Melody smiled at their small sweet moment they shared. it then quickly turned to a frown when an uninvited guest appeared amongst their midst. [break][break]

She raises an annoyed eyebrow at the man "Oh really? I thought all you guys did was suddenly appear, talk shit, then vanish when we defy whatever the fuck you ask/say/do. Anyways fuck off already, where's Keldeo?!" [break][break]

And to no one's surprise, he had friends, fun house mirror versions of themselves. Melody's counter part with Cobalion seemed to be different. Stubborn, as if she had an unshakeable will of her own, no one could influence her. She even had Melody's rapier. [break][break]

Without a word the doppel lunges forward at their respective counter part and immediately begin to battle. Melody was matching step per step with her doppel but a strange thing started to occur, Melody could create copies of her sword and seemingly control them, firing the copies like missiles. [break][break]

She was on the back foot the entire time and continue to fight defensively . "All form, no function." she taunted. Melody gritted her teeth as Kyle asked them if they're going to brute force "We win together, Cobalion!" she says as she points to the virizion, "Hold her down!" as she tries to give MATIAS SILPH more action economy. [break][break]

Cobalion obeys, using his paralyzing gaze (Thunder wave) to stun the virizion and cripple her movements.

"oh, nice. you're virizion's best check out of us three, i think," he tells melody.

she was the one who tries the most out of them, and the one with the faster response on things. if anyone can match the virizion's speed, it would be melody's intuition with pacing and tempo. it helps that her persistence easily whittles away from matias' impatience.

"and matias can go after terrakion."

type advantage aside, kyle had always relied on exploiting openings rather than make them himself. matias' method of brute forcing things leaves little room for him to overthink as another blow usually comes just as he would start setting up for a countermeasure.

"and i guess that leaves me to check coballion."

the more things melody does, the more she opens herself up for holes in her strategies. her whole thing is to make things happen, which was directly opposed by kyle's way of making sure those things are thwarted.

kyle's copy doesn't speak. much like him getting into the zone whenever things get serious, he guesses the response to stimuli could have been the same for him. the similarities end there, as kyle remains cool amid the situation.

the presence of melody and matias keep him comfortable. his carefree study of the battlefield under this solace allows him to notice the minute shifts in the chaos, such as the sudden chase of the alternate melody to her counterpart.

concentrating more on staying ahead than finishing the objective fast, kyle whistles for terrakion to erect an earthen wall of stone edge. sharp edges jut out towards their direction, splitting melody and her clone while simultaneously stopping their advances to chase after her.

the wall breaks immediately, where kyle's clone can be seen snapping a finger to destroy defenses. the other terrakion comes rushing in afterwards, aiming at kyle.

"he probably thinks i have the same abilities as him," he mumbles before his voice solidifies. "matias!"

steering away from the pink virizion, narrowly avoiding its SACRED SWORD, matias and VIRIZION disappear in a green blur before reappearing to interrupt the other terrakion.[break][break]

his words are not minced like the other terrakion will soon be. LEAF BLADE strikes at the other terrakion.[break][break]

He wasn't the fastest or the hardest hitting of the bunch, he was the one who knew how to ensure that he was focused. In other words, he knew how to be a pain in the ass and melody was going to fully capitalize on it. She recalls Maksim into his pokeball for safe keeping as he was hiding during the fight, she sends out her oricorio and syncs up with it as her sygnasuit manifests across her body. She stomps her heel as the and drums up a FEATHER DANCE to weaken their opponents as Oricorio uses a MIRROR MOVE to copy SMART STRIKE

What good was it's speed when it couldn't hit hard or fast? [break][break]

Meanwhile the fake Cobalion and Melody who were split off by kyle lopez's influence recuperate themselves and decides to give chase towards the True diva of hoenn. Launching a SACRED SWORD towards the two as the real Melody was currently preoccupied with fake Matias.

he should have expected matias' reaction, but a simple reminder will explain melody and kyle's urgency to be efficient.

"our priority is keldeo, remember?"

as much as he would have found it more interesting to verse against an alternate version of himself, time was of the essence. clearing this obstacle was an inevitability gated by time.

kyle's terrakion shakes the earth, bulldozing the path between the two melodies and coballion. without the attention on them, the earth collapses underneath, managing to catch the two of them in a crevice.

noticing that his pokemon is in dire straits, the other kyle shifts his attention from supporting the other melody to confronting matias. the same whistles kyle uses are employed, giving an order to his terrakion.

stone edge erupts from the ground, helping the other virizion limit their own virizion's movements with a stone wall. it charges right at it afterwards, coordinating an attack with their virizion.

though it would be so easy to call out reinforcements to end the battle as quick as possible, there would be no honor in doing so. his hand hovers near his belt out of instinct only to move away when the realization hits.[break][break]

"yeah, yeah, keldeo."[break][break]

the STONE EDGES that erupt quickly sink back into the ground, freeing VIRIZION to move and close the distance once more to draw the final LEAF BLADE along the other terrakion's body.[break][break]

matias' hand doesn't even fall back down to his side. he flicks his wrist, sending a wave of EARTH SPIKES jutting out of the ground at their enemies, hoping to pin them down.[break][break]

The orchestrated battle was quickly reaching it's climax. Melody sought it fit to end the battle with a final crescendo. Earthen spikes erupt out the ground like pin needles piercing a piece of fabric a thousand times over. [break][break]

The fake Cobalion and Melody were effectively stuck, it seems she could not use her sword manipulation ability unless she could move her hands and the fake cobalion was unable to reach the earth spikes that held him down without his sword. "Cobalion, paralyze them all." she orders as Cobalion uses his GOLDEN STARE (thunderwave) on pokemon and trainers alike to assist in subduing the enemies. [break][break]

"It's over. You can't stop us if we're working together." she declares, she was going to uphold her end of the promise.

in a last ditch effort, their counterparts joins in on their own coordinated attack.

their own pokemon unsheathe their sacred swords, crossing them together like the mark kyle, melody and matias just made, before starting to eliminate their targets one by one.

avatar abilities join in too, but their first target isn't revealed as terrakion steps forward to intercept.

"it helps that we're the main characters and you guys are just cannon fodder for chef guy," he adds to melody's statement.

terrakion steels himself as he stands his ground, receiving the hits squarely with his own sword. he glows white as he charges up, and then swipes across the enemy, parrying the attack while the feedback loops to its allies behind him.

TERRAKION: NOBLESSE OBLIGE
ROCK-TYPE
terrakion mitigates damage and redirects attacks to itself before striking back with its sword of justice. damage taken is compounded as a boost to the protected party's attack.

with a sudden tug, they veer away from incoming attacks before disappearing behind the cover of TERRAKION'S Z-MOVE. there, he breathes, taking a moment to catch his breath under the sounds of impact after impact, each stronger than the last.[break][break]

"hang in there, fatso!"[break][break]

he means no slight to TERRAKION, knowing the sword of justice to be a formidable tank, its defenses unmatched. the brilliance of their Z-MOVE shines as it utilizes defense and turns it into offense.[break][break]

"fucking nice!"[break][break]

in sync, matias and VIRIZION dart out the same time TERRAKION does. they charge alongside, brandishing their SACRED SWORDS as their Z-MOVE synergizes into one final attack.[break][break]

virizion disappears behind a swirl of MAGICAL LEAVES, able to blink and reappear to deal additional sneak attack damage with its sword of justice. damage done will also lower enemies' defense.

Matias and Kyle had this handled. She doesn't want to waste any time and rushes forward to try and rescue the Keldeo. [break][break]

As she runs past, she watches her copy fall to the floor. Lifeless. She had started to begin to feel numb about it but she wondered if this one was even real, it had no personality, no words exchanged. [break][break]

Was it a copy like the one in the mechanical kingdom? A fragment of her? [break][break]

Cobalion shoves himself alongside her to jolt her awake and points out the metal scraps, hoof prints, etc. She panics "He's this way! Look!" she says as she spots the injured pokemon extremely injured. "Keldeo! No!" she says as she rushes up to him, sliding in on her knees to it. "You poor thing, are you ok?!" she says as she looks over and see's it's horn was injured, it's body full of scrapes bruises and cuts. [break][break]

"Kyle! Matias!" she calls out to her allies "I need you guys! Over here! I found him, he's hurt!" as she tries to carefully pick him up. If Cuanto was still listening she'd yell out to him "Why did you guys have to drag this poor pokemon into it?! he's trying to deal with these anomolies! isn't that what you want?!"

kyle was crouched over his copy, frisking him for any identification to clue in of his origins.

the smell of ash and smoke were swept by the wind, hidden by the chaos of the aftermath of their skirmish. death is met with sympathy, fueled by curiosity that comes with the presence of the unknown -- the drk triad.

the shiny terrakion comes as a collateral for his plans, and before he can move on to the others, melody's voice tugs him in.

"i have potions," he tells her, closing in with his hands on his pouch. producing one, he tosses it to melody.

the interrogation comes. terrakion comes in with kyle as support, stern eyes glaring at the drk triad member.

"you should tell us what the drk triad is experimenting," he suggests. "who knows? maybe this universe will test it for you if you just plant a seed of doubt in their heads."
