It was still early on in the table, which meant that not many people had taken to the stands yet. Which suited Ollie just fine. He hoped that today's rounds of battles wouldn't be too rough.

"No worries! If anything I should've probably done the same instead of skipping it," There's a chuckle following those words, somewhat of a regretful sigh woven between them, but the redhead shrugs her shoulders and lets it pass. "I'm Yvaine, nice to meet you too, Ollie! Let's make this one a banger!"

The subtle growl of her stomach far out of anyone's range of hearing, safe for her partner's, who looked back over its shoulder and stifled a grin. Yvaine swats at the Zoroark, mouthing a wordless 'shush you', much to its glee. There's a sigh of defeat lingering on her lip as she shoos it unto the field, which the shadow fox does, still chuckling about the ordeal.

"W-well, anyway! First move's yours!"

"Zoroark, counter with Night Slash!"

The illusion fox braces itself as its claws start glowing, one of its arms cocked back and waiting for the crackling ball of electricity to draw near enough to counter and send it back towards the Pikachu. And when it finally comes within reach, the Zoroark lashes out at it, claws digging deeply into the elemental orb.

Only to have it explode upon impact.

A snarl follows as it staggers backwards, finding its balance anew. Azure eyes glare back at the Pikachu as Zoroark casts a Scary Face, hoping to startle it.

[break][break] The SCARY FACE freezes the Pikachu in place for a moment, but it's Ollie's voice that cuts through the damage. With a shout, the Pikachu follows up with a DISCHARGE attack.

"We're not done yet!" Yvaine rallies her partner in turn. "Show them what you got!"

The Pikachu's electric Discharge is met with the dark miasma of her Zoroark's Night Daze, both moves clashing in a beautiful display of light and darkness. If anything, it could have been a reflection of thunder piercing through the clouds. Spurred on by its trainer's shout, the Zoroark does not let up and slowly starts pushing.

The explosion kicks up a large cloud of dust, ebbing forth across the field and hiding both mon from view. The only movement a silhouette being tossed back, shown to be Yvaine's Zoroark once the dust settles.

It scrambles unto its feet with haste, shaking debris from its mane before slamming one of its paws into the ground. It bares fangs in an excited grin and roars, letting Agility fuel its Foul Play as it charges forth one more.

A devotion of both pokémon radiates through the arena, as does the baited breath of the excited crowd as the Zoroark goes in for another attack, trying to smack the Electro Ball aside with Night Slash.

But it puts too much power behind it; rather than to balance out and counter the attack, Zoroark's attack detonates it right in its face, and the ensuing damage it receives proves to be too much. With a loud thud it slams into the ground, skidding to a halt against the nearest wall.

The crowd roars as the victor's name is called across the speakers. Zoroark, albeit its valiant display, has found its match in Ollie's Pikachu, and lost.
