Spending the day out at the beach was such a good idea... It was still so hot out for summer time, and Yuina had continued to venture further and further out into different parts of the region. This beach in particular seemed to be a popular spot, maybe one of the more well known of the region, but that was just fine by her! Yuina and Crowley were spending some time together, lounging, making sand castles, just good old fun, when there was a bit of a commotion off to the side.[break]
"I told you not to bring it out there, it was bound to get lost."[break]
"My float got a hole in it! That made me drop it!"[break]
After a little bit of talking, it seemed that an expensive encased camera was dropped into the water by someone visiting the beach, but they were out too far and it was a little too deep to go get it! Yuina had Crowley the Croconaw, he was more than capable of helping out![break][break]
Agreeing to help the beach goers get their camera back, Yuina stood at the edge of the water with Crowley, looking around and considering her options...[break]
"Hmm... We need like a little boat or a surfboard or something to get out there... Lets see what we can find Crowley," Yuina deduced, wondering if she might be able to borrow something from someone for a little while so that she could go out into the water with her Pokemon.

Yumi reclined on the back of her Sharpedo, enjoying the push and pull of the waves around her as the sun warmed her skin. A floppy straw hat and a pair of sunglasses kept her face and eyes shaded from the bright sky while she watched the clouds pass by. The conversation and laughter from other beachgoers was a muted buzz in her ear, easily ignored.[break][break]

However, one noise roused her from tranquil serenity: the bark of her Popplio, who swam nearby. "What is it, Suimei?" the woman asked, sitting up.[break][break]

The sea lion pup swam closer and held something up out of the water. Peering closer, Yumi recognized it as an encased, waterproof camera.[break][break]

"Did someone drop that and you found it?" she asked Suimei.[break][break]

The Popplio barked again and offered it to her mistress.[break][break]

Yumi took it, careful not to drop it back into the water. Lips pursed in thought, she turned her gaze to the shore a short distance away. "Hmm. Did you see who owns it?"[break][break]

The Pokémon shook her head, uttering a small yip of concern.

"Thanks again! I'll bring it right back," Yuina called out, waving to someone who was resting beneath an umbrella on their towel, they had just let her borrow their surf board for a little while as they'd come back to rest. Hopefully she wouldn't have too many other things she'd need to procure, so far it was find the camera, give it back to the person that dropped it and then give the nice person their surf board back, she didn't want the list to keep growing.[break]
"Okay Crowley, lets get out into the water, hopefully its been calm enough that the camera didn't float off too far," Yuina said as she struggled only a little, the surf board was bigger than she anticipated, and she wavered before finally being able to set it in the water. The Croconaw waded into the water as Yuina carefully eased herself onto the surf board, only now just realizing how unstable she felt... It was too late now, she already committed.[break]
Slow but steady Yuina paddled out into the water, heading in the general direction the couple said they may have dropped their camera, and Crowley began to bob into the water beneath the surface, starting to keep his eyes out for anything he could find.

Unexpected movement along the shoreline caught Yumi's eye. A woman paddled out from the beach using a surfboard, her Croconaw at her side — which would not have been unusual save for the expression on the woman's face.[break][break]

She looked uncertain, perhaps even frightened. That was not the face a surfer typically made when heading out.[break][break]

Not only that, but she did not appear to be heading for deeper waters to catch the large waves. Her slow pace suggested a different purpose.[break][break]

"Are you looking for this?" Yumi called out to the woman, holding up the camera.

Needless to say, having never been on a surf board or any other kind of paddling or water fairing object showed greatly in Yuina's struggle to move through the water, kneeling on her knees to give her the best balance and pushing against the water with her arms and hands. She was wobbly at best, and nearly toppled over a handful of times at the surf board's movement, but darn it if she wasn't accomplishing her goal.[break][break]
"Ugh... Maybe I should have found something else to use... This is really hard with how far out we're trying to go," Yuina paused for a moment, slowly leaning upright and sitting back on her legs now, straightening out her back. This was really a workout, having to keep her balance and focus so much on it while pushing herself forward in the water... And just when she was getting ready to keep going because she had to commit and finish this now, she heard a voice call out to her in the near distance.[break]
She hadn't really been paying attention to anyone or anything else in the water with all of her focus of not falling over, but out in the water just a little ways away from where she was now, a woman was sat on a large dark blue Pokemon with a large fin on its back, and she called out to her with a question. Yuina struggled for a moment, losing her focus at being called out to, and she nearly did topple the board as she wavered, but she looked out and found that the woman was holding an encased camera![break][break]
"Oh my, yes! Yes, some people dropped it, but they didn't have any water Pokemon with them, that's so kind of you," Yuina remarked, and Crowley guffawed with a wide toothy smile at their success![break][break]
"Thank you for picking it up, I was worried it was going to start getting dragged away by the water, and now I can bring them back their camera, and bring the other person their surf board back without much hassle," Yuina was relieved, how great was it that the woman had water Pokemon too that were able to find the camera?

The other woman was barely making any progress through the water. Yumi noticed the Croconaw nearby and paused, confused. If the woman had a Water-type Pokémon, she simply should have held onto it and asked it to guide her through the water. Did she not know how to swim?[break][break]

"Kyoufu, swim over, please," Yumi said to her Sharpedo. The shark obliged, traversing through the water with predatory ease. Suimei the Popplio swam ahead, yipping and sniffing with curiosity at the unfamiliar Croconaw.[break][break]

Once Kyoufu drew alongside the other woman's surfboard, Yumi held out the camera but did not hand it over yet. She raised an eyebrow at the board.[break][break]

"I'd give this to you, but something tells me you'd just drop it again with how you're using that thing."

This was great, Yuina couldn't believe her luck that someone and their Pokemon had found the camera in question and they would be able to return it and get everything situated! She smiled as the woman requested the large water Pokemon move forward towards her, and Crowley made it a point to stay on the other side of the surf board, just to... Stay out of the way. He did smile and splash around at the small seal that barked at him. Steady on the board, Yuina watched as she moved forward, and the camera was just about in her grasp, but the woman wasn't holding it out to her yet...[break][break]
"Wait, but," she said incredulously.[break]
"I won't drop it? I've been careful coming out here, and my Croconaw can help too," she defended, she did in fact make it out this far and didn't suffer anything serious yet? Even if it took her a little longer to get back than it did to get out here, Yuina was still committed to what she set out to do.

Yumi's expression of skepticism conveyed her thoughts more openly than any spoken words. She considered the woman seated in front of her and the Croconaw floating in the water.[break][break]

"We'll go together," she decided at length, cradling the camera to her chest. "Kyoufu, bring us to shore."[break][break]

At first, nothing happened. Then a surge of water lifted Yumi, the other woman, and their Pokémon toward the beach, summoned by the half-submerged Sharpedo. The full form of the menacing shark only appeared once he beached onto the sand, startling children and adults alike.[break][break]

Yumi slid off her Pokémon's back with nonchalant grace. "Where are the owners of this camera?" she asked the brunette as she scanned the beach with her dark gaze.

In spite of her best efforts, Yuina still hadn't procured the camera, the woman just wouldn't give it over to her... To say she was a little cross about the situation would be an understatement, she was just trying to do a good thing? And then she wasn't going to give it at all, and said they would deliver it together...[break]
"Hey, wait," Yuina tried to protest, she wasn't trying to be a glory hound about anything, but this was something that she set out to do with the intention of finishing it, she should be the one to finish what she started. But before anything more could be said, the giant water Pokemon the woman had amassed enough water to bring all of them to shore, and Yuina held onto the surf board tightly not to fall off, and before much longer they were back on the sand.[break][break]
Yuina huffed a bit as she stood from the surf board, bidding Crowley to stay with the apparatus in the interim, but she still had yet to actually get a hold of the camera. Instead, the woman asked who it belonged to.[break][break]
"There, under the bright green umbrella, it belongs to that couple," Yuina returned, it wasn't worth trying to fight over the camera at this point, it was out from the water and at least it was going back to the people it belonged to...
