priam conrad calls it a dream, but there is nothing dream-like about this reality. At least not as far as his own dreams are concerned.

[break][break] Jayden has always been much more familiar with nightmares, ones perhaps as cruel as the ones that DIONYSUS had cursed them all with those months ago with the help of a timely God. Perhaps only the power of Dialga could've made him different, more normal, but as it was — this dreamscape was stranger than the poisonous mochi that they were forced to consume.

[break][break] HATRED simmered beneath his skin as he strolled under the city's flickering lights, in pursuit of the only thing that would cure his anguished heart.

[break][break] It was here. He knew it. He could feel it. The safety of that cold, dark prison had vanished, replaced by the frantic, nearly relentless pursuit of familiar power. His mind grew frayed, nearly threadbare, the closer he got. The more he neared that frozen source.

[break][break] With reckless abandon, he pursued that path, drawn towards it like an unbreakable tether of destiny, the weakening bonds of his ruinous patron strengthening with each passing moment.

[break][break] Jayden pressed on, not knowing what he would find around the next corner. But then, he saw it. A series of unfamiliar glass enclosures — within them, undoubtedly, the pokemon that had been kept from them. All were suspended in a strange, peculiar liquid, either unconscious or in slumber. His throat tightened as he stepped towards the sight of CHIEN PAO within one of the containers, only to immediately freeze when he saw a familiar set of amber eyes.

There is nothing like the taste of ecstasy. The fresh droplets of sanctity in a world devoid of it. It was here, somewhere, most likely locked away in the same beastly manner they were. Even then, she could feel it again; like kindling flames reigniting in her stomach, fueling power into her bones, meaning into her synapses. The nightmare of that cold, dark prison had all but vanished now, replaced by pooling familiarity and blinding neon lights.

With every pump of her legs pulling her closer toward the ultimate source of this overwhelming feeling, Penelope could feel the stitches of her mind realigning, making room for the tattered pieces nearly discarded. Piece by piece, this walk rebuilt her, using threads of ENVY as the glue, allowing her to feel whole again. As though this charade had never happened.

One corner was turned, and there it was. Encased in an invisible mold, left unable to move, much less break the barrier containing it. Starring up at the entity, Penelope could feel hear body physically reacting to its imagery, reaching up to it as though simple fingers were all that were necessary to bridge the two of them together.

She blinked, caught off guard by the voice. Her then eyes rolled downward, hitting solid ground.
