It was not a Megalopolis steeped in darkness, but one brimming with beautiful light that Andrea found herself in. Her body felt light as a feather, no longer aching from the cruel and unusual punishments inflicted by their wardens.

The tools of her oppression, the chain and mask, were gone. Likewise, the prison garbs that had been forced on every inmate were replaced by her Hydreigon-inspired Sygna Suit. She was free within the confines of this lucid dream; free to be herself.

There was someone else across the street. They had met before, in a Megalopolis that resembled a nightmare more than it did a dream; a wretched city filled with abominations and men driven mad by the dark.

Would he even recognize her? Would she even recognize him?

She cautiously approached him, ignorant as to whether he was real or a figment of her imagination. “Hi… Do you know what’s going on? How did we end up here?”

It feels a little strange, to be back here.

Not that you were ever really "here", mind. From what you've been told, Lesser Megalopolis and Ultra Megalopolis are different places? It doesn't matter to you. Whether it's Lesser or Ultra, reality or a dream, cloaked in sheer dark or bathed in neon light, it's familiar all the same.

And it's no easier to navigate than it was last time. Once again, you find yourself blindly wandering these alien streets, getting more and more lost with every step. Unlike last time, you know exactly what you're looking for, but just like last time, you have no idea how to find it. And this time?The clock is ticking. You don't know when you'll wake up. You need to find her, before--

There was a delayed reaction. The face she beheld looked familiar, but also different. "Y-you!" The eccentric cosplayer parroted, having a sudden bout of social anxiety.

What if he still hated her guts? What if he wanted nothing to do with her?

"Whatever you do, please don't yell at me again! One minute I was in an awful prison with a Toxic Chain around my neck, the next I'm here! I don't know what's real anymore! I just wanna get back home!" She frantically said, tearing up. It didn't take much for the dam to break after the horrible day she'd just had.

Fucking hell.

Just your luck, huh? Once again, you've found yourself lost in a Megalopolan City with her, of all people. Why is she even here? She wasn't on Route 119 that day. She's not some important bigwig in the League or Rocket. Who even is she? Are they just grabbing any man, woman, or child they can get their hands on? More and more and more questions, and yet, the answers continue to evade you.

You pinch the bridge of your nose and let out a deep sigh. You don't have time for this. Not again. You've got too much going on, and you know damn well you're not going to have enough time to do it.

"Look, I don't know what's going on either." You admit, your face reaching new heights of exaggeration. "But there's people in here that are gonna fix it, alright? But those people aren't me, so go bother someone else about it. I've got other shit to do..."

With that, you pick one of the many alleys leading deeper into the city, and begin walking.

“Other stuff?! Like what?!” The girl pouted indignantly, wiping the tears from her eyes. “Don’t walk away from me!” She gave chase to the retreating Rocket beast, intent on not letting this opportunity go to waste.

“M-maybe we got off the wrong foot last time, so let’s start over. I’m Andrea, nice to meet you!” The young PokéManiac reintroduced herself, holding out a sock puppet of a hand towards the blonde man.

“Like it or not, we only found our way out of Lesser Megalopolis by working together, so we’ll have to do the same here.” Andrea pointed out. “Which ward are you in? The guards mentioned there were three. I’m in Dummy. We should make some sort of plan. We can’t expect that people will come to rescue us in… wherever this is!”

Calling this an "opportunity" was generous. Was it an opportunity when you ran into an old ""friend"" who wouldn't stop yapping? No, it wasn't. It was annoying. Doubly so, as she dragged the conversation on and on, and the seconds turned into minutes, and all the while you got closer and closer to waking up.

But, there's no helping it, is there? It's like trying to pull a leech off your skin. The harder you try to be rid of her, the harder she'll try to stick to you. So, with no better options, it seems you'll just have to let her drain you for a bit before you go your separate ways.

That doesn't stop you from letting out a very loud and obviously annoyed sigh first, though.

"Yeah, sure, okay." You deadpan, meeting her hand with the least enthused shake of all time. "My name is Jeff Leppard, Weakling Ward. I wish it were a pleasure, but it really isn't."

Because of terrible circumstances you find yourselves in, and definitely no other reason.

"Alright, then, enlighten me: What's the plan?"

Andrea more than made up for his lack of enthusiasm, shaking the hand of ‘Jeff Leppard’ warmly. “See, it wasn’t that hard, was it?” She smiled. New friend acquired!

Being questioned about her plan made that smile vanish. “Well, the thing is… I don’t actually have one.” The girl sheepishly admitted with downcast eyes. “I thought about using the Tera Crystals, but that plan didn’t really work out…”

Great. Fan-fucking-tastic. All of that yapping about how you need to work together, and she doesn't even know what she's supposed to work towards. But hey, what did you even expect? The Megalopolis might be different, but her brain is exactly the same. You exhale hard through your nose. No point lingering on it. After all, if Lulu Flint doesn't have anything, then you doubt anyone else will.

Shit, Lulu! You were so distracted by this dirt road of a conversation that she completely slipped your mind. You need to hurry up. You need to find her. You need to keep your promise.

And you're not going to do that staying her. You take a step away, only to glance back to the Pokemaniac in front of you. What are the odds she'll let you just up and leave now that she's found you? Close to zero. No, you'll have to make up a good excuse to break off, and preferably one that doesn't take too long to justify.

"Alright, well... What about the centre of the city?" You answer, jerking your thumb towards the distant yet brilliant plaza as you do. "You go check that out, and I'll check everything on the outskirts. Deal?"

That plaza do be brilliant. Perfect to distract an easily distracted girl. Ah, the struggles of people with chemically imbalanced brains.

“On it, Mr. Jeff!” The dragon fanatic exclaimed with a military-esque salute. “While I’m at it, I’m gonna keep looking for that green Pokémon that beat us up! If we’re all having this dream together, maybe she could be here too!”

Now THAT was a plan. Andrea was convinced that the ogre from the filth-infested pit was the key. If they could somehow sway her to their side, they could get an upper hand against those three fiendish wardens.

And so, off she went, mimicking the ogre’s signature cry with remarkable accuracy as she ran through the streets of this dreamlike metropolis. “PON! PON! PON!”
