Working with Iono the Infernape, Yuina brought boxes from the unload point and made sure to pile them into the bed of the jeep they were preparing, in order to get supplies from the southern landing point of the island to one of the camps the league had developed. Yuina huffed, getting another box situated as the Infernape made easy work of getting things hunkered down, so that there would be minimal movement.[break]
"I think that's all of it, probably time to get it tied down," Yuina remarked, taking a moment to catch her breath as she spoke to Thomas Benoit, they were just about ready to go it seemed and start making their way towards the camp with the supplies they'd loaded up.

Aiding the woman and her Infernape were Thomas and his Lucario, Cobalt. The four were able to work together to load the truck with as much as they could carry, the Infernape making sure the vehicle was well-packed, and secure. As Yuina caught her breath, Thomas moved to tie down the load.

"My Lucario should be able to cover us from the back, should we run into trouble.", Thomas told Yuina, as he finished securing the supplies. The Lucario would hop into the back of the truck, taking position at the rear.

Thomas got into the cabin of the truck, staring it up, and allowing Yuina a moment to get situated.

At this point, the Kalosian was expecting trouble.

Everything was set, loading up the bed of the jeep and making sure everything was tied down, which meant it was time to head off. There still wasn't a lot of information gathered about the island, they had a vague direction and a crude map to follow... But hopefully that meant that they could still get the supplies delivered...[break]
Yuina moved to the other side of the jeep, hopping up into the passenger side, and Iono took a position on the side of the open cab frame. The Lucario was going to cover the back, so he could cover the sides of the jeep for safety, just to make sure they were covered.[break][break]
"Okay, ready. We're due north west from here, a couple of miles, and then we'll have to start looking for landmarks," Yuina confirmed, they couldn't do anything like ping coordinates or anything like that with communication channels getting compromised left and right, so it was coming down to hand drawn maps and landmarks like specific rock formations.

As Yuina instructed him, Thomas would drive northwest, taking the path for a couple of miles, before she would inevitably tell him which landmarks to look out for.

The quiet drive would be interrupted by the arrival of Rockets. There were a few in a truck behind them. Though most pressingly, they would be joined by other Rockets mounted to Pokemon, both on land, and in the skies above.

Cobalt would begin to fire off weaker Aura Spheres towards their pursers, attempting to knock the riders off their mounts. An Electrode that stowed away on the truck would join the Lucario, putting up a Light Screen at the rear of the jeep, in an effort to protect it from attacks.

"Here comes the fun part.", Thomas remarked, preparing to duck, and driving in a more defensive manner.

They'd really only gone a couple of miles before they were being pursued, and honestly at this point that didn't surprise Yuina. The rockets that were on the island with them in whatever capacity were relentless, they didn't stop or let up for anything and it showed in their many efforts to thwart any attempt any of the league made.[break]
Their truck was effectively being attacked, and Yuina hunkered down to make sure that she wouldn't get knocked out of their vehicle.[break][break]
"Iono, Ember, go for the tires," Yuina called, and the Infernape moved along the frame of the vehicle with his lithe figure and took aim at the vehicles pursuing behind them, starting to spout embers and flame and the tires and the ground in an attempt to melt or pop their tires. They had to thin out their attackers before it got to be too much, but there were already a couple of them descending on them from the air too!

At this point, Thomas could only do his best to keep the vehicle rolling, and the cargo safe, while Rocket forces pursued them. Though the Light Screen provided them some cover, it could only do so much to protect them.

From the rtear of the truck, Cobalt did his best to keep the approaching vehicles at bay, continuing to fire off Aura Spheres, while the Infernape attempted to pop their tires. As for the aerial threats, the Electrode began to fire off Electro Balls towards them. The speed of the Electrode allowed him to fire off potent orbs of electricity.

Despite this, the number of pursuers kept growing, the pressure mounting.

They needed to thin out the number of attackers, and fast, there were already so many rockets encroaching upon their vehicle, Yuina had little hope for being able to make it to their destination... In fact...[break]
"We need to go a different way, we can't lead them to the camp," Yuina said over the rushing wind and the volleying attacks, they couldn't risk bringing an entire ambush party to the location of their league camp, they'd compromise everything![break][break]
Clung to the side of the vehicle, spitting fire at the vehicles behind them, Iono screeched at how many enemies were approaching them. The Infernape instead took to leaping from their vehicle using Acrobatics for good measure to land fist first on the hood of one of the opposing vehicles, and with a Mach Punch went straight through the hood and into the motor. The vehicle sputtered, and stalled almost immediately, causing another to crash behind them, and from there he leaped to another Vehicle that was still in pursuit, intending to take them out with his bare fists now.

Thomas looked over, watching as their Rocket pursuers increased in numbers. Yuina's suggestion to take a detour was quickly noted, as Thomas turned the vehicle down a different, more scenic path.

Following the lead of the Infernape, Cobalt hopped off of the truck. Using his Extreme Speed to meet the vehicles head on, the Lucario would smash into the engine blocks of the vehicles with singular, violent strikes of his Meteor Mash.

Upon crumpling their engines, the Lucario would move onto the next vehicle, just as the Infernape was.

Meanwhile, the Electrode had a plan. Upon seeing that the Rocket forces were beginning to bottleneck on the path, the living bomb rolled off of the truck. Once they were far enough away, and the Rockets were close enough, the Electrode would glow, before going out in one last Explosion.

The explosion was deafening, and shook the vehicle as they sped onwards leaving the destruction behind, and Iono had barely managed to race his way back to the vehicle and collapsed in the back amongst their supplies, knocked out from the force of the explosion. Surely that had left most if not all of the vehicles incapable of following them, but that did still leave the offending rockets that were pursuing them from above. Yuina returned Iono, the fire type had done enough work and she hoped that he would be alright.[break]
"We might have to reroute, if we can't shake them, we can't bring the supplies to the base... we'll have to keep fighting until we get rid of them all, or lose them somewhere," Yuina remarked, this was far more dangerous than she could have fathomed, and they were far from safe to be able to deliver the items they were trying to bring to their camp.

Despite the Extreme Speed which the Lucario dashed, the steely jackal barely escapes the Explosion. Like the Inferape, the Lucario collapses, being knocked out by the damage done. Thomas sighed, and recalled his Lucario.

The worst part of the sacrifice was that it failed to account for the numerous airborne threats on their trail. "Yuina, got anything that you can fly out on?", he'd ask her. Whatever her answer was, Thomas had the same response. "We need to bail. Cut our losses. I'm driving this thing off the cliff. On my signal, jump out!", Thomas told Yuina.

Thomas would start by sending out his Hydreigon. "Kalameet, get ready for us to bail out!", he'd order the dragon, as he sped for the edge of the cliff. For good measure, he would arm an explosive, to ensure that Rocket couldn't salvage any of the cargo.

"Now!"

Unable to think quite fast enough, Yuina was only barely able to follow what Thomas was saying before it was too late. They were being pursued still, and they weren't going to be able to deliver their supplies, but rather than let the rockets have it...[break]
"Wait what," she shouted, but it was far from opportune. Interdream mist started to kick up around some of the rocks and at the edge of the island as they whizzed past, and no sooner had Yuina fully grasped what was happening, she was clung to Thomas as they jumped, leaving the vehicle behind as it fell from the cliff face.
