Talking with Matias about anything that required any sort of emotional give or take was like riding a rollercoaster. He retreated back behind his walls and was up to leave before she even had a chance to register his deflection. [break][break]

What was she giving up on? She needed to know. She followed him away from the bar, the whisper of the crowd reminding her this is not the place or time to call him out. [break][break]

Her brows pull together, and she answers before she could choose her words more carefully, “He hasn’t given me a reason not to.”
