CONTRARY TO ITS NAME, THE MAJORITY OF THE ULTRA DEEP SEA IS A VAST CAVE-LIKE WORLD. Shafts of light from an unknown source barely penetrate the dark, causing colorful diamond-like rocks to glisten against humid walls. The dim lighting makes the place seem like you're thousands of leagues under the sea... Eerily, an unceasing pulse can be heard like a heart beat that rumbles throughout the realm.[break][break]

Oddly enough, one is able to "swim" through this realm like Water-type Pokemon floating in air.[break][break]

One may stumble upon deep, cold pools of dark water and alien seaweed as they scout out the realm. Segments of this place open up into an astral sea, where islands of mysterious stone are suspended mid-air.

Despite all the oddities that had manifested within the Ultra Sea, it had been the first opportunity he had to investigate. It was a world of its own truly, the way he could dive down as though swimming in the ocean, but breathe as though exposed to air. As he reached the sea's floor, Schuyler pressed the soles of his shoes against the ground and managed to step forward. He could see why now that this couldn't be a solo mission.

Though he couldn't quite get a read on his partner. The mission debriefing described her as an 'assassin.' Seemed like Team Rocket prided themselves in having people willing to do their dirty work. It's not like it took much to kill a person. A hand around the throat, a swift twist of the neck -- it didn't leave a bloodied mess. But some people fell passionate about the art of killing. Maybe he could get notes from the silver-haired slaughterer.

Slime coated the ocean floor and seemed to grow more apparent as he made his approach towards the sunken ship ahead. Intuition told him it was best to avoid the contamination. It also told him to be wary of the fish pokemon that seemed to roam the waters. They seemed ravenous, starving. And the sound of the heartbeat deep within the ocean's depths seemed to make their state all the more maddening. Schuyler could feel himself grow agitated with the way his own pulse began to sync with the drone deep within the Ultra Sea.

"Papers can only tell us so much," he offered in an attempt to get his mind off of the maddening sound of the deep sea's heartbeat. "Schuyler's the name. I'm new to the whole Rocket thing so I don't have an 'official' title. I saw something about assassin on yours. Please, enlighten me."

The way he spoke seemed well practiced, like he'd thought the conversation over in his head prior to their mission. It seemed to become a habit of his since he didn't want to step on any toes and make enemies where he didn't need to have them.

Camellia's first reaction to the depths of the sea were dread. There was certainly no way she would survive this mission in five minutes, and she was beginning to think Rocket or otherwise were just sending her away to kill her off.[break][break]

She expecting the burning sensation of water flooding her lungs when she gave in and breathed — yet it didn't happen. Even though she seemed to float in the water, she could breathe normally.[break][break]

"Strange. This is Ultra Space..."[break][break]

The sea floor was slick on her boots, but she didn't slip, instead regarding their surroundings as if she was surveying for danger. Until the man next to her decided to speak.[break][break]

Crimson eyes flicked toward him, barely giving his presence a thought. Camellia considered ignoring his question. They needn't entertain one another.[break][break]

"I'm not an assassin for Rocket, unless they pay up," she replied simply. "The division is more... beneficial for me, in the mean time," she explain vaguely.[break][break]

The thumping noise, as though a heartbeat was ever present, was rather distracting.[break][break]

Beneficial. Something about that word felt chalky on his tastebuds. Nevertheless, he could read the room in the assassin's curt words. Not much of a talker, he could respect that. Lips drew downward into a frown as she took the lead. His attention fell elsewhere as he caught a glimpse of the outline of something on the horizon. Brows furrowed as he took the first few step towards it, and the closer he got, the more it looked like some sort of futuristic ship. A hand reached up to the hull as he brushed a few barnacles off mixed with some caked on mud. With each brush, he began to uncover letters.

The name didn't ring a bell in the slightest. But it was obviously there for a reason, and that reason was to be investigated further. As he felt along the ship with some sense of intent, a hatch finally opened that allowed them entry. Schuyler took the liberty to board the ship first, then offered a hand out to Camellia. Whether or not she took it was up to her. But once the pair had boarded, the viscous adhesive from outside of the ship seemed more prominent. Had it come from the ship? Or better yet, something aboard the ship?

"Given this is uncharted territory for the both of us, it's better that we work together."

His tone fell flat, but it was obvious that the words weren't quite a suggestion, nor a demand. If she chose to disagree, then so be it. But he wouldn't come rushing to help if whatever was on this ship decided to attack. With the thought pushed aside, he began to try a variety of doors in hopes they could find some sort of clue. Some didn't budge. Others seemed like emptied personal rooms. Broken mirrors, dilapidated furniture, it had all seen better days, that was for sure. Then again, the outer part of the ship seemed that way, too.

[attr="class","cam"]Camellia had almost ignored her partner, until her near scarlet gaze tracked him near the hull of the ship. She followed behind, standing silently as he uncovered the image.

With a quick decipher, she spoke it out loud. "Quaestor lucis." Her finger brushed over her lip as she contemplated for a moment. "A person, or perhaps it was the name of the ship," she suggested, separating from him again.

It seemed more fitting of a name for a ship in her eyes, though she'd been proven wrong before.

Camellia knocked her fist along the flats of metal, though her partner's call distracted her as he seemed to have found the hatch that allowed them aboard. She approached his side again, giving him a look.

"I'm not an uncooperative person, Mr. Tate," she said with a scoff, though she did not take his hand as she climbed into the ship without his help.

She began to investigate the other side, opening several doors without much avail. However, as she came to what she assumed was the captain's quarters or the control room, something startled her. A deep red oozed forward, tainting the waters around her. She covered her face, avoiding the inhalation of this substance.

"Blood?"

But even more disturbing was an organ-like structure at the center of the station, pulsing. And it seemed with each beat, more and more "blood" spilled forth.

"Schuyler. We have a situation."
