As Yuan introduces himself to you, you turn and give the man a look.

It's the same look you give someone when they cut you in line at the Pokemart. It's the same look you give someone when they leave the coffee pot empty. It's the same look you give to strangers when they try to talk to you on the bus, or the train, or the waiting room for... Whatever the fuck this is. A look of pure, pointed, perfect annoyance.

You're just about to start tutting him (or maybe telling him to fuck off, hard to say), before the doors swing open. Seems like things are finally getting started, huh? So, taking the opportunity to leave this wretched situation, you stand up and walk into the facility.

As for who you'll be training with? Easy. You've already beaten Elisabeth Fiorelli's stupid snail, as dire as that win might've been. So, might as well flex your muscles, spread your wings, see what BARNABY FINCH's Galarian Moltres can do...

So, this is the mighty "Galarian" Moltres. Apparently, it's not actually from Galar, but instead came from some kind of book. That sounds like bullshit, but you believe it.

It certainly looks intimidating. Eye-searing flames waft from pitch-black wings, like hellfire and brimstone made manifest. You were never much of the religious type, but this thing? It's nothing short of blasphemous. If not against Arceus, then certainly against its counterpart from Kanto. Frankly, you've a little jealous. It's not a bad bird, is it? Not bad at all.

But you've already beaten one Moltres. What's one more?

"Alright then. Let's go."

As Poison Gas begins to fill the battlefield, you fling out a Pokeball, sending out your Raging Bolt. Without hesitation, the Paradox Pokemon lets out a Rising Voltage. A pulse of electricity shoots out, before surging up to catch the bird from below.

Oh, great, that weirdo from earlier brought a Joltik to this fight. He brought an insect the size of your fingerprint to fight a giant bird. Does he hate that thing? Is he trying to get it eaten? Oh well. At the very least, it might paralyse the Galarian Moltres as it slides through its digestive system.

Because your attacks? Sure didn't do much. Fuckin' Protect! What a pain in your ass. You'd grit your teeth if you weren't so busy trying not to breath the toxic fumes. Placing a hand over mouth and nose alike, you glance towards your Raging Bolt. Sure enough, it's starting to feel the effects of the poison. Hard not too, given how big of a beast it is and how long of a windpipe it has. You're guessing you've got a minute at most before things start to get really messy here.

But who needs a minute when all it takes is a second? The moment the Galarian Moltres drops its guard is the moment you go in for the kill.

"ANCIENT POWER!"

In that instant, mystic power launches pieces of rock and stone forth from the ground, aiming to clip the wings of the bird before it can so much as flap them again.

...Oh what the hell, no you aren't. You're going to another torture session, and it'll be just as miserable and timewasty as this. Still, at least you'll get to sit down.

Still, though. Galarian Moltres? Not bad.
