Shuwen is just a little crazy. It takes a dash of madness for pain to bring a smile to his face. Hopps hurt him with that blow, even with infinity energy coursing through his body. Pain is an old friend to the fighting master. Pain is expected in a battle between warriors. Hopps carries within him unbridled potential. Though Shuwen has no voice, is soul resonates with a wish: he wants to see how high Hopps’ star will rise.[break][break]
So, as the kick shatters his mega-evolved form and returns him to nothing more or less than a regular, burned Urshifu, he steels himself. Hopps hurt him once. He can hurt him again. Shuwen wants more. If Hopps and his trainer want to stand at the apex of the world, he’ll have to show just how bad he wants to climb.[break][break]
“ORAAAAAAAAAA!” He cries again, doling no shame upon the younger man for his voice crack. Energy crackles along the edge of his fist. His drain punch seeks to sap vigor from the young rabbit, restore his own before a bruised rib spirals towards calamity.[break][break]

it's totally coincidental that cian's hearing returns to him right when the conversation shifts to making money, the suggestion more than enough to bring a grin to his face.[break][break]

unsure if navy is aware of the terminology used, cian carries on, pretending like he hadn't said it in the first place.[break][break]

DRAIN PUNCH squares into raboot, too slow to evade it even though it tries to, and the impact is enough to shatter TERA CRYSTALS off its body. they crumble to the ground in broken pieces only to reduce to nothing upon impact.[break][break]

dropping to a knee, raboot feels its hit points drain away, nearing zero. but it is not out yet. the firey raboot stands back up, determined to secure a win.[break][break]

with all it has, flames engulf it once more as it BOUNCES high up into the air only to come back down with FLAME CHARGE, repeating this same movement and pattern until it has nothing left to give.[break][break]

raboot becomes a pinball of flames and glory.

Shuwen watches Hopps bounce. He jumps up and comes down like a pinball. Always he has to return, they have to exchange blows. Fire gathers along the rabbit. Shuwen beats him away with a small flurry of surging strikes, but never a full barrage. Hopps doesn’t stick around long enough for that. The bear hobbles, feeling the growing strain of the match.[break][break]
This little rabbit is pushing him harder than some legends he’s faced. Shuwen coughs, finding he’s becoming Hopps’s biggest fan. He wants to see the rabbit win as much as Cian surely does. He wants to win, too. It’s a paradox.[break][break]
“ORA!” So, when Hopps comes down again, a burning inferno, he puts everything he has into one last blow. His desperate close combat barrage will end this, one way or the other. His right hook overextends itself, leaving his torso exposed.

Shuwen flies. Up and up and up, until he crashes through a scoreboard. It’s there for show more than anything, a little nod to Josh Devlin’s propensity for prominent scoreboards in the Mauville gym. Electric lights spark. Part of the rafter falls, tearing an edge of the ring in the process. All things considered, it was an impressive kick.[break][break]
His Urshifu does not stir. Pulling out a pokeball, Navy allows the Pokemon the dignity of a short rest. Shuwen rests, and Cian has passed his trial.[break][break]
Walking away from the ring, Navy grabs the bottle, pours them both another shot, hands it off. No sore loser, Navy grins ear to ear. It’s always nice to see a star rise.[break][break]
“Congrats, man. Looks like you’ll be fighting Lopez next.” Clinking the glasses, he takes a shot.

only when urshifu is recalled does raboot slump to the ground, exhausted.[break][break]

he feigns a gasp only to sprint into the ring to scoop raboot up into his arms.[break][break]

"wahoooooooooooo! you're so fastttttttttt and so stronggggggggg you're the best, hopps!"[break][break]

turning back to navy, cian grins.[break][break]
