And yeah, perhaps she'll wake back up to a hellscape where Isaac Merlo bears horrible injuries and death awaits them all. But right now, she forces herself to explore all that she can with whatever little time she has left.[break][break]

Having already seen Hideo and Doug, there comes a realisation that either this or the prison situation must be one of those connected dreams. If so, whilst she still has free reign over where she may go, she has to find Reiner. At the very least, traces of him.[break][break]

Everything will be fine if she can just find him.

People pass him by without looking. With his newfound mental acuity, Navy reminisces about life in Slateport. He was one of the people towering above him, once. Life in the city imparts certain lessons. Sympathy is precious currency. Spread too much good will and you yourself will end up destitute.[break][break]
This is his reward. Although his mind is as it should be, a first for a very long time, his body can’t move. Unless strangers help him get from point A to point B, he is simply stuck resting. Across the street, floating in a vat of green liquid, is Shuwen. The daycare is empty save for him and some other Pokemon, unseen from where Navy sits.[break][break]
His bear deserves better. A familiar face passing by breaks the reverie.[break][break]
“Eris?” It is the first time Eris has seen Navy in weeks, ever since he went missing.

Seeing her breaks a dam. He remembers the vision, where he finally had a family again. Eris was there somewhere, just out of sight, safe in the walls of Motostoke. He’s sure of that. He’s sure all was right in the world. Thrown back into this maelstrom, seeing her face caked with old tears, finally breaks him down.[break][break]
“I’m sorry, kid.” He croaks. “I’m sorry.” He has the acuity to think, which means his captors have blessed him with a poisoned well: he has the acuity to realize, after his vision, precisely what he has lost. He drinks deep of that water and it poisons everything inside him. His eyes overflow with years and years and years’ worth of tears.[break][break]
“Kyle’s gone. I worked myself so hard I couldn’t stop you or anybody else from getting caught up in this. I’m…I’m real sorry.”

No one can outpace it. And yet, that very knowledge will never hold the power to soothe, to mend broken hearts.[break][break]

Factual as it may be, it probably won't dissolve the immense guilt that weighs upon him. But she needs to be a voice of reason, she needs to be his anchor in this very situation. Just like he has been for her far too many times.[break][break]

Imaginary as this world may be, she can at least thank it for letting her seem presentable. Without the little cuts and scrapes from the hard labour, without the stench of blood clinging to her clothes. In the real world, she is asleep, well-aware of how she'll have to face much more pain and toil twice as hard to help cover for others. Time tick-ticks on by. At some point, they will be dragged from this landscape of peace, but the time that she spends here, with him. It is not to be considered a waste.[break][break]
