Summer is here. Though Dewford has been devastated by errant gods and saved by ancient heroes, life goes on. Nature works its old, tried and true circle. Old life ends, new life begins.[break][break]
The thought offers the sheriff some comfort as he sits on the beach. To most, it might look like he’s enjoying a leisurely morning with a beautiful woman. Little do they suspect that he’s working. Across the sand, scattered like little jewels, eggs are slowly beginning to hatch. Hatchlings, oblivious to what occurred mere weeks before, crawl out of the sand and behold before them a world bright, blue, and new.[break][break]
They turn their eyes upon the sheriff and his companion, the first creatures not of their species that they will see in the course of their long lives. A small Greninja, one eyed and burned black, emerges to try and help coax them towards the waters. They’ll be safe in the water. A Palafin is waiting for them there, waiting to guide them out to currents and their own kind.[break][break]
Above them, Wingulls and Pelipper circle. They sense a meal. They, too, little care for what happened here before. Matters of ice that was old when their grandfather’s grandfather was young, sculpted by a precursor people, are so alien as to be inconceivable to them. What they understand, what they know, is that the babies below are food.[break][break]
It warms the sheriff’s heart to know life goes on, even as he sits there and looks up at the birds menacingly. His clothing is a queer sort of fashionable armor, dark blues contrasting with reds, golds, and stark whites where the bones of his hands and feet sit. It affects the image of a resting Garchomp. The sheriff’s sygna suit, when activated, synergizes his soul with the Garchomp lounging in the sand farther up the bank, towards proper green grass and the town beyond.[break][break]
“Thanks for coming here, Ms. Watanabe.” He says the Airi, the aforementioned beautiful woman accompanying him on this venture to protect the babies. “Dewford needs all the help it can get.” His gray eyes turn to the turtles, taking their first curious steps.[break][break]
“Wish they got to come into the world under better circumstances.”

A gentle smile curves against the corners of Airi's full, rosy-pink lips as she watches the adorable sea turtles hatch from the small, iridescent eggs. The warm, golden sunrays shining down against her sun-kiss skin casting a beautiful and ethereal light against her body, high lightening her natural attractive features a bit more. The cool, crisp breeze dancing around her body and causing her long, rich, chocolate brown air to whip around her body like a graceful vortex. Her deep azure eyes shimmering like true sapphires as the brilliant sun reflects off them. She carefully tucks a few strands of her hair behind her ears before slowly smoothing out her ranger uniform. Normally, she would be wearing a stunning bikini on the beach, but she is on the beach for business and not pleasure it would be a bad look for her to be out in such revealing clothing. Luckily, her ranger uniform fits her body just right. The comfortable, yet protective gear accentuating her dangerous hourglass-like curves in a captivating manner.

She is a long way from Rustboro City, but she would not have it any other way. Dewford Town had endured a lot of damage during the most recent event. Although, she was not as active in the event at the time Airi wishes to do whatever she can do to help rebuild the island and restore the residents' spirit. So, when Navy reached out to the Rustboro City Station for assist Airi was one of the first rangers to volunteer her services.

"Please, Sheriff. Airi is fine." She tells her, shifting her attention away from the hatchlings and over to Sheriff Navy. "And you are welcome. I was devastated to learn that Dewford Town had suffer from so much damage. I am grateful to be able to lend a helping hand," she says, her bright, alluring smile curling against the colors of her lightly painted lips and her piercing azure eyes connecting with his orbs for a few seconds. Eventually, her keen eyes shift back towards the turtles and her energetic Mudkip, who seem to be trying to entertain a bit, while also keeping a watchful eye on them, too. Her Shiny Pachirisu hanging from her left shoulder, staring up at the annoying flock of sea gulls.

"As do I." Airi responds to his previous remark. Alas, the two of them finds themselves standing on the beach preparing to serve and protect the sea turtles from any predators, who wishes to cause them any harm. Her deep blue eyes taking a quick glance up at all of the keowing sea gulls flying above them. It likes like the duo will have their work cut out for them.

“Airi.” The word tastes breathy on his tongue as he speaks it into existence. It flows well, better than Watanabe. “Then you can call me Navy. Pretty much everyone does.” Most of the press releases released by the League, per his request, do the same. Navy seems a fitting name for a champion rank trainer, like something out of the old movies that inspired generations of trainers before him. It’s a better name than Michael, he thinks. Only people who aren’t his friends use Michael, he’s observed.[break][break]
“At least they get to say they were born on a pretty day.” The day is the picture of summer, something worthy of being snapped and put on a postcard. Another Navidson, an ancestor he has heard much about, made a career out of being a photographer. There’s some moment, one sixtieth of a second, that could speak more to the lives of these turtles than whole reels of film.[break][break]
“Rustboro’s only a hop and a skip away, I guess.” As is his hometown of Slateport. He won’t say no to help from rangers in other stations. Navy tries as best he can to stay professional, his eyes doing their herculean best not to steal glances at the ranger, though he finds much to admire there. With how perfect her makeup is, how she rocks the uniform like a runway model, he imagines she’ll end up on recruitment posters before too long.[break][break]
“Look alive. They’re making a swoop down.” The first of the Wingull begin their assault, diving down to snatch up babies. Navy inclines his head to Airi, giving away nothing of the cogs turning in his head. “Airi, I’m gonna block ‘em. Have your Pokemon go on the offensive.”[break][break]
It is no Pokemon that uses a move, but Navy himself. Squatting, he pulls in infinity energy from his sync stone. Something of his lounging black dragon becomes a part of him. Navy breathes deep of a dragon’s power, and raises the earth. Stone edge is a technique with much applicability. Navy raises solid stone, sculpting a protective wall above the advancing turtles to block the wingull.[break][break]
“Now!”

Airi smiles and nods her head at Navy's saying her name out loud. He took his time and pronounced it perfectly without any issues at all. "Ai means Love and affection. Ri is pearl and Jasmine," she explains to him, sharing the meaning of her name just in case he was curious to know a little of its origin. "Alright, sir. Navy it is." She responses to his simple request, flashing him with another alluring smile. She finds Navy to be cute and clever play on his surname.

"Hopefully, a pretty and peaceful day," she adds with a small smirk. The two of them still have to make sure that the entire bale makes it to the ocean without any injuries or worst. Despite her striking appearance, Airi is not only a knowledgeable Ranger Nurse, but also a talented trainer, too. Although, she does refer not like to use violence without making an attempt to de-escalate the situation first. However, today is one of those rare occasions where she will be willing to make the opposite approach to ensure the safety of vulnerable hatchlings. Luckily for her, she will also have Navy's support, too. She has heard great stories about him, and she feels confident in his ability to strength to keep everyone safe, too.

"It was not a terrible trip at all." She responses to him, her shimmering ocean blue eyes glancing over to make eye contact with Navy's darker orbs for a few seconds. She wonders if he is a native of Dewford City of if he was born and raised in another city or town within the Hoenn Region. Of course, there is an opportunity that he could be from another region, too. Unfortunately, her question will have to wait for later due to the upcoming attack from above. Her piercing eyes glancing away from Navy, focusing on the Wingull diving towards them. "Perfect. Leave it us." She offers Navy a confident smile as she accepts his suggestion.

Impressive. Airi thinks to herself, watching Navy channel the power from his mysterious suit to perform a powerful Stone Edge to enclose the hatchlings and keep them safe. She has never witnessed anything like this in her entire life. She will have to make a mental note to inquire about his suit later. Right now, it is up to her to take care of the aggressive Wingull. Now that the bale of hatchlings is safe, Airi's Pokémon do not have to risk hurting them in the process. "Chamomile use Discharge!" She calls out, extending her arm out towards the sky. The Shiny Pachirisu lets out a cheerful cry as she climbs her trainer's arm, then leaps high into the air. Beautiful light blue sparks of electricity dances around Chamomile's cheeks before she fires multiple shimmering bolts of electricity form her body at the folk of Wingull.

Wingull, by and large, hunt for easy prey. Sometimes, that takes the form of plant life. Other times, small Pokemon suffice. They swoop, acting on instinct, only to be stopped by solid stone. It halts them as if a mandate from heaven itself has wrought the stone from soft sand. Beaks crack against the stone. Some of them fly up just in time to quark their protest. They see what’s coming and are in no position to do anything about the coming storm.[break][break]
Electricity surges from Chamomile, the energy anathema to all creatures of the sky. It scorches them, gives them a wake-up call as to how hard-fought this meal will be. Wingull are not stupid birds. Their eyes look to Airi’s belt, seeing her other pokeballs and the Garchomp lounging in the sand bank like a lazy father.[break][break]
Like any creature with good sense, they decide to be reasonable. Flicking their wings up, they decide to cut their losses. A few Pelipper, larger and wiser, hover above. They are far more patient predators, willing to wait out the humans.[break][break]
They, too, fall victim to a misdirection. While their eyes are focused on Airi, Chamomile, and Navy, a hidden play has moved across the field. A shadow slips in and out from beneath the stone barrier. A handful of hatchlings are scooped up at a time, ferried across the sand lightning quick, and deposited in the surf. A few of the babies take their first tentative steps into life’s place for them in its circle.[break][break]
“Good taste in Pokemon.” He says with folded arms. “Not my style, but Chamomile and you suit each other. Everyone underestimates small Pokemon until one shocks ‘em” As he eyes the circling birds, his expression softens. “And none of this sir stuff, either.” Soft laughter accompanies the last syllable, a sign that thing are going well.

A pleasing smirk curls against Airi's soft, full lips as she watches Chamomile's raging bolts of electricity make contact with the sea gulls' bodies, slightly charring their snow white and light blue feathers. Airi's and Chamomile's kept their keen eyes focused on their opponents, watching to see if the flock will make another attempt to dive towards the sheltered sea turtles. Surprisingly enough, the Wingull decided to retrieve for the time-being. Perhaps, the Wingull are bit cleverer than Airi expected them to be. Chamomile let out a victory cry as she landed back onto her trainer's left shoulder. Airi gives her Pachirisu a gentle pat on her head as she praises her for her flawless performance.

"Thank you." Airi smiles back at Navy. "Unfortunately, a lot of individuals underestimate the small, cute, or pretty ones. Some of them think or believe that the ones who fit inside those categories are too weak, too prim, or too ditzy to complete any major tasks. I do not mind it though; it adds an element of surprise," she shares with him, a cunning smirk slowly hugging the corners of her lips. She takes great pride in raising and training cute and beautiful Pokémon, helping them to reach their full potential. She, too, has been mistakenly misjudged by others due to her appearance. Overtime, she has learned to use it to her advantage in certain situations. A soft giggle sounded off from her sweet lips when Navy requested her not to use "sir" with him. "Fair enough, Navy." She replies back, then focuses her attention back towards the skies. In due time, their group will have to face off against the pelicans and Airi and her Pokémon will be more than prepared to do so.

"Navy, that is an interesting suit. I have never seen anything like it. What is it call?" She inquires, still keeping her eyes on the traveling sea turtles just in case the folk of aquatic birds starts to feel bold enough to make another move.
