Ultra Megalopolis - Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

A RUINED CITY IN ULTRA SPACE. It is unclear whether this is a different universe's Ultra Megalopolis or smaller colony. Regardless, it is a dark city with intermittent sections of flickering, artificial light... Large, black prism-like skyscrapers loom above flat black streets. Much ruin has fallen here, but you get the sense that you're not alone...

🗺️ the BEAST RING can be used to attract ULTRA BEASTS or significantly empower one's own ULTRA BEAST with stunning, solar-like visual effects. when used, it automatically activates the BEAST BOOST ability without needing to knock out a pokemon first.
🗺️ MYSTERIOUS TREASURE can be used to access rooms/buildings/construction sites that suggest that there was an large altar in the process of being created. however, it appears that this altar was unable to be completed.
🗺️ SPECIAL HUNT: kyle lopez & MATIAS SILPH will be able to encounter and catch a GUZZLORD or BLACEPHALON (one or the other). they may be armored or embedded with BLACK METAL &/OR SPARKLING STONES. this material may allow them to unleash devastating Z-MOVES, which makes their subduing and/or capture notoriously difficult. afterward, the material will fall from their bodies as defunct scraps.

the top was just as expected: the final stage of a video game that sets up a final showdown for them to fight on.

the altar that they came from provides access to the top through a broken ceiling. kyle would have come out just then, but he spends a bit more time evaluating the ruins of the previous room.

"doesn't it look like he belongs here?" kyle asks matias as he uncovers various items that vaguely resembles importance to the light. "do you think they'll worship him if we showed him? or will they despair more?"

his solgaleo stands absently on the top floor of the tower, looking below them through the crack.

they have both seen what solgaleo would look like had he not been touched by necrozma. his current appearance was unsightly for those terrorized by the black knight, and he wouldn't be surprised if his appearance breaks what little hope they had.

"either way, let's light things up." he brings the beast ring from his bag and hands it over to matias. "let's see what they have for our boss fight."

"i'm not too familiar with religion and all that stuff but i think it might freak them out."[break][break]

if solgaleo is meant to be their savior and protector then the sight of it covered with black scales would only speak of the impending doom that awaits them. or in the case of what remains of lesser megalopolis, the doom that befell them.[break][break]

his fan rotom floats up into the air, ILLUMINA in nature helping to attract whatever it is that awaits them. acting as a SPOTLIGHT, it does not take too long for the final boss to appear.[break][break]

"it's necrozma."[break][break]

at least a much smaller version of it. its black scales seem to blend into the sky but he spots it, familiar enough to recall his rotom in time before it gets devoured.[break][break]

"let's jump it," he grins at kyle lopez.[break][break]

his kartana, wearing the BEAST RING, flies forward to attempt to GUILLOTINE the necrozma.[break][break]

it does appear, but jumping it proved not to be an option once they saw its entourage.

multiple ultra beasts appear from the wormhole that the necrozma used for its entry, each of them descending one after the other as the welcoming party before the main show starts.

"looks like we can't have the first strike though," he'd jest in what seemed to be a doomed situation in an attempt to make light of their misfortune.

they can still handle it though.

"chrom, the wormhole!" the solgaleo dips its head to acknowledge its trainer's command.

kyle takes a pokeball and throws it ahead of them, revealing the secret weapon that most trainers of hoenn has finally acquired to combat ultra beasts. "robin, you know what to do!"

the silvally leaps out, charging at the base of the stage as it waits for blacephalons and guzzlords to decimate.

the champion turns to matias. there wasn't a need to say anything more as the solution to the problem was obvious. he jerks his head to the direction of the ultra beasts instead as a casual signal to destroy everything in their path to necrozma.

it proves not as simple as they originally thought. necrozma proves crafty, arriving with an entourage of ultra beasts for them to contend with.[break][break]

"this is so scary."[break][break]

what must be a terrifying sight is taken lightly in their case, with years of experience behind them.[break][break]

his kartana adapts quickly, avoiding MIND BLASTS before closing in on a few blacephalon, striking them one after the other before a pokeball catches one.[break][break]

he looks at kyle lopez, then gestures.[break][break]

"we'll clear a path, you can get the first hit in."

the solgaleo remains behind, too focused on its cosmic power to close down the wormhole that the necrozma made and effectively stop the coming of other ultra beasts.

"the alarms must be ringing like crazy down their bunker too," he tells matias as he maps out an easy path from the trail the volatile would be providing them. "i doubt they'll help us unless it reaches further down."

the megalopolans in underground societies were still attempting to live out the rest of their lives, but kyle was pretty sure most of them already gave up on hope.

it felt bad endangering them for conducting this experiment, but with both him and matias, he's certain that damage control would be easy.

he follows with his silvally behind matias, inserting the necrozma memory to activate its rks system along the way.

when a guzzlord blocks their way, a multi-attack from the silvally dispatches it with a critical hit on one of its vitals. kyle takes a pokeball and captures it, if only to stop it from blocking the way.

a last group of ultra beasts remain in front of them. kyle doesn't utter a word and rather waits for matias to take action.

the safety and wellbeing of the underground megalopolans never even occurs to matias as his focus remains solely on the fight they have on their hands; oh, what a great fight it's proving to be.[break][break]

empowered by both the BEAST RING as well as its own BEAST BOOST, kartana's efficiency only improves as it rushes through the entourage before engaging the last group of ultra beasts.[break][break]

it does not take long before the path is clear, leaving necrozma all on its own.[break][break]

with the path open, the silvally takes a running start and pounces onto the necrozma for its final attack.

kyle doesn't sit still while it watches its pokemon take the strike. he drops a pokeball containing his smeargle, activating his sygna suit. the first step he takes with it activates the trainer move: type wish. a field that boosts dark-type moves covers the stage for his pokemon, though it wouldn't be his only move.

pseudo-avatarship happens consequently, borrowing an ability from the smeargle on the field. roar of time loses its efficiency with each level of bastardization, but it's enough to hold the necrozma in its place.

a pink slash from his smeargle's tail cuts through space and creates a gash of spatial rend on the necrozma's armor, enough for kyle's silvally to take advantage of.

multi-attack, powered up by a silvally memory effective specifically on necrozma, strikes it down on the first second of contact with assistance.

it still baffles him how underutilized kyle lopez is when the man is arguably the league's best trainer, weapon, and tool. he watches in both wonder and admiration as kyle handles the necrozma with trained ease, utilizing tools and gimmicks he's gained along the way.[break][break]

matias' only contribution in this is his order to kartana to fly in front of an incoming attack, shielding kyle's pokemon from much harm as the ultra beast faints.[break][break]

"i think you could've soloed this."[break][break]

sensing the odds stacked against it, necrozma prepares to make its leave.

if there was anyone who has the most tools to deal with the dangers of ultra space, it would be him. still, he was just one person and it is his lack of drive that stops him from doing anything more than just the necessary.

despite the compliment from matias getting him nervous, he remains grounded in the facts of the matter. "if it was just necrozma, maybe, but..."

he turns around. his eyes don't land on the member of the elite four, however, but on what lies behind them, inviting matias to do the same.

"-these guys don't look as fragile as the ones from the three-day war."

all the attacks did was chip off their armor of black metal and sparkling stone. a brief moment to recover and the ultra beasts that were seemingly dispatched were back on their feet.

alone, they weren't much of a threat. as a group with the resilience rivaling the volatile's energy, it was a matter of who manages to exhaust who first. the ultra beasts approach them, threatening another bout as they attempt to surround both of them.

solgaleo, who had successfully closed down the wormhole and almost exhausting itself, runs back to kyle. his silvally returns back to its ball after putting everything on the attack against necrozma. kyle is left with his smeargle.

"i don't think i could've dealt with it without someone else clearing the stage so my silvally can go all out." he turns to matias this time. "how do you want to deal with this?"
