Being refreshed helped matters a lot; by the end of her second day, Shalin felt like a zombie. After a good night's sleep, her chipper self had returned, and she did not have to commit to a set number of rounds, either. Any time she was not feeling well, she could just drop from her current flight and leave.

She would have used her Sygna Suit, but instead chose to use the tournament to understand Queen Zing better. Specifically, her Mega Evolved form. Until the tournament, Shalin completely lacked control of her Beedrill in an apex state. After battling so many times, she had finally started to understand how the wasp acted when on an Infinity Energy high and what she could do to curb that unwanted behavior. Before long, she would even be able to safely ride the insect in that form.

"Good luck to you, too," she replied right before the horn sounded, the arena filled with a menacing buzzing noise after that. Not wasting any time, the green bee shot after Bruno with outstretched, venomous stings ready to skewer the water-type through a volley of POISON JABS.

The green wasp proved to be not only fast, but nimble, too. The moment she saw Bruno reach for her, she churned her wings with amazing power, zipping to safety. With reaction times among the fastest of Pokémon, snatching a bug-type out of the air was folly for all but the most dextrous of predators.

The HYDRO PUMP was not fruitless, though; the recoil from the huge wolume of water drenched her. To remain airborne, she was forced to form a TAILWIND behind herself, the vibration and moving air shaking her dry much like a canine Pokémon would shake its fur loose. She didn't need to attack; that poison was doing work now, too.

Ordering the Swampert to spam HYDRO PUMP would do little good in showing both the water-type's strength and Nabi's skill; it showed the pinkette's reliance on luck to win matches, in Shalin's eyes.

Sometimes, though, fortune smiled. Whether it was through cunning or pure luck, one of the high-pressure beams of water caught Queen Zing and slammed her into the arena wall in a loud thud. If Shalin didn't intervene, raising her fingers to her MEGA CIRCLET's Key Stone to quickly MEGA EVOLVE the green wasp, there was no hope for her to recover.

Simultaneously revitalized and intoxicated by the flow of Infinity Energy, Queen Zing zipped toward the aquatic Pokémon with her rear barb fully extended, venom dripping from the tip of the dangerous FELL STINGER.

With the FELL STINGER lodged inside the Swampert, Shalin had Nabi right where she wanted her. She was not at all concerned about the ROCK SLIDE headed toward Queen Zing. Though it would leave quite the mark upon her tough carapace, there was more value in pumping her foe full of as much venom as she could.

Her wings roared in a whistling TAILWIND, adding the discomfort of the fastest, most powerful vibration she could muster to the sting itself. The unsteadiness of her needle as it pumped more burning venom into the Seampert may have turned the injection site truly unbearable. The falling rocks did bat Queen Zing away eventually, but not after the Swampert had suffered from what may have been a lethal dose of poison if the Pokémon was still a Mudkip. Shalin and her Pokémon might not have to do anything for the rest of the match except let the vile liquid deprive the ground-type of the will to fight.

Queen Zing's reckless abandon left her a sitting Ducklett for the rising MUDDY WATER, washing her away and nearly out of bounds. With her wings covered in mud, she could not fly. Without the strength of Mega Evolution, having reverted to her smaller battle form, she could not pull the bases of her stings out of the mud, either. She was completely helpless.

All the Beedrill could do was angle her stings toward the Swampert if it was foolish to approach. If Nabi was a smart combatant, she would keep her partner out of Queen Zing's reach. The only thing that would save her would be the match horn and a judge decision. Could the water-type land the finishing blow before time expired?

Neither side's attack would land before the clock reached zeroes; judges waved both attacks off. This was a twist Shalin wasn't expecting; the final exchange wouldn't matter at all; it would come down to a judge decision about everything that had happened up to that point. After a long several minutes, the red flags pointed at Shalin, nabi park the winner.

"Wow, what a close one!" Shalin exhaled, just happy that it was over. While a loss wouldn't help her secure a podium spot (and there was really tough competition), it was still thrilling to be part of the down-to-the-wire match. "Hope you make it all the way through your flight and score that dough! I gotta enter into another one. See you 'round!" With that, she turned around and headed for the registration desk.
