A tale as old as time. Two friends forced to face each other in combat through tournament placements. The prospect of seeing just how tough Ollie was filled Noel with a joy he couldn't contain. He was smiling from ear to ear, eager to see just how difficult this battle would be. He was sure Ollie wouldn't go easy on him, and he would pay that kindness back to him with the same. His partner for this tournament, a Shaymin, would run forward, while it had never met the head ranger, it still felt the bond between the two trainers.[break][break]

With a tap of his Tera orb on his hip, mystical energy began to form around the Shaymin before it now completely encased itself in crystals, turning into its Grass Tera. Noel would pull out all the stops for this battle, wanting to show Ollie just how far he's come, plus the competitive side of his wouldn't let him go for any less. He so desperately wanted to win against his friend to prove to him that he was able to handle himself.[break][break]

"Hope you're ready Ollie because here I come."[break][break]

Starting off with a powerful attack, his Shaymin would unleash a green-like energy from its body towards his rival's Pikachu. The Seed Flare being shot out from its body in waves that would hopefully land against its mark.[break][break]

The bolts of electricity spread far and wide across the battlefield. There were far too many to take account of and although the Shaymin dodged most of them to the best of its abilities, eventually one strikes against the small grass-type. Stopping in its tracks, it shudders
as it tries to shake off the hit, clearly damaged from Ollie's first move. While he may have gotten the first attack in, that didn't mean everything was over already. Noel's Pokemon would return the favor with multiple Energy Balls aimed towards the gigantic Pikachu.[break][break]

The Shaymin was not expecting at all for its attack to come back and be used against it. A few managed to strike against the hedgehog as it braced for impact. While the type matchup caused it to not be as effective as any other form of attack, bruises were still left marked on the Shaymin's body. Wanting to now close the distance, it would sprint forward as fast as it's legs could possibly handle and charge against the Pikachu with a Zen Headbutt. [break][break]

Of course Ollie would show no mercy to him in a battle, but he didn't want to have it any other way.[break][break]

Ollie had heard about the phenomena of trainers coming across Shaymin in their fields — in fact, he knew of quite a few rangers who had them as their main sets. But still, Ollie had never come across them himself, so he was naturally curious.

[break][break] Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Tofu let out a squeak as the ZEN HEADBUTT knocked him back. He tumbled against the ground before leaping to his feet, tail lashing behind him.

"To be honest... I'm not quite sure where it came from. I just found it in a forest, badly hurt. Once I fixed the little guy, it wouldn't leave my side... And so I thought why not let it join me."[break][break]

The tale was quite mysterious even to him, just how did it end up like that? Perhaps one day he would return there and find out just what caused its injury in the first place.[break][break]

Even though the Shaymin had caused some damage, it just wasn't enough. Every time it would lash out against the Pikachu, he would come back stronger and faster than before. If its last move couldn't deter the yellow mouse from faltering, then it would just have to put more strength into its moves.[break][break]

As the loudening noise reaches the little hedgehog's ears, it took a few steps back while trying to block out the disorienting sound. It would shout back as if to fight fire with fire, but this was to no avail. If they wanted to play at range, then it would do the same. Sending power that would course through the earth, the ground beneath the Pikachu would quake with an Earth Power, that would collapse in just a moment if they weren't quick enough.

[break][break] Suddenly, the ground rocked with the force of EARTH POWER and the Head Ranger knew that they were in immediate danger if they didn't act fast enough. Whoops, had he gotten carried away again?

[break][break] Baring his teeth, the Pikachu growled, almost as in frustration. The warning came too late, though. The explosion of the floor sent the Pikachu flying in midair, just as DISCHARGE exploded from it's small body before crashing on the opposite end of the field.

It was not as if the question had never crossed his mind. To be able to help Pokemon and people alike through the Ranger program would more than likely be a dream come true for most. However, the idea of being tied down even more by the League and potentially losing out on his freedom was something he wasn't sure he was quite ready for yet. [break][break]

"I've thought about it that's for sure... But I'm still on the fence about it. Maybe after this match we can talk more in depth. Or is this a tactic of yours to distract me in the midst of battle?"[break][break]

Even when attacked, Ollie's Pokemon spares no time at all in keeping up with the offensive. The bolts of lightning scattered across the arena and eventually find their way to the Shaymin. Electrified by the attack, it stands there motionless for a moment, as if unable to continue on any further.[break][break]

"Come on Shaymin! I know you've got some fight still left in you!"[break][break]

The words of encouragement rings throughout the small hedgehog's ears. Woken up from its trance, it shakes its entire body awake and gazes up towards the now flying Pikachu. With the rat now stuck in the air unable to dodge easily, now was the time to attack. A battle cry is heard throughout the arena, a glow of green energy begins to envelop Noel's Pokemon as it readies one more devastating move. It sends upwards a Solar Beam, the laser hopefully able to pinpoint the Pikachu's location and make its mark.

With a thunderous roar, the Pikachu's bellowing cry fills the air. A loud "Piiiii" signals doom for Noel and his Shaymin as lightning surges throughout the arena and ricochets off the ground and nearby metallic surfaces to strike the small hedgehog once and for all. Letting out a pained cry, Noel's Pokemon falls to the ground, knocked out and unable to continue any further. Seeing now that the match had officially concluded, he returns the Shaymin to its ball and breathes a sigh of relief. [break][break]

"Good job out there... And nice one Ollie. Wasn't sure who was going to win there at the end, but it looks like you came out on top."[break][break]

He walks forward to meet face to face with his friend, raising his hand to high-five as a means to celebrate.[break][break]

"I'm going to want a rematch later though. Once things have calmed down for both of us after this tournament"
