Ah. Back into the machine; these weird strange simulations were always hard to wrap his mind around. Was there some kind of truth to them, were they a distraction? Kouji couldn’t really figure it out, but there was something cathartic to these runs.

Kouji spoke with a grin before the sounds of wind, the desert wind carrying a heavy feeling, dust rose up in the distance. It always felt so real, but right now, there really was only one decision. ”Just glad its not heatran this time.”

He wanted to wait, see it out until the very end, maybe the wind will bury them before they even got close to them? Passivity wasn’t really his best area, pokemon would just have to do the job of burying them.

[attr="class","itemcoltext"]You ask your troops to hold. You're patient. Observant. Something stirs within the sands, coursing through the golden ocean in search for rhythm and weight.[break][break]

As the opposing combatants descend toward the center of the desert's valley, the sands there twist into a whirlpool. A gigantic ORTHWORM begins to suck the opposing army into its endless gut.[break][break]

However, something is wrong. A strong shadow casts above you and your army. Should you look up, you see what seems to be pages of a book and a book cover closing in on you.

Just as expected, they were ready to come towards them even with their own height advantage. There were soldiers, this was a battlefield, and it had the tension of one; whoever blinked first lost.

As he drew for his pokeball, Kouji released his own Tyranitar who with a roar coalesced the pieces of sand being whipped up by the vents in his armor into rocks, packed tightly to fall in a Rock Slide but the sands below the dune began to shift, and the Iron Treads began to fall in, one after the other.

With rocks falling, and their footing falling apart, it became obvious that this result was in thei-, no, should’ve been in their favor. But the sky began to change. ”What the hell? This is the worst simulation yet, we don’t even get to battle.” Not that he had a huge hunger for a fight, but it was easier than following the motions.

Just how far would they have to go in order to break the simulation?
[break][break]
”I really want to test the limits of this thing, feels like it’s impossible to go off script…” The shadow fell, and began to grow stronger and stronger in color, it seems the next chapter would be waiting for them.

”these scenarios generally end in one of two outcomes. however, if some conditions aren’t met, we may remain in a simulation until they are. we could try to ‘test the limits’ then.”[break][break]

her eyes fell back to kouji approvingly, though she found it a mystery what might motivate him beyond dangerous curiosity.[break][break]

”unfortunately, by waiting to attack, we’ve already met one of the conditions. time is up.”[break][break]

the whirlpool of sand began to close again below.[break][break]

”but it is an interesting ending.” she pointed up at the sky, as the shadow of a book cover poured over their waiting army. it came down with the intent to smash them like words onto a page.[break][break]
