Had Josh struck a nerve? He must have; Cian looked depressed. Having seen the outcome of the simulation before, both on the winning side and the losing side, Josh smiled when the Rustboro Leader decided to take aim at the Apex Koraidon, not with a Pokémon, but with his words. "Koraidon can do it, but not on his own. Let's support him!"

With Swift being their legendary steed and only knowing Spark, the monochrome Pokémon would be of little use in battle. Instead, he called forth Raikou the Raging Bolt, both of the getting a good look at how the species resembled one another. The purple thunderclouds surrounding the electric dragon's head turned a brilliant white, the paradox spewing DRAGON BREATH all over the Apex Koraidon, stiffening its muscles and letting the smaller Koraidon fight back. Now with a speed advantage, the on-wheels Koraidon squealed them loudly, on a COLLISION COURSE with the battle-ready one.

The two rammed into one another violently, the smaller Koraidon spinning out but barely recovering, unlike its larger brethren. Unwilling to fight against two powerful paradoxes at the same time, the fighting-type limped deeper into Area Zero and out of sight.

• Win the battle.

The Koraidon offers its back to you. You must push onward. As you sprint, glide or climb through the cave, you discover crystalized plant life, including Herba Mystica. Glimmora and Paradox Pokemon wander around you, presumably native to this mysterious place.[break][break]

"Anytime, Cian!" Josh instinctively thanked the Rustboro Leader before he saw him turn around. "You don't want a victory lap on Korai--"

By the time he could finish his sentence, Cian had already logged out of the RKS Simulation, leaving Josh alone. Disappointing. It seemed he was too busy, or uninterested, in what Josh wanted to do. Likely the latter, given that it would involve vomit-inducing speed.

Josh slid down from Swift's back and took to Koraidon's, grabbing onto the red dragon's exposed steering bones. He felt the purr-like rumble of the paradox's growl. "Great to see you again, buddy!" he called out, gently patting the back of his mount's head. "I've got a new friend that can keep up with you! Meet Swift!" he gestured toward the ashen Raikou. Seeing the Beast's presence as a challenge, the Koraidon bounded toward the center of the bottom of Area Zero, near where Swift stood. At Josh's command, the two took off up the trail toward the surface.

The tiger's acceleration was faster, leading the way up the gently-sloping trail. As the Koraidon under Josh's control lagged behind, its air sacs spun fast enough to create a whirlwind around each one. After a low leap, it raised its legs and landed on the spinning organs, which squealed like screeching tires upon touching the rocky ground. The sudden increase in speed whipped Josh back in his seat, feeling like he was discharged from the barrel of a firearm.

The rate at which Koraidon closed the gap slowed as Swift got up to speed. Even so, it was evident that the Winged King exceeded the capabilities of the Johtonian god of speed. It was a bittersweet sight: confirmation that the dragon-type had dethroned Raikou of his title of fastest Pokémon on land.

Even so, Swift was his boy, and no one could take that away from him. Josh looked forward to the day he could return to the simulation after the Beast regained the Extreme Speed he remembered. As the two sped past Area Zero's confines, Josh's vision turned to white as the simulation forcibly logged him out...
