Admittedly he is hurt that the other doesn't seem to want to comply, it wasn't like it was simple for him to tell the other this. His entire life had been built on a lie and now he was forced to have it come crashing down. "What trying to catch one of Rocket's Underbosses is wrong?" he questions back with his own frustration, this whole situation stressing him out and the Head Ranger, his apparent friend wasn't helping with it. [break][break]

Though its as that thought hits him, and Ollie mentions about knowing what its like that he realizes his fault. The pressures of being in charge and its demands to fall in line and keep things updated. It didn't make this situation feel any better but he was slightly more understanding about it. He subconsciously just holds Salem tighter as his stress just seems to continue to increase as he mentions telling dahlia goode and going through the 'right' channels and yet there has been nothing 'right' about all he's done. [break][break]

"Fine...." he's reluctant about it but he's accepting because it seems that he'll have to bend more. "Though after it all happens... I wouldn't mind... telling the rangers that is.... and I guess I'll be fine with stepping down if needed be," he mumbles his other worry about this whole thing. He's built up so much and has put everything he had into the Rangers as they were the distracted he needed to get himself out of his negative head space back then. [break][break]

Razz tries to tell himself that it wasn't like most hadn't already turned on him before when he left to be a Ranger for FERNANDO SILPH, and he can't help but feel that it might be worse once the cat is out of the bag here. It didn't make it hurt any less though.

[break][break] what was it about the people that he cared about - Yuina Higashi, PENELOPE LIVY, Caleb Harcourt - not letting him protect them?

[break][break] the brunette shook his head when the other spoke about stepping down. about punishment.

[break][break] "you shouldn't have to - i don't think. you've done a lot for the league," he says, firm in his belief. "dahlia knows that. i know that."

[break][break] he thinks about how CIAN MAHER got amnesty for simply giving intel to the league. razz has done that, and more. and now he was willing to risk his life for such a gesture.

[break][break] ollie, in all his unbelievable optimism, could never see that being used against him.

[break][break] a hand reaches out, gentle, to ruffle the other boy's head. like he used to when he was just a ranger, and razz was just a kid, lost in the world, not sure where he was going.

"So is going to war as a teenage soldier but that didn't stop me," in fairness he didn't have a say in that, "And becoming a ranger of all things despite the crimes I've committed," he could've kept with his stupid IT job because then he could've stay under the radar and this whole thing never would've been a problem. Yet he knows his guilt would've properly eaten him alive had he stayed with that job over the current one that made him feel worth something for once. [break][break]

At least until the other throws his rank in his face. [break][break]

He's already been verbally abused by THEO BECKETT for this and now his recruiter was demeaning him for it. He was deemed enough at one point to be Head Ranger but his lack of experience with people hindered his ability. His lack of experience in life showed his worse while Ollie was able to thrive with it. "I am a god. Damn. CAPTAIN! I have fought in multiple wars, I have beaten Cillian Quinn before," and had it not been for the other's apparent boyfriend? Husband? Whatever he would've captured him too, "I have captured others and evened help a few defect, I helped protect Slateport when necrozma first showed it's ugly face in Hoenn," and there was more but if he named everything they'd be here much longer, "And I'm just Razz to you?" he questions the other with clear hurt and anger written across his face. "I kept this secret for six long years and not you nor others had suspecting a thing, so I've done a lot on my own before"[break][break]

"i just want to protect you."

"Well you didn't have to belittle me while doing so sir," the 'sir' said with a tad bit of venom as if the other wanted to throw rank in his face, talk to him as 'Head Ranger' rather than as his friend then so be it. Salem wiggles out of his arms and gets in front of him seeming to try and say something with his meows, the only reason he was able to pick up on anything was because the psychic pressure the cat push on him. Trying to help Razz understand Ollie's view but he is just so tired of people he looks up to thinking so little of him when he tries so hard. [break][break]

The other seems to at least try to bring some comfort as he reassures that he could keep his rank despite everything. Pretending that both her and the Commissioner knew everything he's done for the league was enough. "Sure it will..." he mummbles as he just allows the other to ruffle his hair, though like before he tenses up, this whole conversation seeming to just put the other as just another person above him who claims to give a damn but when push came to shove just wanted to remind him of his place.

[break][break] "i didn't say you weren't important," he says back, trying to keep his voice level, trying to keep his voice rising and falling into the same crater that he thinks Raziel Beckett is trying to drag him into. even though they're standing on the balcony still, it feels hot and stuffy and like he might drown in the same way that he suffocated under MATIAS SILPH's black sun.

[break][break] "but you are still razz. it's not just razz — you are razz, one of my closest friends, one of the strongest trainers that i know."

[break][break] not to mention that he'd been avatar once before. a god wouldn't choose someone like razz without a reason.

[break][break] "but no matter what, you're still just one person. you could be the strongest person in the world - "

[break][break] "and you could still die."

[break][break] his eyes smoulder the color of green everglades and he grips the other's shoulders, tight, as he wills him to understand it. the weight of his body leans against the boy's smaller frame.

[break][break] "i don't want you to die," he said, something choking around his throat that he cannot - will not - name. "don't you get that, razz?"

[break][break] or worse, fall down from a cliff that he can't find him. he'd seen what such vengeance did to men like MATIAS SILPH, what the cost of such reckless power was. and he didn't want that, not for him, and not for anyone else that he cared for.

This isn't him... As he yells at the other he can't help but feel like he is also an outside observer watching as frustrations that he has been holding in for so long is vented out. Frustration that he is normally able to keep in because emotions weren't something to be felt or shown. Yet his ripple of emotions had become a tilde wave that he just couldn't suppress anymore and now he was forcing ollie morales of all people to be the calm and rational one between. [break][break]

Just when has become this unfamiliar someone?[break][break]

"Am I though...?" he questions this time as once more the other calls him 'Razz' and for the first time since he had changed the name does it feel foreign. Just a name to hide who he was, but even then was this ever really him? Not that there is time to question his identity when the other is trying to get through to him about his worries. As the other grips him back to reality as the other leans on him as if to help ground. Razz... Raziel trying to trying to understand the emotion of this conversation and not just the logic. "I.. think I do I'm just... just not use to it."[break][break]

"I've been on my own too long, I was on my own when I first ran away and had to learn to fend for myself... [break]
On my own when the Mossdeep Rangers thought I was setting them up for a trap and no one believed me...[break]
When Laurence Anderson and Katherine Fairburne attacked a civilian...[break]

Everything he's come to count on himself because everyone who claimed to care for him back would always choose someone or something over him. For those of his past it they would always choose Rocket over him. Even those he felt close to now all had someone else like Eris Halla with Chu-e Choi, Melody Miro felt like she had a whole region to worry about, hell even angelo vestri and skyler dross had each other.[break][break]

Yet now for the first time in a long time he finally feels like he is coming first to someone else and he doesn't know how to deal. He wraps his arms around the other and lets his head rest there. "I'm not going to die... pretty sure I'm too stubborn for it," he attempts to joke to reassure both himself and the other, "I'll take your help in the plan but just put some trust in me too"

[break][break] ollie huffed, staring at the younger ranger, as he tried to reel his emotions back, from his tide of frustration from rising even more than it already was.

[break][break] captain or not, Raziel Beckett was still a kid — he didn't know any better. he didn't know that he was a self-fulfilling prophecy, only ostracizing himself out of fear or some misguided sense of justice.

[break][break] he couldn't see it — and as his friend, it was ollie's job to guide him.

[break][break] ollie's hands gripped down on razz's shoulderblades, digging, before he let out a sigh, moving to ruffle the other boy's head.

[break][break] "of course i trust you, razz."

[break][break] he smiled then, feeling a flood of relief when he got at least some agreement from the other.

"You sure about that? A lot of those instances didn't really feel like just me being stubborn," he counters back as he doesn't think some of them to be his own fault. Well save for joining FERNANDO SILPH, that was definitely on his own terms. He lets the other ruffle his hair again flushing a bit in embarrassment as at times it would make him feel like a child, but he's come to learn and accept that the other does it out of endearment. [break][break]

"Feel free to tell dahlia goode I guess..." he's still not happy about the idea but he supposes its better Ollie tells her than him given his sway with people. "Eventually we can tell the Rangers as well, but not until after we catch him," because for now that was the important part, "I'm done hiding who I was and I'm fine with letting people know what it was like back then I think we're hitting a time where its better people know what Rocket is like behind closed doors, that a lot of what they promise is empty."[break][break]

He knows this rocket isn't the same as before, but they were nothing more than an extension. It was only a matter of time before Hoenn's branch would be forced to comply to it's main branch.
