Back pressed against a pile of rock, Penelope could only talk in heavy gasps. There was no major wound, no puncture to fret over, but exhaustion made itself a fearsome opponent, reducing her muscle into mush.

Just thirty minutes prior, paxton and her was walking around the great chasm, mapping out pathways and shortcuts as normal, when out of nowhere, an ancient beast as ravenous as the one they'd encountered underneath Callan Young's chambers lunges out from a web of stick and leaves.

His Octillery clung to hiss body, having attached herself as a quick escape method when he and Penelope had taken off running from the strange blue beast. She'd recognized it as the thing that had attacked the entirety of AQUA back underground. And as soon a she had, the thing had detected them. Giving chase with a fearsome roar, Paxton tried to push it back but Joules was knocked out of commission, coming back from scouting and taking a fierce attack for the both of them before Paxton returned them. His Octillery had some out next, glowering with dark power. One SHADOW HOLD and he and his boss were off. Only seconds later was he desperately jumping and climbing over obstacles as his partner tried to deflect the beast. "They'd lost sight of it for now, but it was persistent. Through paxton concordas's resilience, the two barely managed to escape, allowing a momentary wave of relief to unlock the hinges of her muscles. Crimson already stained her clothes, squeezing out from the small knicks clawing up her legs and arms. She hadn't been hit with anything devasting, but that didn't mean she'd come out scotch free.

"We can do more than fend it off if we plan well." he said as his Octillery climbed onto the rock to keep watch with Penny's pokemon while he bent down quickly to gage her injuries. He carefully tugs at her clothing as he tried to get a better look at the dirty gash in case it was bleeding too much. "I think I got a a butterfly bandage and some disinfectant." he said as he turned to his backpack and began reaching for some first aid supplies. [break][break]

Paxton is handing Penelope a wipe to clean the worst of it off before he hear the strange roar of the beast and the sound of it slamming into a wall. slipping and sliding on terrain around them, but still following a scent most likely. Upon seeing it, Streenstrup is quick to blast back a BULLET SEED, her barrage pushing back the beast forcing it to slip and fall once more which only made it angrier. [break][break]

"If we can't subdue it, the labs are getting a corpse for a specimen." he said, eyes narrowing as he quickly wrapped some gauze around his hand for Penelope to press into her wound. He handed her a roll of self adhesive bandage. "Clean, put this on top, then wrap this roll tight around you for pressure. We might have to run again." he said as she stood up to get eyes on the Walking Wake. [break][break]

The process took a minute or two to complete, hampered by the insistent roaring that battered her skull. Even standing was a struggle. Still, she managed, gritting her teeth through lurches of sharp pain.

The Walking Wake returns fire with a DRAGON BREATH that Streenstrup combat with HYDRO PUMP. However she's knocked off her perch as the draconic flames lick her position. The Octopus is already trying to get back up as Paxton grass his rifle, pulls it in tight to hiss shoulder and fires a quick shot at the beast. It' not accurate at all, but it hits something. He thinks he can see the small spurt of blood from impact and the beast howling pain is confirmation enough. Shouldering the rifle again he said, "Can you run? If not, we're defending this position." he explained. [break][break]

He grabbed another pokeball pulling hack Streestrup as she let off a SHADOW HOLD who's tendrils wrapped around the Suicune lookalike and dragged it backwards. The swapped out pokemon is his Mawile, the beat he's brought to VCT with him. "Coniebear, protect the Councilwoman. Subdue it any means necessary." he ordered as he gave a boost to the dual type. She quickly clambered over smashing her tiny body into ice and cracking it before getting ready to fight. [break][break]

"Throw whatever we have at it. Chances of catching something this wild are low." [break][break]
