After the earlier tussle at sea Johanna had not thought she would find herself at sea so quickly. But the ship she had been on had been far from the only one. And one such ship had sent out a distress signal picked up by her communication device. So what else could she do but jump onto the back of her Blastoise and blast off in the direction.

She appeared just in time to watch the ship aflame slowly sinking deeper. People calling for help, but no sight of the cause of this disaster.

She had a feeling whoever did this was still around. But without being able to see them she could only try to save those poor souls fighting against the waves by offering them help with her Blastoise.

The sea is Tempest's strongest domain. The ship had sunk easily enough; the resistance that the League put up wasn't enough for his intimate knowledge of Hoenn's seas. All that was left was clean up. It wasn't good work, dragging people into the deep, but it was effective.[break][break]

The danger that Johanna Joy would face would come from below.[break][break]

Shark Attack wasn't something most people experienced other than in movies. It was rarer than people liked to think. But Johanna could say she experienced it. Or, her pokemon at least.[break][break]

The Sharpedo sped from below, a bullet that sliced through the water. She was massive for the species, all muscle and covered in scars. On her back, Tempest gripped tight in his wetsuit, rebreather strapped to his face. Her massive maw opened, rows of teeth flexing as they tried to Crunch around the Blastoise's back leg.

If ever there was a fear she had not considered before, then it was being attacked by a Sharpedo in open waters.

But as Johanna and the Blastoise moved in to help sailors lost at sea the blue Shellfish Pokemon would look into the depths to see if some might’ve gone below the surface, only to spot the oncoming attacker.

Time was short, Blastoise had to make choices. It came to a sudden halt, Johanna just barely managed to cling onto the smooth wet shell. “Anat Wha…” Before JOhanna could even finish the sentence the Blastoise pulled itself into its shell saving its hind leg from being crunched for the moment. Unfortunately it left the rest of the shell wide open.

Too busy protecting Johanna, the Blastoise could do naught, as it knew any sudden movements would throw the Gym Leader into the dangerous waters.

But Johanna wasn’t blind to this fact, so she summoned another fighter for the moment. A Dhelmise manifested into the air. It’s long green seaweeds ready and eager to fight. So much so that the trainer did not need to even speak the command before the seaweed POWER WHIP shot into the waters attempting to hit whatever was chomping on the Blastoise.

The Power Whip slapped Marina in the face, startling the Sharpedo enough to have her stop her assault for a moment. Tempest narrowed his eyes at the massive anchor. Bad news. His finger twitched to call out his own Dhelmise, but that wasn't the best idea here. Instead, from under the water was a flash of blue light as he released another pokemon.[break][break]

The water flashed and glowed yellow, filled with static. An ION DELUGE flooding the immediate area from the Lanturn Temp had released.[break][break]

Marina surged forward again, electricity sparkling around her find from the SLASH she aimed for the Blastoise's underbelly.

With powerful thrusts of its shoulder cannons the Blastoise would try to escape. But alas it found itself unable to do so.

A quick flash and a yellow glow in the water alerted Johanna. She needed to get herself and Blastoise out of the water quickly. Dhelmise was somewhat safe for now because it hovered.

By the time she had released her third Pokemon, A Drifblim, it was already too late. Blastoise had tried to move, but it's aquatic speed fell short compared to the Sharpedo. The electric SLASH cut deep with the help of the electric current, so deep in fact that the Blastoise was knocked out.

Even Johanna felt the zapping pain jolt through her for a moment before the Drifblim managed to heave her into its Ballon arms and rise into the air. Though pain was surging through her from the electricity, her focus was solely on getting Anat the Blastoise out of that water. As she retrieved the Blastoise into the safety of its Pokéball another Pokéball on her trainer belt short-circuited, releasing its inhabitant into the air

Unfortunately the Tsareena could not fly, and so found itself plunging into the ionized water, joining the fray alongside the Dhelmise, even if it was woefully unprepared for battle.

Unprepared as it was, the Tsareena was a quick take down for Marina.[break][break]

A Poison Fang sank into the grass type as it basically fell into waiting jaws. Crunching down on an arm, the Sharpedo started to dive down, her Speed Boost helping her along as she dove. Tempest let go of her, floating next to his Lanturn in the water. His rebreather bubbled with air as he peered down into the darkness after his pokemon.[break][break]

A moment later was bubbles followed by the rising stain of red in the water.[break][break]

His eyes flicked back up, peering at the wobbly visage of Johanna Joy from under the waves. If he could keep her busy a little longer, his team would be done with the clean up from the ship.[break][break]

But first, the Dhelmise.[break][break]

A jerk of the head and the Lanturn was between them. Electricity flickered on her body, but in the end the bulb of light hanging over her head would flicker with light- aiming a Signal Beam to try and drive the other pokemon back.

Poisoned Fangs sunk deep into the Tsareena. It flailed for a moment in the waters before being pulled down, faint traces of small bubbles popping at the surface as the air soon left the plants lungs.

Mortified Johanna looked down and saw what a single mistake had wrought her.

But Johanna was given little time to mourn, little time to deal with any grief that might spawn. A beam of light shot forward from beneath the waves. Dhelmise just barely managed to dodge by jumping into a PHANTOM FORCE. Where it would emerge remained to be seen.

Drifblim too managed to dodge but that was a matter of pure luck more so than actual skill. It’s placement had been in a favorable direction.

“Bomb them with Hypnosis.” Johanna commanded the Drifblim.

And it obliged. Though how effective it would be even Drifblim doubted. Still, the red rings of the HYPNOSIS would wash down from high above like a waterfall made psychic power.

The Hypnosis pours into the water. It only hits Temp himself, the man narrowly flitting out of the way. Getting put to sleep would be bad for him, regardless of how his pokemon would fight. It would leave him a sitting duck in the waves or captured at best. At worst, dead at the bottom of the ocean.[break][break]

The lanturn is not so lucky. She flails, trying to get away, but is too slow in the end. Her struggles still, the waves churning to pull her slowly downward as she sleeps.[break][break]

Tempest grumbles and calls her back into her pokeball before he loses her.[break][break]

Another glance downwards, where Marina was, before he grabs for another Pokeball. A Clawitzer is sent out, the blue lobster pokemon readying her Mega Launcher claw when Tempest instructs her.[break][break]

A flash from deep in the water. The infinity energy explodes, Marina shooting up in her new Mega Evolved form. She shoots like a bullet through the water, straight up, launching herself into the air with the speed and force of it.[break][break]

Sharp teeth try to Crunch down on the Drifblim, hoping to bring Johanna Joy closer.

The kill is taken from them. All that Marina tastes is stone and earth as it vanishes between her maw.[break][break]

Instead of Johanna Joy, another stands before him. Tempest crawls from the water and onto the wet sands, sloughing water with him. Marina stays behind him, the Sharpedo's jagged teeth ready to clench down around the man.[break][break]

But Tempest is a man of his own morals.[break][break]

"Leave and I won't kill you."[break][break]

Whatever quandary or doubt that Farhan hopes to instill in Temp won't work. The question ignored.[break][break]

Instead, Tempest narrows his eyes and looks down on the other.[break][break]

"How many people threw themselves into Chimney because of you?"[break][break]

The ghost of RVL still haunting even after all these months.

a thick white smoke spills out from the torkoal's nostrils. under the cover of this plume, several kindler-rangers rush in to recover johanna.[break][break]

behind him, a red head emerges from the smoke. his torkoal finds farhan's eyes.[break][break]

"i won't contest you." farhan says. "my job here is done. i will take my leave."
