Raju Mystic CAUGHT THE STARAVIA!

This strange lady took his offer and sat down next to him. Then started to explain a little about the suit. "How does it know what two Pokemon you're closest to?" Unless you actually say something, he found it hard that such a suit can actually tell, let alone morph its appearance by itself. It was a man made thing, after all. Then she asked a...wierd question. Furrowing his brows, he thought on it. It took a little bit before his eyes betrayed recognition. "People bestowed with powers from legendary Pokemon. I've heard and found rumors, but nothing to confirm or deny their existance." At least not officially.

Some commotion attracted his attention. Typhon was in the middle of a fight with a Greninja. Those were fast Pokemon. And actually could be more useful than just for the gym. Taking out a Pokeball, he just waited. After a Hurricane that sent the ninja flying into a nearby tree, he threw the pokeball. That was a good partner for Samurai...that could be a fun combination in a double battle. Looking back at the lady, he tried to keep in mind of what she was saying...

There were a lot of questions Shalin could not answer about Sygna Suits. This was one she did not know the answer to for sure, but she had an idea. "I think it has to do with the materials needed to craft the suit. I don't know for sure, though; I'm still learning a lot of things about my suit. I just know that it... makes me feel like I'm my Pokémon, and that being flicked and flung around super fast doesn't make me hurt or feel sick at all."

As Raju demonstrated basic understanding of what an Avatar was, Shalin nodded. "Wearing a Sygna Suit is a lot like being an Avatar, but the extent of your powers isn't so world-bending like a true Avatar's are." She was trying to understand her own powers' limits, too. Transportation by being launched from a whip was incredibly fast, but she needed a Pokémon that could catch her before she crash-landed.

She was about to further elaborate when she heard a loud humming motion from the shore. When she stood up and jogged toward the water to investigate, she saw a badly wounded Floatzel whirling her tails loudly to try to get the attention of her packmates. Feeling bad for it, she laid a Sitrus Berry in front of the large water-type. The whirling and humming stopped, the natural cure appearing to take effect. While she was eating up, Shalin tapped the wild on the head with a Poké Ball. "Gotta get this girl to Ranger HQ in Lilycove when we go back," she remarked.

She wasn't entirely sure how the suit worked or built herself. Shalin just gave a guess and how it felt. Interesting. Something to be aware of in the future. Then she went into a little more detail, like how it was similar to being an Avatar. Or at least what most people would think being one would be like. Just without the world bending powers. And also caught a Pokemon. "So you're not entirely sure. Just estimated guesses. Something that the League keeps pretty confidential?" That would make sense. Looking over at his bait, he noticed something that he only saw in his...well, not homeland, but probably close enough. A Palafin. While they were busy eating, Raju threw a dive ball at it, hopefully catching it by surprise enough for a capture.

"It's more that every person's suit is a unique manifestation of the bond between Pokémon and wearer," Shalin elaborated. "Two people with the exact same Pokémon can have very different suits. Even another person with a Venusaur suit would be unlikely to use it to travel by Vine Whip, for instance." It was really a combination of her two Sygna Pokémon that made that possible, her Venusaur flinging her forward on one of her giant vines, her Flygon catching her before she hit something at ludicrous speed and suffered real harm.

It may have been best that Raju sought to capture the Palafin; behind the creature was a Sharpedo on the prowl, looking to make a meal out of the Pokémon. Shalin had other ideas, though. Brazen ones. While the predator was busy fighting its prey, Shalin slid down the slippery, steep slope toward the lake, landing on the shark's back! She palmed an empty Poké Ball before grabbing onto the dark-type's tall fin with both hands. The way she held it, it would fall onto the wild as soon as it would dislodge her, or she felt it was going to buck her off imminently.

The shark entered a RAGE, upset that there was a pesky human sitting on it. Bucking and writhing to try to unseat Shalin, her blood was pumping from her first-time aquatic rodeo. She pushed on the wild's steering fin, finding she had limited capability to control her unruly mount's direction. Shalin looked like she was having the time of her life fighting against the strong sea creature, though it was difficulty to see from the mist and spray of the splashing water.

That laughing and giggling stopped when the Sharpedo fired up her AQUA JET, zipping around the lake faster than the quickest speedboat in Hoenn. The first sharp turn the water-type made felt like it was going to tear her apart. When raw strength had failed to unseat her, the Pokémon used speed instead. A second turn caused her to lose her grip on the Pokémon, the Poké Ball in her palm dropping to encapsulate it. Whew, what a ride!

Ah, so she did know a bit more. After he had captured the Palifin, he saw the Sharpedo, that Shalin decided to antagonize. Sadly, he couldn't keep a good eye on what was happening. It looked fun though. Much like how he enjoyed it when Big Bert gave him fits and tried to buck him. Anyways, she ended getting bucked off, dropping a pokeball and capturing it. Kind of funny. Okay, Raju had to stifle a small giggle. The entire thing did scare off a Feebas. Oh well. His smaller than average Gyarados swam over to where she landed and offered to help her to land. Whether she took it or not was up to her. "You could give Big Bert a run for his money. If that was any indication." He may stick around only for a little bit more, just to see if any others of interest arrive.

Shalin was happy to accept the aquatic serpent's help; with how hard that Sharpedo was bucking and writhing, it had worn her out. Their strength was amazing. She couldn't wait to take the Pokémon back to her Romping Grounds in Petalburg Woods and rodeo with it again in a more controlled environment.

"If he doesn't mind!" A huffing but excited Shalin answered as she slid off the Gyarados and back onto dry land again, her uniform dripping water. "That sounds like a really fun challenge! Big Bert looks strong. Not today, though." As much as she enjoyed it, there was only so much struggling against a Pokémon she could handle in a single day.

Shalin took Typhon up on the offer of help. And the gal seemed excited at the prospect. "He's my main ground battler, a Paldean Tauros, Blaze Breed specifically. He's always up for any test of strength." He showed her a picture of him on his phone. It was a bit of a funny one, with Brownie the Paldean Wooper on BB's head. He was in solid agreement on it not being right now. Jigawatt squaked, and unleashed a Thunderbolt. Turning, he saw a Corvisquire avoid it and go for a Fury Attack. Only to get smacked by an Aqua Tail. And zapped by an Electro Ball. Taking out a Pokeball, he threw it. After this one, he'd be done. Flying types weren't a bad haul. With three new flyers, that should give him enough of a variety. Two more water types were great, but the day was soon to be done...and he better head back. "I'm sure we can make that rodeo happen. But I think it's time for me to head back." With a final nod and maybe even a handshake, and showing her his phone number, he'd depart on Typhon. She...was certainly an interesting one...

Shalin's eyes lit up, Big Bert seeming to agree to her challenge. She would later get experience with Eduardo Hisakawa 's Aqua Breed Tauros, and Beau had some real buck to him. How would this compare to that? If she knew fire-types well, she might expect less finesse and more raw strength. "It has been a bit of a long day, hasn't it? Think I'm gonna crash in Lilycove tonight. I'll have to text you when a good day for this is. Being a Captain's kept me busier than I'd like."

Once the Mauville Gym Trainer and Shalin had parted ways, the green girl clicked open Flit's Poké Ball and hopped on -- in his saddle and not on his wing this time. Without Sandy's Infinity Energy fueling her, the vibrations of his takeoff felt just like sitting on his wing while wearing her Sygna Suit. She loved every moment of it, though, even reining the Yanmega back and forth with amazing precision that yanked her back and forth.

There truly was nothing like travel by flying insect, was there?
