"Sup, Master of Faster," Yvaine salutes the gym leader with a grin. "Been a while, hasn't it?" To Raikiri's feral feline vibes, Yvaine's Zoroark replied in tandem, baring teeth and raising itself unto its hind legs, stretching as tall as its body would allow it to. There was a challenge in its stance, come what may.

Raring to go it stepped unto the field of battle one more time, letting out an excited howl as it looked at Josh and his Zeraora.

"I'd love to see how fast you are on the battle court as well, so let's give this a go, shall we?"

There were two choices to counter Raikiri's speedy onslaught; try and match its speed, or keep it out of physical reach. Both daring endeavours, but it would try.

Emboldened by its trainer's voice, Zoroark does the first. Agility, and it dashes forth, a dance of swiftness and speedy grace as two blurs of yellow and dark clash. The illusionary fox tries its best, but finds Raikiri's hits landing far more than his own, until one connects with its face, sending it backwards.

A Night Daze follows suit as it tries to find its footing, hoping to keep the Zeraora at bay long enough to recover from the flurry of strikes it has received.

"Impressive! But all we can do is try to keep up!"

In a race she knew her Zoroark would never keep up with the Zeraora; if it was a matter of speed vs speed it wouldn't be able to win. But in battle, they had a chance. Since they were little it had been like that; them against the world, a constant battle for survival. And now, all they needed to do was tap into that feeling once more.

Not trying to one-up its speed, but to use it at the right moment to intercept. Zoroark closed its eyes and perked its ears, allowing its instincts to take over. Its eyes could nary follow the speed master, but its instincts, those had been honed to overcome such hurdles.

'Night Slash, now!'

And then, it lashed out.

Lightning was his speed, and electric were its friends.

When Raikiri flashes past, plucks of yellow fur darting about where Zoroark's claws had hit it previously, the dark-type tries to follow. But the blur of yellow is all it can make out to see, sparks of lightning gathering around it until three spherical orbs become visible.

Zoroark tries to dodge, but to no avail. They volley into its stomach in quick succession, sending the large beast flying, skidding to a halt a fair distance away from the Zeraora. With a grunt the illusionary fox tries to get back up, struggling fiercely and panting once it gets on all fours.

Its energy is forlorn. Now, it decides to await the Speedmaster's next move rather than move first.

"Let's go hypersonic!"

Both trainer and 'mon inhaled sharply at the gymleader's voice thundering through the stadium, gloved fist raised. They'd faced it once, and now they would face it again--- to this display of speed Zoroark could not fight. Raikiri a mere flash, a bolt of lightning across the field until it was in front of him. And then, suddenly, her Zoroark no longer stood;

The impact of the illusionary fox against the wall behind her left a large dent, bits of debris tumbling down with it as it fell to the ground, utterly defeated. Getting over her initial shock Yvaine rushed over to her partner not even a split second after, recalling him as soon as she made sure the damage he'd sustained wasn't critical.

With a silent huff she rose again and faced Josh. "Well damnit, you do know how to make the speed difference clear as hell, don'tcha?" she grinned at the Master of Faster. "Expect me around soon for a rematch!"

She smirks, acknowledging his reply in silence. "I'm quite sure that's your place to sit, but don't mind me if I come to see it happen firsthand one day."

Yvaine says her goodbyes after concluding the match, leaving the stadium to nurse another defeat.
