It'd been awhile, since Ettie had truly taken the time to lurk here. It didn't feel as though there was much left for the route to offer in the way of exploration - and it didn't help that she passed through here regularly, whenever she lingered around Fortree for a short while.

But with the shifting seasons, and the ever-colder winters, things changed about the route as well - the pokemon, the environment... Perhaps there'd be something to be found, if they looked around here?

Accompanied by some of her pack, and tugging a coat tighter around herself, Ettie prowled amongst the wilds of 120 - more than eager to see what they may find...

What would meet Ettie's ears today was much barking and yapping.[break][break]

From the back of a Firagarif, Tempest lingered next to a tree. A Reniculous hovered next to him, peering up in the copse of the high branches. At it's base, four 'dogs' of all shapes and sizes barked and yapped. Hunting, then; and they had something ran up the tree.[break][break]

Tempest shifted, Compass, his steed, snorting lightly. She glanced over her shoulder, ears pricking, in the vaguest of directions towards where Ettie might be. Her eyes were narrowed, colder than a Glaciate, as she readied herself for...[break][break]

"Shh. It's alright." Tempest muttered to her, smoothing a hand down the back of her neck. His pokemon relaxed, but he, too, turned his head. After a long searching moment of nothing, he turned away to peer back into the tree.

The distant barks would make Ettie perk up, curious. Was there another pack in the area? With how much barking there was, it certainly sounded like that - and something must have had them worked up.

Ettie's own canids, too, would perk up at the sounds - and safe to say, a couple of them were enthused at the ruckus! Ruffian was eager to investigate a potential fight - whereas Duchess, she was just eager for a potential opportunity to play!

But at Anne's and Anat's leads, the group took a more measured approach than just 'burst onto the scene and see whats going on'. With Ettie in the front, the pack slowly approached - looking to get close enough to catch sight of the situation.

First thing to come into view was Compass - the tall Farigiraf's dark coloration, particularly on the head, a noticeable contrast to the snow-covered trees around them. Next, came the sight of Tempest Quinn and his Reuniclus, investigating the tree. Then finally was the quartet of canid pokemon, who were quite eagerly barking up at something in the boughs.

Whatever was up there was a mystery - Ettie couldn't quite see anything from here, but Anat could sense the aura of something.

Even with the cold gaze that Compass directed in their general directions though, Ettie figured that these seemed like an alright bunch! So, with Anne and Anat at either side, she'd step forth - announcing herself with a couple friendly yaps of her own! "Hello! Friends!" She greeted, wiggling the same way that a dog might wiggle when trying to wag a too-short tail.

The rest of the pack emerged as well - but for the most part held back... Aside from Duchess, well, looking like she's about to vibrate at the exact frequency to open a rift into Ultra Space from her excitement. She, in fact, immediately drops into a play bow - tail wagging as she gives a couple barks of her own in greeting!

Shifting from the grass caught his pack's attention. Out of habit, the Reniculus Imprisoned the area, to put it on lockdown. Tempest just glanced over, sharp eyed and tense. But, when Ettie and her own pack breached he relaxed. A sharp whistle had his pokemon stopping their hungry staring as well. Most of them lingered back, but the Arcanine lumbered forward.[break][break]

She was a massive beast, fluffy and rough looking. She only stuck her tongue out, matching Dutchess' energy and taking her own play position. Wagging her massive tail, she leaped at the Manectric to try and get the electric type to chase her.[break][break]

The Bolthund and Dashbun wandered over idly from the tree, slower moving and more timid. They stiff offered snouts and sniffs in curiosity. Only Hati stayed behind, the Eevee doggishly yipping at whatever was in the tree.[break][break]

"Hi there. Good to see another dog lover." Tempest offered a tight but genuine smile, hoping the girl wouldn't recognize him. He gave her a curious look, then peered up into the tree once again.[break][break]

"Is that your pokemon?"[break][break]

Pointing up into the boughs, an... Overquil was stuck in some branches. Tempest frowned up at it, still as confused as when he had found it....[break][break]

With the pack of playing canines, a Mabosstiff had joined in the play... but Tempest just figured it was the girl's, so he ignored it. It would only be later when it tried to follow him home that he would realize it was wild.

Duchess did not care about size - a friend is a friend, after all! With happy excited barks, she's absolutely ready to run on after the Arcanine! Running was her favorite thing to do! She'll run run run as much as her new friend wants!

(Princess would casually power-walk to follow after Duchess and her new playmate, not seeming quite as energetic.)

Yip, on the other hand, had taken note of the Imprison that the Reuniculus had used not long ago - and in observing the effect, would begin to Sketch it for herself.

The rest of the pack was happy to get to know the Dachsbun and Bolthund, meanwhile - their demeanors generally friendly, or otherwise simply relaxed.

Ettie didn't seem to recognize Tempest - instead just smiling brightly to him. "Ettie loves pack!" And casting a meaningful glance to Tempest's other pokemon, she'd add "Friend has good-pack, too!" He had some canid pokemon that she hadn't met before - and that was extra curious, if you asked her!

But, the question of whether something was hers drew her attention - and glancing up, she'd... See a fish pokemon, of some form, in a tree? "... No..?" She responded after a second - clearly befuddled by this whole situation. Who was this? Whose pokemon was it? How'd it get up there?

... Ettie was pretty sure trying to ponder this any more would give her a headache.

At the very least, it appeared a wild Ambipom had come along to try and figure out the Overqwil's situation, while a Castform observed from another tree. So, perhaps this poor fish would be out of here soon enough.

"Huh." While Ettie spoke, Tempest's gaze had strayed back up into the tree. The Overquill seemed to be struggling, wobbling around and flapping tiny fins and such, while an Ambipom seemed to be trying to push it out. With little success, since the fish was a giant pincushion. A Castform watched on.[break][break]

Shaking his head, Tempest pulled lightly on Compass's reins to have her turn around to face the girl fully. With a swing of the leg, he was dropped off the back of the Giraffe pokemon with one clean movement. Dusting himself off, he gave her a grin and jerked over his shoulder with him thumb to point behind him.[break][break]

"Well, I think those guys have that figured out. I'm out here hunting for a few pokemon for research purposes. Wanna help me look?" Pointing at Ettie's dogs with his chin, he figured she would understand why he wanted to pair up.

He was here looking for some pokemon? Ettie would perk up a bit at the suggestion of them working together - to which she'd nod, smiling bright. "Okay! Ettie-pack can help!" She chirped happily, nodding. They were good at tracking and hunting - surely, whatever Friend here was looking for, they'd be able to find it in no time as a group!

But, that did raise a question. Cocking her head a little, she questions "What Friend hunting for?" It was important to know what you were looking for, even if it was as vague or simple as 'prey' or as specific as 'a missing person'.

As they discussed the targets of this search, Ettie would whistle to gather the pack, so that they could get moving once more. Overhead, a passing shadow shows... A Bombirdier carrying the Overqwil away?

A few of Ettie's pokemon weren't sure whether to regard this with concern, or just be glad the Overqwil likely won't be stuck for much longer.

However, what ends up grabbing Ettie's attention, is when a lone Poochyena emerges from the undergrowth. She perks up visibly, and crouches down - making a soft, friendly sounding yip, and mimicking a playbow with a little wiggle, like a dog trying to wag a too-short or absent tail.

At first, the Poochyena jolts a bit, seeming startled - and perhaps a bit shy to approach, glancing between the number of people and pokemon present. But seeing the fellow canids, and seeing Ettie's friendly body language, he steps forth gingerly - willing to at least see what this was all about...

Tempest is about to answer, but he sees the Poochyena about the time that Ettie does. He stays quick when the girl seems interested, allowing her to mimic it and make friends. He's amused; this is totally normal to him. There is nothing strange about this scenario at all.[break][break]

After she's done, then he clicks his tongue to call his own little pack over.[break][break]

"There's a collection of weird crystals in the forest around here. I'm trying to see if anything unusual is around them, or if it's making any of the local pokemon sick. I've not seen anything so far, which is a good sign, but no need to stop being diligent."

Crystals? Ettie mulled it over, glancing at her surroundings - as if to get her bearings - before mentioning "Ettie saw crystal!" with a bright and proud smile. She's familiar with this route! And awhile back, she had noticed that a number of weird crystals had popped up here and there...

... Though, really, she hadn't known what to make sense of it, besides that it was like the pretty-shiny-glimmery-ness of when one of her packmates Terastallized.

"Was..." She pauses a second to once more glance about, before pointing. "That way, Ettie thinks! Friends follow!" Already, she's bouncing off alongside her pack - ready to lead the way!

Although, as she passes under a tree - and notes the Honchkrow up above - she's happy to lay out some treats for the corvid. She knows well that you want to be in a local flock's good graces, after all...

(... Though, perhaps it'll come as a surprise then, when said Honchkrow is eventually seen following after her!)
