In all truth, though, he doesn’t underestimate ollie morales in the slightest. He does hard work, and Lam definitely can’t discredit that.[break][break]

Even if the battle pitch is where he feels in the zone.[break][break]

His pidove flutters forward, only to be swallowed up by the light cast from his tera orb. When she reemerges, the bird is shimmering with ghost tera energy.[break][break]

Of course, by then the battle will probably be long over.

Pops tilts in the air, doing her best to arc away from the crackle of electricity as it lances her way. What does hit her licks off of her crystallized feathers, allowing her to take less damage than she definitely would have normally.[break][break]

The pidove flickers then, seeming to dissolve into a swell of shadow.[break][break]

Only for the SHADOW SNEAK to reappear directly behind tofu before she plummets toward him and braces for collision.

[break][break] Ollie and Tofu both blink as that tiny bird disappears into nothingness, both puzzled by the sight of it. But it's the latter who is forced to react when the Pidove appears moments later behind him.

[break][break] Tofu squeaks, skirting backwards with TRAILBLAZE and makes a clumsy back-kick at the Pidove's beak.

Lam snaps his fingers, “Oh, shit! Yeah, those are super good.” So it sounds like he needs to refuel after this match. “You know what else are good?? Everything bagel chips.”[break]break]

Usually it’s pretty hard to not just eat the whole bag in one go.[break][break]

“Hehe, surprise!” His own tease follows the twitter the pidove makes, shortly before being smacked in the beak by the pikachu’s back leg. Pops tumbles away, little talons scrabbling in the dirt before she pops back up into the air– just like her name insinuates.[break][break]

Keeping her distance this time, her wings drum at the air and then send a volley of gusty AIR SLASHES back at Tofu.

[break][break] Watching the Pidove appear out of thin air is about the coolest thing that Ollie has ever seen and he can't help but holler in support.

[break][break] "Woah! Great job, Pop!"

[break][break] Oops. Tofu sends him a scalding glare, and Ollie is reminded of which side of the battle he's supposed to be on.

[break][break] In an attempt to get his trainer's attention back, the Pikachu leaps angrily forward against the small gusts of winds that land his way. Tch. As if something so measly as some gusts would get him back.

[break][break] He leaps into the air, energy forming in the space before him, as he knocks an ELECTRO BALL through those gusts.

Technically it was ollie morales who started the food talk, so really it was his fault that the both of them were now hungry as heck.[break][break]

His nose does wrinkle, though, at the next suggestion. “Ack, I hate pickles, if I’m being honest.”[break][break]

The reaction the pikachu has to his trainer makes Lam laugh, and he can’t help but teasingly console him, “Aw, don’t get too mad at him Tofu. Pops is really just that cool!!”[break][break]

Which doesn’t really help his pidove’s case as an ELECTRO BALL is hurled at her. Electricity foofs up her feathers and she shakes her little head, disoriented.[break][break]

But she sticks with it— wings beating hard again as her beak opens to spit out a HEAT WAVE that she fans into a conflagration.

[break][break] Ollie loved them. Then again, he loved most things. He couldn't think of a single thing that he wouldn't try, at least once.

[break][break] "The tangy flavor's amazing, man. Something about the way the pickle and vinegar combine — it's got me addicted."

[break][break] Lam's consoling isn't much help, and the HEAT WAVE that comes scorching past him makes it sting all the more. Tofu's fur burned at it's fringes, pain swelling along his sides. Ugh.

[break][break] Shaking his fur, the pikachu let out a small growl and energy coalesced around him. Water suddenly seeped from the earth before multiplying across the arena, resurrecting a wave that attempted to drench that tiny annoying bird!

Lam’s nose wrinkles up again and he shakes his head. “Dunno, man— I’ve never liked ‘em.” In his opinion, they always ruin his veggie sandwiches and impossible burgers.[break][break]

“The flavor overpowers everything.”[break][break]

His attention slides away from the atrocity of pickles as Tofu grows more fussed with Pops’ insistence. The roar of water rushes up to meet her and the pidove lets out an annoyed squawk as it weighs down her feathers.[break][break]

She swings back after trying to shake the droplets loose with angry ruffles of her wings—throwing her body at the pikachu like a DRAGON HAMMER.

[attr="class","textbody"] The flavor overpowers everything, Lam says, and soon enough the field is overpowered by a flood. Tofu seems to get ahead of himself, either because he's annoyed and hungry, thanks to the two trainers' conversation or simply because he's ready for the fight to be over. A giant wave consumes the arena, splashing down and crashing down onto the Pidove until his feathers are completely soaked.

[break][break] By the end of it, he looks more like wet laundry than he does an bird.

[break][break] The DRAGON HAMMER is easy enough to dodge, and Tofu's cheeks spark in retaliation.

[break][break] "Alright, alright," Ollie says with a huff, calling the battle to a close as he crosses his arms. The battle's as much done with, anyway.

[break][break] As the field gets cleaned up to prepare for their next match, Ollie tilts his head at his friend.

[break][break] "I don't know about you. But I'm hungry. Wanna get a bite to eat before the next match?"
