Josh was too tired to respond to Mint with anything other than a smile at the familiar face. His Zeraora, Raikiri, would be on his own in the battle, though he would largely be able to function without his trainer's help. The Gym Leader's red eyes widened at the sound of the starting horn before closing to slits again.

Taking his time to size up his opponent, Raikiri ran circles around the Abomasnow, showcasing his great speed and AGILITY. When he had built up enough speed, his paws screeched against the court floor as he about-faced, his paws igniting. He zoomed toward his foe, pouncing with the force of a Conkeldurr's FIRE PUNCH.

The sudden and heavy precipitation, alongside the AURORA VEIL, put out the flames. Slush covered the battle court, making impossible for the mythical feline to use his Fire Punch again. No bother; Josh could weaponize his Pokémon's speed and take advantage of the inclement weather. "Raikiri, AGILITY!"

At his trainer's command, the already fast cat zipped around the Abomasnow in circles so fast that it would have been difficult to track in clear weather. In the snowstorm Tella had called forth, the speed may have made him nearly invisible. It was all setup to end the match in a single attack: a brutally fast one that Mint may have been familiar with.

The Abomasnow's MEGA EVOLUTION would bring with it a much more intense snowstorm. Whiteout conditions impending, they would prove to make it difficult for Raikiri to close the match out if he didn't try to land the finishing blow now. Josh nodded in agreement, twisting his arm to expose his Zeraora to the energy of his glove's Z-CRYSTAL.

The HYPERSONIC PLASMA CHARGE to come would only last a split second. To the untrained eye, the blindingly fast charge would look like the electric-type teleported from one side to another. If the Abomasnow could remain steadfast amidst the triple threat of electrified paws coming at her at supersonic speed, the line of lightning bolts in his wake, and the sonic explosion from the move's unmatched land speed, the ice-type would have a firm hold on the match!

The SHEER COLD attack was simply too slow; by the time the ice-type was able to fire it off, Raikiri was already on the other side. The judges having seen enough, they promptly waved red flags Mint's way, declaring Josh the winner. It was a clean sweep for the Zeraora: a flawless victory he needed in his final round.

Mint would not get a response from the zombie-state Gym Leader; he stumbled toward the bench he was sitting on before, collapsing onto it and nearly kicking the legs of another person sitting there. He would be back the next day; when he woke up to check his standings, Josh would find himself with an impressive main-tournament record of 19 wins and 5 losses.
