disorienting haze, rolling his shoulders back and sighing with relief.[break][break]

"That was far more difficult than I'd have expected."

The sunlight was a relief. Nomi sighed, glad to be out of the maze, and ready to put her little mishap behind her.[break][break]
"I don't know about you two, but I'm getting a little tired. We could head to the Ferris Wheel and relax for a bit?[break][break]
Something caught her eye all of a sudden, and she turned to look. A nearby woman surrounded by a gaggle of kids was manipulating balloons into the shapes of various Pokémon. Nomi recognized the forms of the various Eevee evolutions, Vaporean, Flareon, Umbreon -- [break][break]
"Cute!" She declared, pointing. The woman held up a Sylveon, the pastel pink and baby blue balloons twisted together to represent the ribbons.[break][break]
She had to have it. Val would be thrilled![break][break]
Hurrying over, she made quick work of the purchase. Cuddling it to her chest (gently, of course), she returned to the men, incredibly pleased with herself.
