The ocean is turbulent perhaps reflecting the chaos in the tunnels on the beach ahead. Reports of rabid HEATRAN and UNSTABLE GROUND, were numerous, and Paxton was on a little ship, trying to make it to shore fast enough so he could provide much needed support for those trying to escape the fire types with their lives. [break][break]

Joules keeps watch, diligently searching the waters around them for potential underwater threats. As Paxton's crew cuts through choppy waters he radios in, "Cassidy moving in with 3rd squad, no enemy ships within reach yet." he informed the command watching and watching on his appointed seat on the deck.

Sunset falls upon the ocean's turbulent waves, decades of uncertainty crashing against Dewford's rocky shore. The dissonance is so similar and yet so different from the Ultra Deep Sea warfront months ago. Pink INTERDREAM mist still leaks from the outside, undoubtedly causing barriers for the race that was going on within — who knew what monsters lay within those caverns? Heatran, Eternatus, whatever unstable beasts that Rocket undoubtedly lay waste to in order to get to their chosen goal.

[break][break] Jayden would have normally found himself there too. But today?

[break][break] His goal today was far more severe.

[break][break] No need for disguises. Jayden already recognized him, for that day in the Ultra Deep Sea.

Paxton, were he a weaker man, would've frozen hearing his name called out so angrily on the battlefield. To his credit, he flinches for a second before pulling up his rifle to get ready and turning towards the source. "Shit-" he hissed as Joules rushed in front of him. [break][break]

They glow and shimmer activating a MIRROR COAT as Paxton pulls out another pokemon at the ready. A CLAUNCHER materializes and gets ready to assist Joules using WATER PULSE to try to push back the ghosts. [break][break]

Paxton pulls back the safety and takes aim. "I think I'm good." he shouted back at the angry Rocket. Though, he can't help but add. "How do you know my name?"

Paxton wonders quietly from what, but he's sure the Rocket would elaborate. As he takes aim at the masked Rocket, he begins to pull the trigger right as the Haunter attacks. The rifle goes off but the way it does is all wrong. It shoots from his hand, kick back sending skittering out of his grasp before his Clauncher can rush in with a CRABHAMMER to separate the Haunter from his trainer. [break][break]

Joules attacks as well, trusting their trainer to the water type. They begin to build energy up before blasting upwards a ZAP CANON right at the Dragapult. [break][break]

"Oh, sorry about that." Paxton said moving back form the Haunter and reaching to his side, hand resting on a knife. [break][break]

"I don't normally let them live." he said, remembering the mask and the person he'd been trying to kill. Irritating and difficult a battle. He'd lost good pokemon that day, trying to take him out.

The punch lands square into his face. Clean and exact. But it's because Ogni lets it. She knows better than to dodge an attack at close range like that; her master had taught her.

[break][break] Pain was important, but pain was powerful. It resonates in her, thrumming loudly, as a PAYBACK explodes right back at the Clauncher.

[break][break] As the Dragapult blurs with AGILITY, manifesting several clones, the ZAP CANNON cuts through them. The hallucinations dissipate into thin air, shattering into the air like mist.

"Sorry, if I don't excel as a bloodthirsty murderer, Rocket." Paxton countered, doing his best to hold back the old irritation simmering under the surface. He always got the mouthiest of Rocket, didn't he? His Clauncher is smacked across the deck through PAYBACK. [break][break]

"At least I don't need my little friend to avenge me when I go home half dead." he added as he moves to pick up his rifle again, tearing away form the battle between ghost and lobster. [break][break]

Joules switches gears, literally, preparing a FLASH CANON this time and aiming it directly at Yoru instead of the Dragapult. They drop slightly, trying to block line of sight towards Paxton. Meanwhile, his Clauncher begins to coalesce shining power, TERA TYPING into a WATER TYPE as a crystal crown materializes before launching itself at the Haunter with a fierce AQUA JET

The AQUA JET streams forward like a bolt of lightning, slamming into the Haunter without preamble. A DESTINY BOND leaks, coalescing around both ghost and crustacean both.

[break][break] Jayden's eyes blister white and blue as he glares at the LEAGUE officer. Just like all the others, the embodiment of all his bitterness and hatred.

[break][break] He was the one who had set Ashley Shepard on that awful path. He was the one who had given him hope.

[break][break] Regardless of whether it was or not, it didn't matter. Not to him.

[break][break] "You're right," he growls in response to the other's words. "You don't."

[break][break] The FLASH CANNON shoots off, beads of light spinning towards the Admin. But his Dragapult is faster, sweeping him up in a PHANTOM FORCE, disappearing from sight.

[break][break] And seconds later, appearing right behind Paxton, thrusting a set of knives towards the officer's spine.

For now, his Clauncher is satisfied, not noticing the DESTINY BOND that had sealed his fate. He pulses with wet energy as another WATER PULSE leaves him he has the Haunter so close. [break][break]

Paxton tenses see something change in the Rocket's mask. He's unsure of its a light effect of their disguise or what but they disappear, and Joules beeps worriedly. Multiple eyes dart and zoom, trying to find the Admin and their ghost pokemon. [break][break]

Joules sees Yoru and Vahagn before Paxton does as he looks for his rifle to recover it. Joules darts forward uttering two long beeps that Paxton just barely interpreted as move. He tries to sidesteps, but the knife still makes contact, just not with his coveted spine. Instead is plunges into skin, circling his side. [break][break]

He tries to grab Yoru's wrist, digging in his fingers into the wrist to force him to drop the knife, and trying to yank him forward while cursing loudly. [break][break]

"Better men- have tried!" he snarls, telling him the very same thing he had told Ashley Shepard that fateful date. "I'll blow my own brains out before I ever let scum like you kill me." he added a Joules charged, trying to slam herself into the Dragapult as Paxton contended with the admin. Pure adrenaline mixing with fury is the only thing that keeps him from succumbing to the bloody pain. "I'm not another notch in your kill count, you are."

The last of the WATER PULSE ends Ogni's life. Trained to kill, trained to be killed. Water splashes into the ghost pokemon and disintegrates it into air, the resulting DESTINY BOND aiming to squeeze the remaining life out of the thing that killed her.

[break][break] Hands circle around his wrist, but the Cursed is not willing to let go. Not when the product of all his HATRED is right in front of him.

[break][break] Just like freya morningstar, just like MATIAS SILPH, just like FERNANDO SILPH.

[break][break] Any member of the League that had participated in the loss of both Isaac Merlo and Ashley Shepard were to blame.

[break][break] Ice crystallizes around his skin in frostbitten shards, forming around his sygnasuit and rippling rapidly towards paxton concordas's own. If the officer did not wrestle away, he would find himself similar vexed as the Cursed was.

[break][break] With uncontrollable HATE.

[break][break] "If you think I'm afraid of death," he said, with a snarl, gripping tighter around his blade. An elbow juts forward in an attempt to break the other's ribs. "You are dead wrong."

[break][break] 'There are things worse than death,' he had once admitted to fern delaney in the quiet of a forgotten memory as the poison encroached on their beloved Ballonea.

[break][break] As the Magnezone slams into Vahagn, an INFESTATION begins — tiny dragons of darkness slipping forward like poisonous worms, slipping both towards the pokemon and it's master.

DESTINY BOND squeezes tight on the body of his Clauncher, crushing internal organs until it can't breath before it falls dead on the deck of the ship. [break][break]

Paxton grimaces as he struggles to get Yoru to drop the knife before watching horrified as ice grows and thickens around the Admin's hands. He briefly thinks of Articuno and the ex Head Ranger Laurence Anderson before shaking his head No they were still bonded so then- [break][break]

His heart drops slightly as he runs through the creatures running around Hoenn with an affinity for ice. "Fuck-" he murmurs as the list begins to shrink. [break][break]

"I think you're afraid you can't take me with you." he hissed. Paxton wouldn't allow it. "Your death will be wasted, Rocket." he snarled grunting at the elbow before doing the only thing he can do and bashing his helmet against Yoru's as he tries to kick him off and put up distance again. [break][break]

His right hand goes to his hip patting down a pouch at his waist as he hurried to pull out his own knife. The only real a sniper really had when caught in close range. [break][break]

Paxton is wholeheartedly occupied with Yoru, so Joules must stay vigilant blasting another ZAP CANNON at the Dragapult, and having the electric beam cut across the deck to follow the little shadow dragons that threatened to pull down Paxton while he was busy thinking of the best way to show Yoru off the ship. The beam goes wild as Joules is overtaken by the ghost types baby dragons, letting out shrill screeches in a vague pattern as they fell to the deck of the ship.
