What was supposed to be an easy walk to make a quick report about his mission with Josh Devlin , got a lot more complicated a lot faster.

Hideo could've simply had one of his Pokemon teleport him to the League base, had he not exhausted all the ones that could teleport getting Rockets out of there alive. He didn't exactly regret saving them all, but that meant he had to hoof it himself now.

And what should've been an easy walk, was now an ambush by some Rockets that he'd missed from the bunker.

Whoops.

At the moment, Hideo'd taken cover besides a tree, listening as his Aggron was fighting off against a few Rockets' Pokemon. An Orbeetle floated slightly out of cover, watching for Hideo, both to keep tabs on the battle and to make sure none of them tried to sneak around to get at him.

His Aggron was managing to keep back the Houndoom, Trevenant, and Delphox sent against it, but it was managing just that: keeping them back. The other Pokemon Hideo had on him probably wouldn't last long against those Pokemon either.

There was no surprise that in different parts of the southern portion of the region there was an influx in rocket activity, on the mainland and on Dewford. Whether they were directly involved in the war or not, the chaos and panic this was all causing was just bread and butter to the lot of them, giving them open cause to run rampant and kick up trouble where ever they wanted.[break]
There was a very noteable rise in rocket activity in a particular area, and it was unknown what kind of trouble the influx could cause, but clearly they couldn't go unchecked, and the sitation needed to be handled.[break][break]
Mounted on Alossa, the horse ran along the path with Yuina astride his shoulders and donning her ranger's uniform, as she was heading in the specified direction they had started to get reports of a full on battle having broken out. It was time to go on the offensive.[break]
Coming up on the sounds of battle in the very near distance, Yuina prepared herself as the Rapidash rushed forward, huffing with firey hot breath and smoke from his nostrils as they came up on a handful of Pokemon in a battle. She didn't know who was who yet or what was going on, but she held on as Alossa rose onto his back legs and stomped on the ground furiously, sending out a wave of Fire Spins into the fray.[break]

Hideo's Orbeetle warned him of another incoming Pokemon, just as the boy heard the rapid noise of hooves on leaves and sticks. He readied his Mega Bracelet, just in case he had to resort to using it.

But that attack seemed to be aimed at no side in particular, each Pokemon avoiding it by moving back, the Rockets' Pokemon sticking close while Hideo's Aggron moved towards its trainer.

Hideo's trepidation didn't last long, as one of the Rockets spoke.

"Shit, it's a Ranger!"

Oh thank Arceus, reinforcements.

Hideo moved out of his cover for a moment. "Mind helping me with these Rockets?" he shouted. "They're trying to stop me from getting a report to the League!"

One of the Rockets' Pokemon, the Delphox, tried to take a chance to shoot a Mystical Fire at the boy, but an incoming Rock Tomb came flying from the Aggron, dissipating the attack and hitting the Delphox head-on.

Alossa stomped furiously on the ground, his flames spread out around him in waves as he huffed, and Yuina looked out to the area as the handful of Pokemon and people dispersed for that quick moment. She heard someone to the side call out, labeling her as a ranger, and that gave her the information she needed to identify the rockets as they glanced at each other. On the other side though, a voice called out to her, and she looked down to find a young boy coming out from behind a tree. He was trying to deliver information to the league? Hmm... He seemed... A bit young, to be caught up in the middle of something like this? But in any case, she couldn't just leave him here.[break][break]
Yuina was getting ready to answer, but the offending Pokemon were going at it again now that the rockets knew they needed to up the ante. Alossa turned and heaved a heavy Inferno out, causing most of them to jump back. The other attack was caught by a very large horned Pokemon that seemed to be with the boy. Yuina hopped down from Alossa, the horse was keeping the rockets back, but it would only be for another moment more, she was sure it wasn't going to be this easy.[break]
"Okay, come on, we need to get out of here fast," she offered, and moved to help him up onto Alossa if he needed it before they could get going.

As much as Hideo wanted to take down these Rockets, he was much more eager to get out of here and make his report. He rushed over to the woman, his Orbeetle floating behind him. "Yeah, the sooner the better," he said, gladly accepting her aid.

Before he could climb up, the opposing Trevenant disappeared into its own shadow, a Phantom Force carrying it over from where the Rapidash came in from. It emerged from the shadows, cutting them off from an easy escape.

Not good.

"Crap," Hideo muttered, his Orbeetle keeping him aware of what was going on. "Dunno if we can just run…you take the Trevenant."

Hideo took out his Mega Bracelet, the bracelet lighting up as a bright energy enveloped the Aggron. When the light disappeared, the Aggron had Mega Evolved, armor covering its body.

As if on cue, both the Houndoom and the Delphox fired off attacks at the Mega Aggron, the Mega Pokemon deflecting both blasts of fire with a Protect. Just as the flames disappeared, the Aggron was already on the attack, a Body Press crushing the Delphox into unconsciousness.

Which still left the Trevenant, who was ready to attack Hideo and the woman who came to save him.

While they were thinning out the offending rockets, they still had their work cut out for them. Yuina stood close to the boy, they hadn't been able to make their escape yet as a strange looking tree moved through the shadows and cut off Alossa's path, the horse rearing up with huffing breaths. The boy's large armored Pokemon surged with energy, it looked like the same kind of energy for Mega Evolution, and it was able to easily take down an orange fox Pokemon that was attacking them.[break]
"Okay, stay close, as soon as we have an opening, we're taking it," Yuina returned, and the Rapidash huffed again at the tree that had blocked his way. She knew that running and escaping was only going to get them so far, they were likely to be pursued and would need to keep up the fight, but for now, they needed to get on the road.[break][break]
The horse stomped furiously on the ground and released another Inferno at the tree, and in that moment that the Pokemon was encompassed in flame, that was their shot.[break]
"Okay now," Yuina called, moving as quickly and swiftly as she could to help the boy up onto the horse's back. The Rapidash kicked his back legs for good measure, trying to clear their immediate area, and Yuina clamored onto his back.[break]
"Alossa, go!" And they raced off in a trail of smoke.

Escape had certainly been one of Hideo's goals here, but his previous position was precarious; had he Mega Evolved his Aggron earlier, the Rockets might've tried turning their attention towards a squishier target: him. His Orbeetle might've been able to fend off one of the Pokemon, but that'd still leave one other Pokemon to get him.

But his rescuer's arrival tipped the odds in his favor; with this opportunity, he could truly fight back. And the Delphox's KO already made it clear that the fight was in their favor…though he wasn't sure if the Rockets had other Pokemon to send out.

So he didn't object to the woman's offer to escape. He nodded as she detailed her plan, and scurried atop the Rapidash with her (and his Orbeetle's) help. He was quick to retrieve his Aggron's Pokeball, recalling it the moment he felt the Rapidash start to race ahead.

Though as the woman feared, the Rockets wouldn't let them go so easily: the Houndoom was hot on their trail, and one of the Rockets let out a black Tauros to pursue as well.

"Craaaaaap," Hideo groaned. "Orby, can you do something to slow them down?"

The Orbeetle nodded, letting out a Struggle Bug to slow down the two pursuers. It had a decent effect, though the two Pokemon would still be chasing after them.

Starting off in their run, there was little surprise that they were immediately pursued as Alossa sped off. Situated with the boy and clung to the Rapidash's saddle, Yuina looked back to find a canine of some kind and a Tauros following them. Thinking as fast as she was capable, Yuina knew that they had to keep up the speed, they couldn't stop to fight if they could help it. She took out a Pokeball and as the boy's bug buzzed passed to try and slow down the two Pokemon, that gave Yuina time to send out Nimbus.[break][break]
The Raichu rushed forward on his tail, his fur sparking over, and he released a Thunderbolt at the pair of Pokemon to try and slow them down more. Electricity crackled over the two black Pokemon, but they were far from through as the dog released a Dark Pulse and the Tauros stomped on the ground furiously with a Stomping Tantrum.[break]
The ground shook violently, and Alossa huffed and reared back as rocks jutted up from the ground, blocking them and diverting their path again. Looking back, Yuina saw Nimbus falling to the ground after tanking both of the attacks, she returned the Raichu, but she could still see electricity sparking over the two Pokemon, they just had to keep going...[break]
"Okay, that might be our chance to book it," Yuina directed Alossa off in a different direction now, speeding away in hopes of losing the two Pokemon.

At this point, Hideo could do little but rely on this woman and her Rapidash to get them out of here - and for their Pokemon to keep the Rockets away from them. His Orbeetle put some good work in, but it could only do so much to slow them down and stay near Hideo.

The Raichu did a number on their attackers, but those two attacks took it down fast - a foreboding sign of what'd happen if they tried to stick around..

But it did give the Orbeetle an opportunity; it extended a hand forward, Psychic energy gathering around the black Tauros. It'd been weakened enough by the Raichu, and the Orbeetle was able to toss it right at the Houndoom - a favored loophole to get around the latter's Dark typing.

It'd give the woman's Rapidash enough time to escape from their pursuers - and it'd seem that they hadn't been followed. At least not yet.

"So, uh," Hideo said, lightening her grip on the woman, "thanks for the help. Do you...know where we are now?"

It was hard to keep himself orientated direction-wise while being chased - especially on a mount he wasn't directing.
