Why was she so nervous? Was there really anything to be nervous about? She was a good candidate right? Sure... She'd only been around for a couple of weeks, and didn't have many Pokemon with her... And she didn't know half of the region yet... And was far, far behind on Pokemon battling and handling compared to others her same age or even younger...[break]
"Wait, this was a mistake, I shouldn't be here," Yuina huffed, but Kyoko growled lightly as she put a paw on her trainer's shoulder, stopping her for... probably the third time now of trying to turn around and walk out? It'd been a long fifteen or so minutes of trying to keep her around for the interview...[break][break]
"Okay, okay, you're right," she sighed again, she'd already done some great work, hadn't she? She worked with Josh Devlin and Shalin Nariya a lot, and she knew they were a part of this ranger organization, and she had even already gone on some of those really dangerous missions into that interdimensional deep sea space to mine for crystals..... That had to hold some merit right? Oh... but what if she was being too haughty about it? She couldn't be arrogant about the things that she'd already done...[break]
"No, this is wrong, I haven't really done anything to help," she sighed again, this all seemed so much easier before they said that the head ranger was going to be conducting her interview into the ranger organization... Why was she even here anyway? Did she really have anything to offer? She couldn't speak on her commitment to the region when she didn't even know anything about Hoenn and the things that were happening, and she couldn't put into words that deep, profound feeling that she needed to do these things, that she felt compelled to do these 'good' things...[break][break]
"Yuina Higashi? We're ready for you, this way please."[break][break]
Too late... She returned Kyoko to her Pokeball and moved to follow the receptionist to the space for her interview... Should she even be here at all? Guess she was about to find out...

She had half a mind to bow out gracefully, surely it wasn't too late... And before she could register exactly who she found on the other side of the doors, the voice called her name first.... Ollie was the head ranger? He was one of the ones in charge of the organization that could make these kinds of decisions, and she didn't know?[break]
Should she have known? Was that going to hurt her chances that she didn't? What if she did something that she shouldn't have on their missions together? She didn't know that Ollie could make this decision, let alone would be the one making it when the time came...[break][break]
All at once Yuina's expression blanked for a second, somehow the pressure of the situation was both way worse and then not since she at least new Ollie, but... She didn't know him as the head ranger... This was not what she was expecting.[break][break]
"Well, no I... And you didn't... But you shouldn't have to...," she failed terribly at articulating anything in the moment... She may as well turn around and leave now...[break]
"Uh... Yes, I would like to officially become a ranger, if given the chance," Yuina said after a moment, confirming why she was there, but she really felt now that there was no point, she couldn't even stand this interview at all and was tripping over herself, there was no conceivable way that she could be in charge of a mission or objective?

And just like that, it was time to get started, asked to take a seat and the burning question, why?[break]
Why did she want to be a ranger, why was she here? And even though she'd been thinking and mulling over it a lot, it still didn't feel like a question that she had a solid answer to... How could she have a solid answer to anything when she was still missing so much of herself?[break][break]
"Uhm... Well, I'm pretty new to Hoenn, and it sounds like there's a lot going on... I've kind of already started working on some things, with Josh Devlin, and have picked up some of those expeditions to that... Deep Sea," Yuina started, kind of laying out the couple of paving stones that had already gotten her here.[break][break]
"Coming to Hoenn has been kind of a fresh start for me, and I've been looking for something to get involved with, to do something that matters, and I really feel like this is the path I want to try to take," she continued, laying out enough of her half truth, she was on a fresh start, a clean slate, not of her own volition, but if she was going to do anything with it, surely this is a good idea?
