[attr="class","snub-greyson"]Greyson barreled through the halls of League Headquarters scattering people and Pokémon alike -- he could seldom hear the whispers and curiosities as single-minded as he was.

He rounds the corner and walks past the executive assistant, ignoring their questions and pleas.

Forcing himself through the open door he continues until finding the couch, settling into the furthest seat, one arm stiffly resting on the cushioned armrest.

After a moment, the span of which is takes him to bring his adrenaline spiked frustration to heel, he speaks.

"We should talk."

[attr="class","body"] ollie morales, Head Ranger, is known for having an open door policy. A stark difference from his predecessors, both who held their cards far closer to their chest and were - in general - less "people" persons.

[break][break] Such things made it easy for anyone to walk into his office, whether or not he was there.

[break][break] Which was inconvenient when people like Greyson Connors barged in without an appointment. Something that happened far more these days than Ollie would like to admit. After all, tensions were high these days — not just within the League, but in general. With the increased reports of "infected" pokemon and humans from rangers like annalise henderson, there was more work to do than ever.

[break][break] So naturally, it surprised him when Greyson Connors burst in half-way through a meeting with a senior ranger who was giving him a similar report. Both men turned to stare at the intruder.

[break][break] 'Uh? We do?'

[break][break] Ollie stared at the Elite Four member for a moment, before waving his hand at the ranger he was speaking to.

[break][break] "Thanks for these, Thompson. Give us a minute?"

[break][break] The redhead gave Greyson Connors a look before shuffling out of the office.

[break][break] Ollie cleared his throat.

[break][break] "What's the matter?" he frowned, striding over to where the other man sat on his - admittingly messy - couch. "Are you okay?"

[break][break] Verdant green eyes scanned the other for injuries, though he knew it was hypocritical to judge him. After all, Ollie had jumped back into the fray shortly after getting the clean bill of health from Eva Morales after the Kyurem fight. Perhaps a little too shortly if the likes of willow atkins had anything to say about it.

[attr="class","snub-greyson"]Typically Greyson would have apologized for interrupting a meeting like this — arceus, it burned him raw to know that whoever this Elite Ranger was would not have something to shoot the shit about around the skuddlebutt.

But this needed to be addressed now.

Tissue rolls chaotically beneath the skin of his hand as he tenses, and flexes his fingers. He let's out a slow, quiet breath, lest he turn the anger welling inside onto ollie morales. Or at least, more than he wanted.

"A member of your amnesty program showed up to my house. How the hell are we giving these... people, sensitive information like that?"

[break][break] "What do you mean? Someone arrived at your house? How - Are you okay?" He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. "I'm sorry. Tell me what happened."

[break][break] Anxiety thrummed through his veins. After the conversations he'd been having lately with annalise henderson and PENELOPE LIVY both regarding the Ranger program, this was the last thing that they needed to have happen.

[break][break] "Even if Caleb did still have Rocket friends, he wouldn't. It's been years since he was apart of Rocket - and he wasn't even in Hoenn for that."

[break][break] The Head Ranger's arms fold, turning a stern look upon the other man.

[break][break] "Plus, the Amnesty Program isn't mine. You know as well as I do that it's a program supplemented and supplied by dahlia goode and the League."

[break][break] A moment passes, however, and his expression softens.

[break][break] "But I get it. Tensions are high." Concern for the other belies his tolerance for the matter, and he steps forward, deciding to sit next to the other man on the couch. "What did he say to you that's got you like this?"

Anger spikes with a hitched breath. It takes every ounce of willpower to keep him invading the others man's space.

"I don't give a shit if Arceus itself came down and created the program. You and freya morningstar manage it, and bear any responsibility for its short comings. That includes when my fucking address is leaked."

Ollie's prompt reminds Greyson of Caleb Harcourt's words. The harsh truth had stuck with him, like a Beedrill's stinger, only the poison filtering through his system was one of his own design—guilt.

"Look," it's one part deflection, one part truth, but he still considers it a low blow even bringing it up. "How do you think it would've gone if annalise henderson was there?"

Never mind the breakup, of course.

[break][break] "I'll look into it," he promises instead, deflecting. However, his eyes sharpen like emeralds briefly, as a reminder. "But if your address was leaked, if Caleb somehow found it, then it doesn't have anything to do with the program."

[break][break] There are many flaws with the program and perhaps a lot more to pick at, but Caleb Harcourt is not one of them.

[break][break] His voice is firm.

[break][break] At the mention of annalise henderson, however, he blinks. He can't help - this time - the surprise that leaks into his voice.

"No, we aren't, but we're—" What were they?"—Friends. And, you know damn well the kind of impact something like that could have on her."

He pushes on, not wanting to linger on the topic of Annalise longer than necessary.

"If he shows up at my door again, I don't care if it's as a paperboy, my response will be far less kind this time around."

As her friend, he damn well what it would mean if someone like Caleb Harcourt had broken in and annalise henderson had been there. And yet, Ollie didn't want to acknowledge it. He wanted to ignore it, just like he tried ignoring everything else.

[break][break] The Head Ranger let out a sigh of relief.

[break][break] "Friends. That's good," he said, murmuring more to himself than anything. When he'd first heard news of their breakup, he had been concerned. Not only because he cared for her, but because he knew that a break-up — and the feelings that went along with it — was the last thing that the former Head Ranger needed. "That's good."

[break][break] He's pulled away from his thoughts by Greyson's stern voice.

[break][break] "I wouldn't expect any less," he said, shaking his head. "I'll talk to him too."

[break][break] "I don't know how he got to your house but —"

[break][break] His voice grew steely.

[break][break] "Regardless of his former allegiance, I won't abide by one of our Rangers doing that. It's a breach of security. And - given everything else that's going on these days - it's the last thing we need."

[break][break] Ollie frowns, glancing at the scar on his hand from his encounter with NEON.

[break][break] "What did he want anyway?" Ollie asked, blinking. He realized that the Elite Four had not mentioned it yet, just the fact that he'd appeared unannounced. "It must've been important if he was willing to show up at your house."

He nods simply.

But again, Ollie focuses on the meat of the conversation. Greyson doesn't blame him—he'd be interested if he was in the other man's shoes.

"Ask him. I'm sure he'll have spun quite a story by then." His own anger has simmered but could easily flash back up. He needed a break. "I'm trusting you to handle this, Ollie. Next time I'll handle this."
