charlie will probably leave him for dead. alpha was a bro and would risk his life for him, albeit being a man-child and a little shit. probably why he fired off an attack at what he thought was an invader.

he eyes the pokepuffs and takes them reluctantly. "you don't have to," he starts off, before lightening up, "but thanks." he appreciates her concern, but kyle's pokemon had faced worse matchups. he doesn't voice that out though sicne he doesn't want to offend her.

charlie detects another intruder amid their tea party planning. kyle's face contorts as he sees a familiar arcanine, grumbling. he doesn't order his mightyena to fire off a hyper beam however. the assault happens, but kyle doesn't do much.

"oh shit, an attack," he says in the most disinterested voice he could muster before the disaster happens. "i can't defend us from that. i might just accidentally kill him if i do."

he releases all of his mightyena, gets two of them to grab a pair of leashes he keeps with him at all times, and gets them to drag him away from the incoming slaughter. he slides across the sands in his makeshift mightyena dog sled team.

"good luck."

mateo proceeds to bombard everyone.

"Bry is fine," she answers, touching her fingertips together in front of her. The tension begins to ease and Bryony turns to enter the beach house. "I can take care of it. Don't worry. I don't want to trouble you."

She has taken one step through the door when the first meteor hits. The ground rumbles and Bryony bites back a yelp, instead grabbing onto the door frame. Another meteor hits and then another. In the distance, she can see Kyle riding off into the morning sun. Abandoning them.

Another meteor hits. Bryony stands there, smiling, an emptiness to her expression as the world blows apart in front of her. There is only one man who would cause this level of chaos, not stopping to think about his actions. Her temper begins to boil in the same way it had with Adam Shepard . The entire building trembles as the hyper beam cuts through it.

She should be afraid. Common sense dictates now is the time to surrender. Mateo has won.

But Bryony calls forth a pokemon and walks out, through the minefield laid before the Canary Clamperls. Where is cait alfric 's megaphone when she needs it? It doesn't matter. "Go find Mateo. Don't do anything except stare him down."

Her altaria chirps in agreement before taking to the skies, nimbly dodging whatever might come its way. When it finds Mateo and his gyarados, Zuzu does as ordered. It hovers in front of the dragon master and stares.

Is this for real. First Hycanth and now Canary. Whats next gamet halls going to be crushing down too? With the ground shaking Morgan did not have much time to run. From the outside meteors could be seen raining down like the extinction event that supposedly happened to the ancient fossil pokemon. Needless to say Morgan run as fast as he could from the Canary Hall blast zone.

HOLY Ho-Oh. Any thoughts she had, any composure she might have been projecting in that moment shattered into a million pieces of splintered glass. Her entire body quakes beneath the impact, and though she tries to brace herself, she's set off-balance. Cream rushes to her side, haphazardly wavering from side to side as she fights gravity as best she can. She can do nothing but repair what damage had been done. Rose is not particularly hurt, but some debris falls and catches in her hair. She's dusty, but relatively unscathed. Horrified, but not about to flee. Big blue eyes follow narrowly as kyle lopez and his band of Mightyena's make a hasty exit, then they follow as the other who just recently arrived also takes his leave. Reflexively her eyes turn to follow towards the kitchen, where @bryony had begun to go.[break][break]

In frustration, her eyes well up with tears, feeling helpless and useless. Two of her least favorite things to feel. Her voice is small, but sharp enough to carry "Bry, are you okay!?"[break][break]

"hahaha! burn, burn! understand the grave sin you all com--hah?" mateo paused in his excitement and gloating. he stared, briefly, at the altaria before him. it eyed him as he eyed it. he wasn't able to tell whom the altaria belonged to, but this wouldn't be the first time he received such a stare from this...specific...pokemon. "ah. . .ooooh..." it hit him, "ooooh!" he really got it. "we need to get the hell out of dodge, asap!" hitting gyarados atop of the head, he'd shout, "oi, oi!" gyarados and the other dragons, too, began to panick. realizing they had to leave.

haxorus and arcanine saw the blue dragon above, as well as the others, take off. they, too, followed in suit. mateo and company got out of dodge. not wanting to suffer the repercussions of @bryony 's wrath.

once he gets out of the explosion radius, he takes the leashes off of their mouths and gets them to follow the direction of mateo martinez . he finally sees him on top of a gyarados, to which he suddenly loses interest. no way he could get to him with just a party of mightyena. that would require stalking, but that required effort and patience.

"eh. too much effort."

he stops on his tracks and just watches the dragon tamer fly away. he gives in and walks towards slateport instead of the canary hall this time.

Morgan was having a nice dream in a king-sized bed from a night of excessive activity, when the impact of a barrage of flaming meteors collided with the warfront of Canary's main halls. Morgan's body was flung from the bed and hits the ground, "Ugh..."

This was not the dream he signed up for. Crawling over to his PokeNav, Morgan fumbled against the lamp until he found his charger and finally the damn comm device. He opened PokeCord and checked the groupchat for updates.

Turning on his heel, the huge man let out a piercing series of whistles, the tone and length of each note varying in some sort of pattern. At once, his three hulking pokemon set their considerable bulk and strength to clearing the rubble from the paths of the other humans, stacking it against cracked walls and leaning pillars in an attempt to shore it up. She's frightened, but in that moment the cool calm of emotional atrophy takes her. Beneath the spell of shock, deep-seated survival instincts compel her, dictating actions and negating reservations. There's no initial response when she calls out, and it's hard to say if Bryony had heard her or if she was indisposed. "Bryony?" Once the building stills and rubble settles, Rose manages to scramble to her feet. [break][break]

She's aware of Bronze's actions, and, somewhat to her surprise, trusts his judgement. Or, perhaps, it was that she trusted his companions. His beasts bulldoze through the wreckage to clear a path and light pours in through the cracks of the building facade, or, what remained of it. Bronze's voice seems far away, swallowed up by the empty spaces created by the onslaught, but Rose has her wits about her enough to respond. "I'm fine, where's Bryony?" Her voice is both higher pitched and quieter. Cream clambers over upon all fours, emitting a soft, sweet, warbling sound distinct to her. Without being asked, as if she knew, she begins to weave towards where Bryony had last been seen in search of the girl.[break][break]

Rose dusts herself off as best she can, then looks around at the destruction. Her brows furrow and irritation grows in surveying the scene. Blinking, she considers how this was only a game, but she could not find the fun in essentially sucker punching innocent bystanders. It went against all her sensibilities. "Did anyone see who that was? Who was that?" She didn't care what team they were on, she wanted a face. She wanted a name.[break][break]

kyle takes out his phone on his way out. he calls the first name he sees on his contacts that was also a member of the same house - @bryony . he was sure everyone else was alive.

"hello, hello," he says as she picks up. "are you injured or something?"

on one hand, not being injured is always good. on the other, he gets to guilt trip mateo martinez if his attack did ever got his friend hurt and that would make him feel bad for a week or two. it was a win-win.
