An explosion of harmless light fills the large cavern as a result. This particular crystal had little power infused into its being. Remiel emerges from the blast unharmed upon ZEKROM's back.[break][break]

And, upon descending to regroup with Freya, they find themselves face-to-face with the muscular red dragon that has designated them as allies.[break][break]

The royal dismounts his patron afterward as it scrutinizes the other with a judging look. "THE WINGED KING..." Remiel mutters with a smile, reaching up to pat the side of its neck. However, the moment doesn't last long as soon as the challenger appears. Though ZEKROM shifts into a battle stance and roars, its AVATAR bids him to stand down with a gesture.[break][break]

"This is their fight. Not ours."

What follows is an explosive clash of ancient power the likes of which Remiel Calcifet hadn't seen in some time. The roaring flames and intermittent quakes threaten their safety regularly as it continues. And, when the pair of KORAIDON are on a COLLISION COURSE for them as they grapple violently with one another, ZEKROM is forced to spawn a SPIKY SHIELD around them.[break][break]

The fiery crash that follows threatens to knock the BLACK YIN and his barrier down as a guttural shriek fills the cavernous chamber. It seemed one of the KORAIDON had finally succumbed to its multiple injuries... but which one?[break][break]

You may have suffered collateral damage in the process. In this small space, avoiding tail swings and grandiose explosions is an arduous endeavor.[break][break]

The Koraidon offers its back to you. You must push onward. As you sprint, glide or climb through the cave, you discover crystalized plant life, including Herba Mystica. Glimmora and Paradox Pokemon wander around you, presumably native to this mysterious place.[break][break]

no, it will always be their fight. as long as gods and legends have allied themselves with the likes of man, their wars are each other's. and so freya releases the digitized version of her salamence, joining zekrom and remiel in the onslaught.

by the end of it, there are scattered scales and feathers, a limping but rejoiceful beast before them. the combatant is on the ground, unmoving and stiff.

when a back is bared to them, freya wipes her brow. it's her first time seeing, on her own, all of the simulation's mentioned flora and fauna. they pass by a flock of roaring moons and she cranes her neck.

the simulation loses its color and when they're done, they're sitting in the lab. she's covered in sweat - as though she'd lived through the heat, the battles. she offers a weary smile to her companion and hands him a water bottle.

The battle is intense and brutal. It certainly doesn't fail to live up to the archaeologist's expectations. At its conclusion, the KORAIDON that has allied itself with them finds bloodied victory.[break][break]

Remiel is only spared a moment to lament the carnage left behind before the simulation dissipates around them. But there's nothing to celebrate here— at least, not in his eyes. The savagery they had just witnessed was better left in that ancient world. It had no place in the IDEAL one he hoped to bring about.[break][break]

"Thank you," He says after sitting up, taking the water bottle that Freya has offered. The royal chugs its entire contents down in mere seconds before offering her one of two hand towels on a metal rolling cabinet by his pod. Afterward, he takes his own and pats himself dry from sweat as well.[break][break]
