It's another boat in the distance. Another boat, that Genny was tasked with keeping from the shoreline. The last one she tried to stop from docking onto the sandy bank.[break][break]

She wouldn't let Rocket keep this one. With her little chipmunk, Hazel, she intended to make the ship sink in full by breeching the hull, attempting to make it go down, and forcing Rocket to abandon ship, where Genny intended to round them up upon reaching land, and taking them in.[break][break]

It was easy.[break][break]

"Pin Missile, Hazel. Breach the hull best you can." With the Chespin kicking up sand with rolling around, he began firing out PIN MISSILEs to take it down.[break][break]

Genny used this tactic when she was out handling pirates with Josh Devlin. Similar thought process. If they can sink even one ship, they make all the difference.[break][break]

It was never that easy.[break][break]

Of course it was never that easy. But what fun would it be if it was?[break][break]

The Pin Missile would never reach the boat. They would bounce off a solid object in the water; not painlessly, but the Acid Armor that Slushie had put up certainly helped. The Vaporeon worked on body blocking.[break][break]

Tempest and Marina worked on taking out the threat.[break][break]

A shark fin rose from the waves. It was followed by the Sharepdo herself. Marina was a massive beast of a pokemon; covered in all sorts of scars from where she had been hit by a shit rudder years ago. Tempest was on her back, a wet suit plastered to his body. Something like a grin, all teeth and no humor, as his eyes caught on Genevieve Cromwell's.[break][break]

"You get one chance." He called out to her, loud but calm. "Fuck off or I'll make you."

The Pin Missiles bounced off, and Genevieve scowled, no pout, just disdain for the foe that emerged from the ocean. To that threat, she would respond in kind with a confident smile.[break][break]

"Not gonna happen." she responds coolly, keeping the confidence in check, as Hazel dances in place, flexing his little chipmunk muscles, as the redhead held up her badge. "Under the Ranger core, I'm placing you under arrest."[break][break]

She's not backing down at all. No shark, no hell or high water, was getting her to move. Fear may grasp her heart, but surrender wasn't an option.[break][break]

"Again, on the shark. Do not hit the human aboard."[break][break]

Genny attempted her damndest to make an assessment. Sharpedo are known for their bites. Anatomically, that's the thing she worried about more, so keeping the shark at a distance would suit her well. Making them swim, even if the newly fired pins missed, meant he'd have to spend extra energy moving, right?[break][break]

Whether she was right would be another thing entirely.

A mocking laugh was all that Genevieve Cromwell would get in return to her order.[break][break]

A pat was given to Marina, her Speed Boost causing her to give a surge of speed forward.[break][break]

The Pin Missiles stuck into her rough hide, causing the shark to wince, but she only doubled down as she pushed forward and towards the redhead. A sudden surge and she bounced from the water, mouth open and teeth ready to clamp down with a CRUNCH.[break][break]

But Team Rocket never played fair.[break][break]

While slower, the Vaporeon darted behind her trainer and hide ride. She leaped from the water, using Tempest's back as a springboard to launch herself into the air.[break][break]

A HYDRO PUMP aimed directly at the woman herself.[break][break]

The consideration she had given Tempest was not returned.

Genevieve was used to it by now. The fading memory of Lady Bloom enters her mind... the man who attacked them during the dog mission fuzzier and fuzzier, and she didn't get a face before (Hitoshi Inoue). But with the rushing Sharpedo, the surge, the bounce, all while Hazel got into a combat stance. The Sharpedo was faster than anticipated, but even so, Hazel could-[break][break]

"Counter stance, Wood Hamm-"[break][break]

Hazel would take the CRUNCH, and attempt to bat the shark away with a WOOD HAMMER volleyball smack, but unbeknownst to either of them, Genevieve would be blasted at with a HYDRO PUMP, putting the redhead at a disadvantage, as the torrential downpour threw her off her feet, and tumbling into the sand with a slide. Her hair was drenched, her outfit damp and wet, but she glared.[break][break]

"Don't worry. I learned a thing or two from your lot with the dog mission. Guardian. Keep the water to a minimum."[break][break]

A Duskull appeared from Genevieve's chest, the red cloak of the shiny apparition would have the glowing red eye flared up, before locking on the Vaporeon for a DISABLE. Wiping her hair out of her face, Genevieve smirked.[break][break]

"I'm not your average Ranger, so you better not underestimate me, Rocket." she boasts. She could back-up that claim but if she took another attack like that Hydro Pump, she wasn't going to last.

Tempest laughed, wild and loud and free, even as he and Marina were slammed back into the water from the Wood Hammer. They splashed into the water, two separate bodies hitting different angles.[break][break]

Marina shook herself off and surged up once again, without Temp on her back this time. She sliced through the water with ease, body glowing blue as her form seemed to dissipate.[break][break]

Only to try and slam into the Chespin with a FLIP TURN.[break][break]

With her last hit, she vanished completely midair. But a shadow still gathered overhead, a Walrein falling from the space that Marina had just taken up. She hit the beach and kicked up sand, sharp tusks gleaming in the light.[break][break]

Slushie tilted her head then darted forward. A flood of sandy, MUDDY WATER at her heels from the water, looking to soak the entire beach- and wash Genevieve Cromwell and her pokemon away in the process.[break][break]

Tempest did not resurface.

This guy laughing was really starting to get to him, and the more he did it, the more Genny felt unnerved. Like standing off against a goliath. But unstoppable force would meet the immovable object, because Genny had no intention of letting him through, period.[break][break]

But as the Rocket fell to the sea, and Marina came in with a FLIP TURN, Genevieve saw the little Chespin thrown and rolling, tumbling onto the sand closer to herself. Bruised and beaten, battered and smacked around.[break][break]

Genevieve inhales. Calms the storm of her mind, and gets up on her two legs. "Hazel. Brace yourself. Guardian? Look ahead." The Chespin begins to speed up, kicking up dirt himself in a ROLLOUT, readying himself for something magnificent, as Guardian utilizes FUTURE SIGHT on the Walrein, glowing eye from Genny's stomach.[break][break]

"Okay, we just have to-"[break][break]

Vaporeon. Oh no, what were they-[break][break]

Her head cranes to the side, and with it comes the muddy turbulent water, knocking Genevieve off balance, and Guardian going with her, tumbling to stay at her side. But Hazel was a ballsy little guy. He attempted to hop atop of the water, skipping like a pebble, and trying to reach the Walrein.[break][break]

Only to come up short just a shy ten feet, falling into the muddy water and thrown backwards.[break][break]

Despite this, she forces herself up again. Tenacity driving her. She was outmatched, outgunned. But she'd make an all out stand if she had to. "That all you got? I'm barely breaking a sweat." She wasn't good at lying, but courage overrode most of her fears. She was either brave or stupid. Even if her hair was covered in mud, or cuts and bruises from being thrown around, she wasn't letting this guy get past her.

- Genny isn't backing down at all. She gets up, and gets at the ready. Taunting the Rocket to bring it.

Genevieve Cromwell balked her commands to unflinching waves.[break][break]

After all, Tempest had never come back up from the water after he was thrown under. It was rocky and shallow here. Maybe he had hit his head? Maybe she had indirectly led to him drowning?[break][break]

The Future Sight Latched onto the Walrein, but that is an oncoming issue. For now, it doesn't stop her from wobbling and flopping on the beach, tossing her head from side to side. Unusual, since it seems to not do anything. That is, until a steady pelting of Hail starts up over the area. Soon enough, it's flood the battlefield, obscuring the battle as it slams into those unused to such attacks.[break][break]

Slushie flicks her ears back, still effected by the Hail, but she stalks forward anyway. Her eyes flick between Genny, her Chespin, and her Duskull. Opening her maw to reveal sharp teeth, a blue energy sparks between her lips before shooting forth. The Ice Beam aims to strike down the Duskull, who Slushie thought was the bigger threat.

The ocean never felt so cold. Maybe that was the prickling hail, that cut at her cheeks, or ripped at her Ranger gear, but no matter what it was, Genny's hazel eyes looked on with fierce conviction.[break][break]

If all that sat in front of them was a Walrein and a Vaporeon, they'd find a way to win.[break][break]

Hazel hoisted himself onto his feet, barely able to stay standing. Guardian stuck inside of Genny. Her guardian, literally. With fear providing her her courage, she looks to the Vaporeon, who would fire the blue energy towards Genny. To Guardian, specifically. And Genny held her arms up. Ready to keep Guardian safe, ready to keep him from gaining any harm.[break][break]

The eternal weakness of love, is that the more someone is loved, the more willing someone else will be to protect it. And as the ICE BEAM fires out, Genny prepares for that frigid touch, before the frost pierced into Hazel.[break][break]

And the Hazel falls to the ground, grabbing at himself. His chest was starting to freeze over... his heartbeat was lowering considerably... the Chespin did not cough blood.[break][break]

The little chipmunk turns to Genny and smiles, with a small flex. The frost combing over his body, the sound of crackling everpresent in the air.[break][break]

"Hazel..." A tear pushes down from her eye, as it began to move across her face... and Guardian fires off more to debilitate. A CONFUSE RAY meant for the Vaporeon.[break][break]

Guardian was burning with fury now. Genny steels herself. These Pokemon fought autonomously. They required no input, no control. Genny practiced control as much as she could, but it wasn't enough. Her eyes narrow at the field. For the wetsuit Rocket.[break][break]

Glaring.

The shifting of sand from behind.[break][break]

Tempest charges like a bull, soaked as he was. His vanishing hadn't been death or injury; it had been diversion so he could slip up the beach and circle around the battle. Genevieve Cromwell was just the unfortunate target of a killer.[break][break]

There is no weapon or knife, just the attempt at grabbing her.[break][break]

The ray reflects in Slushie's eyes, causing her delicate paw-steps to turn heavy as she staggers. She shakes her head and ears, trying to wobble forward; a Bubblebeam is fired from her mouth, but it swings wide and misses.[break][break]

The Walrein is still in play, though. She slaps her belly with her flipper, her own hypnotic Encore echoing for the Duskull.

It's like that. Genny doesn't fully see it coming. The redhead's hazel eyes are filled with a fear that cannot be fathomed, as Tempest moves to grab her, and she cannot react in time to see it coming. In fact, the diversion is so flawless, that as she is grabbed, her eyes look on in fear.[break][break]

Being four foot eleven makes it really hard to get out of this grip, but being so tiny meant a few perks that come with the fight. Though she grips towards the Tempest... Hazel quietly feels himself grabbing towards the Rocket's leg. Trying to hold him back, but slowly, his chest and legs freeze over. He was becoming an icicle.[break][break]

Unfortunately too, the Walrein's Encore only made it difficult to help Genny. But...[break][break]

It could still aim the CONFUSE RAY. And he chose the Rocket. He may not be able to hurt him, but to get him to back off, was his own option.[break][break]

Whether it worked or not...[break][break]

Genny was at his mercy.

It was cruelty, to have the Chespin slowly freeze over. It tugs at a heart he thought hardened.[break][break]

The focus on the Chespin, as he tries to grapple her, is what seals his fate. The Confuse Ray blasts him, making him fumble and lose grip. Stagger forward as his vision swam and legs wobbled.[break][break]

It would be a better position of Genevieve Cromwell to get the upper hand. Or, it would be if not for the two pokemon still in Tempest's control.[break][break]
