a short shouting match had just about ended as the scientist drew a pokeball out, prepared to release her bird and fly away. she had tagged along with equipment, attempting a repair, but now they had switched routes to answer another call. they were set for combat.[break][break]

before she could release her escape plan, however, the universally familiar sight of an elite four appeared too close to simply take off and leave them there.[break][break]

”fucking kidding me.” she shot one more sharp glare at the executive she’d been arguing with before a different pokeball was launched into the air.[break][break]

a blastoise splashed into the sea, blasting a hydro pump in their direction. it was likely to be joined by many others.

when her blastoise found itself staring at a wave of approaching ice, the only thing it could think to do was withdraw into its shell, where it then remained frozen in a block.[break][break]

”shit,” lulu cursed. but she had other ideas.[break][break]

returning her blastoise from the ice that threatened their ship, she then tossed another pokeball. a magnezone appeared, single red eye homing in on the threat.[break][break]

”stop the ice,” she commanded. a barrier flashed in front of the ship.[break][break]

electricity sparked around her magnezone’s saucer, charging an attack that would be merciless on the water. lulu held up a middle finger, calling out to the elite four, ”fuck off!”[break][break]

the ice beam collided with the barrier violently, which held for a moment or two before breaking. the beam went even further, like a needle right into the eye of lulu’s magnezone. lulu watched, hands up in disbelief and fury.[break][break]

the blinded magnezone spun dramatically, losing track of which way was up and zooming right into the water. there, it floated in no particular direction, sparking ominously.[break][break]

realizing what was about to happen, lulu smirked. if greyson didn’t act quick, magnezone’s defensive thunder wave would roll mercilessly towards him.[break][break]

magnezone continued to spark in the newly falling rain, eye shut as it rolled on the waves. tentatively, a zap cannon was fired off—right into rocket’s boat.[break][break]

”fuck,” lulu hissed, shooting a glare at those onboard yelling about it. she threw out another pokeball, deciding to get serious while her magnezone was down. hopefully, it was only temporary.[break][break]

in the beam, a genesect appeared. its magnet rise levitated it over the water, red eyes assessing their target.[break][break]

”this one doesn’t miss,” lulu warned greyson with a grin, curious to see his reaction to rocket’s creation. had he seen one before?[break][break]

she had not created the original genesect, nor had she created this replica all on her own. however, her work in the exodus project made her feel close to it. she’d had a hand in its existence.[break][break]

she smiled. ”we do good work.”[break][break]

an ice beam fired from the lapras, and the genesect tried to zip out of the way. it was almost successful, though still the beam caught it on its side. luckily, durantium chrome made it resistant to the ice.[break][break]

she smirked at its swift recovery. it needed no instruction to fire a quick techno beam in the lapras’ direction.[break][break]

the hydro pump hit, knocking the genesect back through the air. it was destructive enough to crush steel, maybe, but this was durantium chrome–an ore created by the melted down bodies of many steel-types to create the ultimate body.[break][break]

it sprung back, still very much in the fight.[break][break]

”i would rather die than be a prisoner.” again.[break][break]

her genesect prepared a metal claw, aiming for whatever it could reach. it didn’t matter. genesect had made it through the hull of a submarine, after all.[break][break]

”you won’t be the one to see that.”[break][break]

before the genesect could follow through with its attack, however, the magnezone suddenly seemed to regain its vision. it fired off a hasty zap cannon. while it cut off its partner’s attack, at least this time it was rather accurately aimed.[break][break]

His eyes widen slightly at the realization, the surprise, of his words. Yet, as unexpected as they were, he finds the message to be one he agrees with. If killing her here saved a life down the road, then he'd do it. Even if it meant his soul would be lost in the process.

ZAP CANNON

catches the Lapras off-guard, a flash of silver lightning meeting at the base of her neck. Static electricity rolls over her massive form, paralyzation locking her body.

He needed to even the odds.

Reaching for an orb, he releases another Pokemon. Iron Valiant stands stoically on the ships brow, metallic pinging quietly with each rain drop. She looks at Genesect, analyzing her opponent, before an

electric terrain

springs into existence.

Her

quark drive

engages, and the Paradox Pokemon disappears in a burst of explosive speed at her target.

according to comms, a rescue was on the way. this ship was getting taken. that much was clearly unavoidable. however, there were things that needed to make it off the ship.[break][break]

as the battle continued, the scientist hurried down into a cabin, waving rudely at the elite four before she disappeared.[break][break]

meanwhile, taking advantage of the electric terrain, her magnezone—still holding on for dear life—let go another discharge that struck all around, including the genesect, causing it to fall out of the air briefly before it caught itself. a techno blast was fired off in the iron valiant’s direction, in hopes to stop whatever was quickly headed its way.[break][break]
