he tells himself as he is grumbling on the inside as this was the 4th of these damn training missions he has gone through now. And after this it would only be two more. Some have been harder than others but he can get through them. Show that asshole he wasn't as much of a write off as he thought him to be. [break][break]

For now though, he has to wait for his current partner that he was suppose to be going with and let the two of them decided together as to where they were going to go.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie couldn't help letting out a long sigh at the question presented to them, while sneaking a sidelong glance at the Rocket grunt assigned to her for this particular scenario. She didn't recognize the dashing older man with the mustache, though that didn't mean much. Mostly, it just meant she didn't know his strengths, weaknesses, or preferences at all.

As ever, she hated the cold, clear-cut black-and-white binary of it all. Of all wars in general, and of the wars between Rocket and the League in particular. It all felt like an endless loop of futility, differing only in the level of destruction wreaked on Hoenn.

But Aurelie knew she wasn't ready for war, so she was here to learn. Apparently, now she was learning about deciding how to launch a surprise attack or ambush on the League. Any chance all we have to do is leap out from around a corner and yell 'Boo'? she thought wryly.

Aloud, the redhead declared, "I'm in favor of Mossdeep. It seems like the more valuable target, considering all the equipment and information at the Observatory. A successful attack could gain us both territory and a lot of new knowledge we didn't have before.

"Although I do know an excellent Kalosian restaurant in Mauville, which would clearly be an asset to Rocket all by itself." She smiled faintly at her partner, inviting him to share the small jest, before tilting her head inquisitively at him.

"What do you think? Does going after Mossdeep sound good to you?"

Naturally, you choose Mossdeep. Renowned for its Science Observatory, the city is an intrinsically valuable resource. A deep underwater trench runs between Mossdeep City and Sootopolis, providing a discreet route for travel. [break][break]

Upon reaching the shores with your small group, you hear the rustle of voices near the city center, where the League is once again poisoning the citizens with propaganda. In addition, the observatory stands as a glowing beacon in the distance, undoubtedly filled with invaluable information to uncover. [break][break]

While the young woman seemed to be conflicted about what to do, Wright had just been pondering about how long this would take and what he should make himself for dinner. The ideal solider everyone! So when questioned about which they should do for the warfront Wright just grins back at her. "Yeah sure the first one is good enough for me," he simply repeats but he does give it at least slight thought, "Visiting the Observatory could be fun," though whether or not they would be given the chance to do so was all up to their commander.[break][break]

They travers the underwater trenches easily enough as they come to show and the old man stretches now that they had the room to move about. Not to far from them the League officals seemingly trying to talk to the citizens and he just rolls his eyes before he smirks over to his partner, "Hey how about we take a trip to the observatory? The league spews bullshit like this on the daily, nothing is going to change with one more night"

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]"Good idea," Aurelie agreed, nodding quickly at the man's suggestion. She couldn't help grinning at his amusingly candid assessment of the League's propaganda. "I can't imagine what use it would be to listen, anyway. I really doubt they're going to share any valuable information at a public speech like this."

Lowering her voice slightly, she added, "Besides, hopefully the press conference will be a good distraction. Maybe everyone will be too busy watching it to notice...well, us."

They hurried past the city center, trying to move just fast enough to avoid notice while getting past the crowd of civilians efficiently. Briefly, Aurelie contemplated trying to blend in or do something innocent-looking like whistle carelessly but figured that only worked in the movies. And not even always then.

Thankfully, they managed to make it to the observatory without anyone paying much attention to them. Unfortunately, the employee entrances all required either a passcode or an ID, and the visitor entrances were still being vigilantly monitored by security guards. They prowled around the building, dissatisfied.

Finally, after a few minutes of skulking and tiptoeing around, the two of them came upon an employee entrance that was propped open with a large rock. The reason for it stood about a dozen feet away, with a pack of cigarettes in his hand and a couple butts around his feet. When he bent to reach for his lighter, Aurelie tugged urgently at the other grunt's arm.

"Let's go!" she hissed. "Duck under the security camera hanging from the roof, and...we should be in!

"And then, well, I'm not sure what we're supposed to be looking for in there, but we might as well grab anything that looks interesting, right? Or valuable-looking."

"Exactly!" he muses with excitement as they decided to give their silent middle finger to the League and head over to what would make this fieldtrip actually fun. Wright following close behind his partner in crime as they come to the clearly 'Closed' Observatory, but 'no' hasn't stopped him before so why would it now? [break][break]

He follows along as they almost circle the building for any sort of opening. For now Yuan keeping his look out in the open as he tries to find something before the younger grunt grabs his arm and pulls him along as she seems to have spotted something from the side. When the camera Yuan does bring up a face mask at least as he brings his hood up. He knows he isn't the best criminal but he understands the basics as who knew how many employees were inside. [break][break]

"The question is what is valuable? If this is anything like our labs then there are things with plenty of notes here but its all only part of the equation," he mentions but he does take out his phone to record anything to see if it catches any notes he could make sense of later. Well until the alarms begun to ring and well shit that wasn't good. Though admittedly an article by the League's Head Scienist admittedly catches his eye. Like Deedee said, what was wrong with grabbing one thing before going? [break][break]

He would attempt to nab it before trying to follow the others toward the exit.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Once they were inside the observatory, Aurelie was relieved to see that the hallways and facilities inside seemed fairly quiet, with only a few people walking around or working. A few sidelong glances reassured her that none of the observatory employees were looking particularly closely at them, let alone asking questions or being suspicious. It was nice not having to skulk around looking over her shoulder.

When the other grunt asked what she thought would be valuable, she was startled when he then went on to suggest he was well-acquainted with Rocket's labs. Shouldn't he be the expert of what is or isn't valuable in a lab, not me? she wondered. And why is he only focused on notes?

Aloud, though, Aurelie merely answered, keeping her voice low, "Maybe anything that we don't have ourselves would count as valuable? And not just notes, but equipment, hard drives, or samples? That's my guess, anyway."

Then, the alarms blared, making her clap her hands over her ears. "What? Damn it! How did they react so quickly? Well, I guess we better get out of here."

When he made a move to swipe a manuscript written by one of the League's head professors, though, the redhead nodded approvingly. "Nice find! Hopefully, that'll contain a lot of new information we don't already have!

"Now, come on! We should get out of here." She had darted toward the door and was holding it open for everyone rushing out. She gestured urgently to Yuan, beckoning him to hurry before anyone came in and caught them red-handed.

You're human. You're lured by the temptation. As you reach for the papers, attempting them to stuff them into your bag, you freeze the moment your fingers touch the edges. Not due to supernatural means, but the terrifying realization that you've been caught. [break][break]

"What—" [break][break]

The door bursts open. [break][break]

"Hey! What are you doing there? You're not supposed to be here!" [break][break]

Like a deer in headlights, you freeze. You're face-to-face with the League's Head Scientist. More important than that, the Alchemist. [break][break]

Pink energy emanates suddenly around her, a portal opening beside you to snatch the article before you can grasp it. With her other hand, she gestures, causing the ground beneath you to tremble. Fear grips you as the space around begins to warp. [break][break]

The world shifts and tilts on its axis. Paralyzed by her furious pink gaze, you almost scream as you anticipate being torn apart. [break][break]

However before she can do too much damage, several Unown materialize. In a blink, you're whisked out of existence and into the safety of Rocket's foyer. The brush with death leaves you blinking gratefully at Naomi Sato. [break][break]

"Honestly," she says with a sigh, eyes wide with relief. "What were you thinking?" [break][break]

"You're lucky I was there to save you!"

"The problem is that some of these notes are only part of an equation that is clearly far bigger but nothing connects with one another, the equipment is too big, and who knows whats within the drives," he would comment back at his partner. Giving his reasoning as to why he was difficult to see what was the best thing to grab before it was finally done as he went for the notes after the alarmed rung. And even more so as he had tried to grab for the paper the League's Head Scientist was there to catch him in the act. Thank god for the mask, but that was it.[break][break]

Especially as the world around begins to feel as if it were twisting and turning as it was pulling itself part. Pulling him apart and there was nothing he could do about it. Least he was teleported out and he finds himself on his back on the ground, eyes wide and just blinking because how the fuck did he get back here? [break][break]

@naomi's voice hits him and he just blinks up at her before he chuckles amused, "Just thought about havin' fun is all," he jokes to the other as he gets himself up and looks around, seeing if his partner Aurelie Lefevre had also been transported.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]The horror of confronting an angry Alchemist who possessed the power to manipulate the very fabric of physical space froze Aurelie with horror. She had been fortunate to have been far away from Illeana Reyes at the Silent Icelands, when the latter was chosen as an avatar, and at the Megalopolan prison, where she'd fired spatial energy blasts and opened spatial rifts everywhere.

In this scenario, at this moment, Aurelie definitely didn't have the luxury of a safe distance. All she could do was writhe and cry out in panic.

But then, to her immense relief, the Unown appeared in her line of sight. Having experienced some of their powers before—albeit mostly their power to transform reality—and recognizing the one Unown that always seemed to hover around Nomi she knew they were saved. She could've cried with relief.

One bone-jarring teleportation through the Unown dimension and possibly a black hole later, Aurelie unashamedly reached out and hugged the simulated version of Nomi in pure gratitude.

"Nomi! I mean, Dr. Sato! Thank Arceus! And thank you for getting us out of there," she gasped, still visibly shaking a little from the encounter. She couldn't even laugh or joke the way her fellow Rocket did over the entire experience, as if it hadn't really scared him at all.

Of course, it was all a simulation, so that probably helped for him. Still, it'd been enough to make Aurelie dread ever fighting against Illeana Reyes in the real world. Even if it wasn't real now, she could imagine it becoming all too real in the near future.

"I guess next time, we should just cut our losses and run," she mused to her companion. "Assuming something like that ever comes up, of course. But...it's so hard to say no to stealing some valuable new knowledge..."
