“Of course they’re here,” she growled between her clenched teeth, tension so tight across her shoulders it looked like she was about to snap. She was referring to the DRK Triad, of course. The bane of Hoenn’s existence and their greatest threat. Reports didn’t show signs of any of the big players they had come to know but any whiff of them was enough to pique her interest and elicit immediate action.

She was standing beside Paxton at a League Base deep in the Area Zero area, on the edge of their maps, bordering the unknown, “About 5 klicks east is what their saying, but as you can see it’s uncharted territory,” she pointed towards a dark area on the map with a crude outline of what they thought the terrain might be like there, “We don’t really know how many grunts there are but reports estimate about 5 per station,” she looked up at Paxton, the shadows of the cae’s dull light carved harsh lines across her normally soft complexion; a ghost of the past.

"They've given up attacking out leaders and avatars...but for what?" he asked, unable to figure a motive for the other universe terrorists. The only good part about their existence was that Rocket was also in the Triad's sights. He briefly thinks about the Unown avatar PENELOPE LIVY had mentioned from her council meeting, but the feeling had been while they were an unknown, a relationship with the Triad may not be present. Or at least, there's a chance of it anyway. [break][break]

"We can take out five." he said, thoughtfully as he fully considered the options. Maybe not head on but, he could pick some off if he could get within range. "We have the best chance of taking them on in surprise, especialy once they start teleporting and shooting with their Unown." They still don't know what the hell happened to something once the beams hit, but he didn't want to find out. [break][break]

"Me and some of my pokemon can try to take out a couple from a distance but after they'll be alerted, and probably try to find me. But at least it might give you an opening if you're watching form another angle." he suggested. [break][break]

"I could have one other pokemon close by to assist you while I try to join you on their position. I don't know if I can lure them all away for you. Besides, won't need to sneak into their base for intel if they're all dead." he began selecting some pokeballs.

"I've got 2 pokemon that can lock the Unown down for short bursts. You?" he looked to the head scientist for her thoughts, more so open to counter options. [break][break]

Normally, 5 seemed like a breeze. Give her 5 Rockets and she wouldn’t bat an eye. There DRK Triad grunts seemed to be a different breed. They weren’t just men and women in dark suits. They were stealthy, well-trained, and disturbingly loyal to their cause. Regardless of her doubt, she smiled, nodding in agreement as he laid out a preliminary plan. Splitting up wasn’t her favorite idea, but it did give them the advantage and split the forces that worked against them.

“I think it will be difficult to sneak up on their Unown,” she had a few of those pokemon herself and personally knew The Visionary. The little psychic letters were difficult to trick. They had uncanny senses, “I think sneaking past the Unown and keeping ourselves from their all-knowing gaze is going to make it or break it,” after a moment of contemplation, she plucked two pokeballs off her own belt, “Maybe some dark-types, what do you got?” Her chin gently motioned towards the pokeballs he held in his hand.

"I'm just worried about the beams. Last time, one assassin nearly vaporized dahlia goode while we were out on a crystal bloom inspection." he said. Though nobody had reported similar attacks in Area Zero, he still figured they would be careful about it. "Like I aid, I can pick off a couple, they're not too beefy on their own. Just quick." he said. [break][break]

"Shadow Octillery, and a Mawile mainly. My Klefki does well on its own, and Joules here is as good defense as they are offense." He pat the Magnezone that floated close to him, multiple eyes keeping watch suddenly zoning in on their trainer and then Eva. "I can focus on the Unown, it might cutdown on their movement a bit." He didn't remember if they strange tech was only the Unown or something the assassin could do as well. [break][break]

"Sorry, I mostly deal in steel types." he added with a small shrug. At least hiss pokemon were flexible. "Joules or my Porygon, typically cover me when I get into my nest. Mawile and Klefki are better at close combat. Octillery is ranged." [break][break]

He paused. "We could radio in for the JIRACHI strike after I take the first two shots. Or do it before and confuse them more." [break][break]

Eva listened intently, committing the blurb to memory to remember their assets in case they needed to make some last minute changes to their plan. She smiled at the Magnezone when prompted, offering the little pat as well if they accepted it.

“Hm, alright, sounds like we need a better lay of the terrain before deciding from where we’ll approach. You’ll have the better eye for that,” she smiled widely, looking up at Paxton for confirmation. He was the sniper, after all. She usually just followed people around and made sure they didn’t die.

Eva almost forgot they had some more resources at their disposal. It would be silly not to use them, “I think after. They still won’t expect it.”

With a nod, she spun around on her heels to grab her pack and sling it over her back, “You know, this kinda brings back memories,” she doesn’t specify whether they are good or bad, it was a mixed bag, “Planning raids against an enemy, gathering intel,” She was referring to Kanto, of course.

He nodded already ahead of her, having tried to find a couple of decent points of reference. Something with the post in view, but still far enough that the DRK Triad wouldn't catch them moving into, hopefully. "There's a couple of sheer cliffs around them, the closest one may have me on the farther end of my shooting range." he said. "Hopper can take us." he added, the little Porygon chirping softly as it settled itself on top of the Magnezone. [break][break]

"Ok then tentatively. I manage to take out one or two of their Unown, they come for me, you move in closer and before they can spot you, call in League's Jirachi. Leave 'em dazed, pick 'em off." It was a good base plan for now. [break][break]

He does the same and grabs his rifle, checking the safety and pulling it over his shoulder. He tries not to frown, nodding with his back to her before speaking up. "Yeah. I'm glad the moment isn't as dire as other operations I've planned." He doesn't specify either. Neither can really articulate those worst moments of Kanto. And maybe, neither wants to. "Hopper, will you?" he asked, his pokemon moving close before TELEOPORTing them to the nest location. It's the closest they can get without being out in the open. At least from here, they had some height. And hopefully ,their dark clothing would help keep them camouflaged. "Think I see some tera specimens big enough to hide you and a pokemon." he began, already dropping to the ground and popping the legs off his weapon. As he settled down a sharp, loud cry rippled through the cave system. He tensed, growing still ass it echoed again before glancing back at Eva incredulously. [break][break]

“Whoa!” Eva wasn’t expecting to be TELEPORTED so quickly. She clung to the closest thing for stability, and that happened to be Paxton once the Porygon pulled her into the spatial shift.

They’re flung through space and onto a cliff overlooking their objective. It took a moment for Eva’s mind to catch up to her body’s experience. She quickly untangled herself from Paxton with a subtle red blushing her cheeks and a soft “Sorry,” murmured as she backed away so he could get in position.

While Paxton readied his equipment, Eva knelt down at the edge of the cliff, narrowing her gaze to watch the station closely. There were two visible grunts casually standing guard outside the tent - perfect for Paxton. There were shadows from inside the tent, maybe another two inside.

“I guess I’ll come from that direction,” she pointed across towards the other side of the small clearing. Their tent was back up against another cliff for protection from that direction. Jumping from the tall cliff wouldn’t be an issue, not for someone with her unique powers.

He's used to Hopper moving him, especially when watching his back on the field. The sudden jump butterflies used to last for a few minutes, now only bother him for seconds at a time. He'd forgotten to account for his companion. "Oh- sorry." he said, not at all bothered by the momentary clinging. "I should've given you heads up." he murmured ass he fell back into the planning of it all. [break][break]

He looked over where directed before nodding. "Two minutes to TELEPORT and set up?" he offered. "You'll be able to see my shots from that angle once time is up. We run through the plan. While I back off, you can call for the strike." he said with a small nod. "I think I can manage one or two DRK triad. And they may even turn back once Jirachi comes in." [break][break]

Paxton was back to all business in no time, which Eva appreciated (and expected nothing less). He had always been a reliable soldier with a sparkling record, as far as she knew.

He replayed the plan and she nodded along and hummed in understanding. A light flashed and brought her Gallade out to join them party on the small cliff, “Alright, see you afterwards, then” her voice held a hint of a smile that displayed her excitement. The adrenaline was already starting to tickle her nerves. In a flash of light, Eva and the Gallade disappeared. If he looked through his scope, he could probably see them both crouched on the edge of a smaller cliff, peering down over the edge at the tent, waiting for the shots to be fired.

Paxton's serious expression dropped a he offered Eva a small smile. "I've got you." he assured her once more before getting back into position. "See you for our debrief." he added waiting for her to move. The time runs on their clock and everyone is in position. He waited, bullet in the chamber as he took aim to a specific DRK Triad member sitting on a crate taking notes on something. [break][break]

He checked his safety, before steadying his breathing and pulling the trigger. The casing is expelled from his rifle and the encampment is suddenly joined by one headless member. "Not so fun when you're the ones getting shot at, huh?" he muttered as he grabbed another bullet. The base camp all teleports. He waited. They teleported again and if he looked closely he could see their Unown floating anxiously as they tried to figure out from where the shot came from. [break][break]

Paxton took another breath and pulled the trigger. An Unown goes down, one member wouldn't be able to go home now. The other two disappear. Hopper chirps before a beam goes flying past them. They automatically crack off a TRI ATTACK, before teleporting to a different angle. The DRK Triad member that slams down on the empty post is greeted by one Magnezone who's magnets spun as they unleashed a ZAP CANON. It doesn't land, but the member runs, trying to find the sniper. "Heats on me! Moving 2 clicks towards 3 o'clock." he said, hoping Eva hadn't encountered anything difficult while he moved away. [break][break]

Eva peered over the edge of the cliff and down onto the quiet encampment. It was strange being so high with no winds to stir her messy blonde hair. The skinny cliff reminded her of her cottage on Ever Grande. Instead of an encampment, she’d be staring down at the rough waves of the Hoenn sea smacking against the cliff face.

It had been a while since she had participated in a mission like this. Typically her’s were mostly centered on research and information gathering. A full military operation had become foreign to her. The sharp shot that echoed across the cavern’s tall walls woke her up from her thoughts like an alarm clock. The little shadows of the Triad grunts scattered and raced across the encampment. Some disappeared in flashes while others searched for a source.

“Alright, here we go,” she nodded to Blade who disappeared in a flash to request support from Jirachi and the League. They returned in the blink of an eye, the little star in tow.

Jiii! it sang, happy to see the Professor again, “Jirachi!” she smiled, smoothing out the pokemon’s ribbons in a display of affection, “If you wouldn’t mind,” her and swept over the encampment to indicate the target. The Wish Pokemon cooed and twirled in place, rising above them to gather the energy necessary. They glowed like the north star: bright and promising. Unfortunately, it attracted the wrong attention.

An Unown’s HIDDEN POWER blasted at them from below. Blade was quick to deflect the beam with a well-placed PROTECT. It struck the cliffside, rumbling the fragile slabs of rock beneath them. Eva could feel it giving way. The cracks stretched to her feet and the sturdy stone shattered, “Protect Jirachi,” she managed to command the Gallade before the cliff gave away and she was sent tumbling down towards the encampment.
