These hotspots of dynergy have been created eras ago. It has been hypothesized that Eternatus' visitations to this land have caused them to form—or perhaps, its mere presence in space. Other theories include meteoroid impacts containing dynergy, other extraterrestrial Pokemon, and more.[break][break]

Around you, Poison Tera Crystals, minerals imbued with Dynamax Energy, and more exist for you to mine, harvest, and gather. However, more exists below each power spot. In fact, it is possible to leap into these power spots into dark labyrinthe caves below.[break][break]

With continued expeditions into the known power spots of the region, Yuina only garnered more and more questions with each leap she made into the depths. Dynergy and the dynamax phenomena was an anomaly above all others, something potent, dangerous, and had proved to be such time and time again, especially with the emergence of the titans of the desert.[break]
"Who is actually studying dynergy and the power spots? Do we know anything more than we did a few months ago when they started to pop up," Yuina wondered, asking Navy if he knew anything more than she did. The longer she spent working around the power spots, the more skeptical she became of the phenomena, surely it couldn't be good for the region long term.

“Think it’s Eva Morales.” Months ago, Dr. Morales and Navy discussed the topic in depth beneath the Great Crater. “But there’s a lot going on.” Which he knows is a poor answer as soon as he speaks the words. Just standing near the power spot, so close to the raw power of the Skeleton Gigantic, fries his nerves. He says a quiet prayer of thanks for the boon born of his sword oath and Yuina’s sygna suit. How normal folk manage this journey or the one into Eternatus’s core, he’ll never know.[break][break]
“What we know is that they come from Eternatus. The more we use ‘em, the more pop up. These ones, the real ones, not made by humans, can kill your Pokemon if they dynamax and you don’t have a band.” He repeats the facts for himself, looking down into the abyss below. “I’ll tell you this: I don’t understand why they can’t move, and I’m thankful as heck they can’t. When I was in Galar, they could.”[break][break]
“You ever met Baki? My kid? She researched it for twenty years when we were in Galar, and she can’t remember a thing about it.” He exhales sharply in frustration, kneeling down and looking below. “Let’s get goin’. These folks aren’t gonna rescue themselves, and that ore ain’t gonna come up on its own.” And with those words, he throws down a sword and rides it down like a surfer on a wave.

You may encounter a paranoid Pierce Creighton, one of Hoenn's Scientists, exploring the caves too. Should you approach him, he does not let you come close. The keenest eye may scry blood splatter on his shoes. Despite his haggard appearance, he bestows supplies should you require them. Otherwise, encounter poor bystanders trapped here, like backpackers or even a feral Megalopolan.[break][break]

Yuina was quick to follow, as Navy swept down into the depths on his blade, she took to Omura's back. The ceratops leaped down from ledge to ledge on his great paws as they ventured to the bottom of the power spot, and she had thought over Navy's words as they made their descent.[break][break]
"That's... Unfortunate, that she can't remember, I guess that means it's all the more important to try and learn what we can now," Yuina returned, perhaps a bit more bitter and sullen than she intended. She too knew what it was like to lose twenty years or so of herself, even though she had nothing to do with Galar.[break][break]
"I've been working on some queries in regards to the power spots as they've become more prominent... Like wondering why tera crystals seem to emerge around them, but only poison type crystals. The energy signatures are different, but they're synonymous it seems. And I've wondered if the dynergy is toxic to the terastal energy, turning them into poison crystals," she offered, one of the many, many issues that she had noted while studying the power spots. She didn't have any answers for her queries, but she wanted to keep looking into it all.

“Think the poison crystals are ‘cause of Eternatus.” He offers. “They’re all over His heart chamber, down at the bottom of the Ultra Deep Sea.” Just thinking about that massive room curdles his blood. It was there he lost many of his Pokemon to Groudon, and there where Regice began its rampage.[break][break]
“Other than that, I dunno what to tell you.” Navy says the words apologetically, almost like he’s ashamed that he can’t offer her anything concrete. “Lots of folk say that tera energy’s bad news, but it’s hard for me to agree. It’s pulled my butt out of a fire more than once.” Ascalon sits at his side in a scabbard. Were it not for the infinite possibility reflected in crystalline light, it would have never been reforged.[break][break]
“I’m glad you’re on the case, Yuina. Most people are too busy fighting to ask the right questions.” A cynical laugh accompanies his words. As the Warrior, his life has and always will be defined by conflict. “And one of these ticking time bombs Hoenn’s sitting on is gonna blow sooner or later.”

However, the human mind is more fragile. Able to touch upon horrid thoughts of the abstract, mortal cognition brings your trainers closer to madness.[break][break]

Even here, TERA CRYSTALS are present. Like a virus, they've spread across the underground. Due to the concentrated dynergy in this place, encounter hallucinations—or hallucinations that become temporarily real by TERA CRYSTALS.[break][break]

And/or encounter a DYNAMAXED/GIGANTAMAXED POKEMON WITH A DYNAMAX SHIELD that must be downed. Regardless, the Pokemon will perish after its transformation. Investigating its carcass will reveal that it has somehow incorporated Dynite Ore onto its body. Though it is no Regi-titan, one may make macabre parallels.[break][break]

If anything, Yuina was certain there were negative and positive opinions about anything that was taking place in Hoenn, the things that weren't supposed to be within the borders but had arrived anyway. Even things like Mega Evolution and Z crystals weren't actually supposed to be a part of the natural order of things... As she was learning.[break][break]
"If utilized correctly, or, I guess as safely and controlled as possible, I'm sure even something as unpredictable as interdream mist could be understood... But I'm sure studying these things is already so difficult," Yuina returned, and Navy had his points. Someone needed to ask the questions first, but even if she did ask the questions, she didn't know where to take them. She wasn't particuarly well involved with the 'head scientists' of the region.[break][break]
"Every time I come to one of these power spots, I only come up with more questions. Not sure if I'm really of much help, but I guess it's better than nothing," Yuina returned. Better than fighting for nothing, fighting an endless war, trying to discern information that was affecting Hoenn as a whole, and as always, keeping herself occupied. She hated so much to be left alone to herself nowadays.[break][break]
Moving through the caverns, the tunnels began to expand, and with purpose as the ground beneath their feet shook and trembled, dust showering down from the highest reaches of the walls around them. Omura rumbled with a low growl on open maw, fur growing hot at the idea of what was to come...[break][break]
"Oh great...," Yuina breathed, recognizing the threat for what it was as an impossibly gargantuan Zangoose rounded the cavern's edge.[break]
"Omura go," Yuina urged, and the ceratops roared as he lunged forward with his crest, striking with a heavy Dragon Rush.

“There’s nothing wrong with asking questions, or coming away with more questions. No such thing as a bad question in my book.” Which is where matters sit when a gargantuan Zangoose intrudes upon them. Navy’s hands move at once. In one, a pokeball. In the other, a conjured gun from another world. Where others forget, he remembers. He is cursed with memory, and all the experience those memories convey.[break][break]
“Ballbreaker.” He throws out his Great Tusk, massive even for one of their kind. It surveys all of them: man, woman, dragon, giant. Finally, the great mammoth’s eyes settle on that which is right in front of him. A sharp whistle keeps him from attacking.[break][break]
“Make the sun shine.” He commands the Great Tusk, who opens its mouth and sends up its very own sun. A sunny day blazes above them in the deep. It casts the Zangoose in stark light, orange against magenta. Both Ballbreaker and Omura’s protosynthesis activate. Their foe does not have the luxury of this power.[break][break]
“Looks like you’ve been keeping up with your training. There’s not many people who can keep a paradox pokemon under control, much less one like that.” The words pass the time while he levels up a shot. The Zangoose raises its fist, ready to unleash a max knuckle upon them. Gunfire rings out, signaling Navy’s anchor shot. Chains wrap around Zangoose, binding it in place.[break][break]
“Go, go!” He implores all of them, as much an excited watcher as he is a participant.

Familiar with the mammoth that Navy sent forward, a formidable foe and even more formidable ally, Yuina felt the warmth of the Sunny Day wash over them as it too empowered Omura. The ceratops glowered, rushing forward with the imbued strength, ready to strike the gargantuan Zangoose as it lumbered towards them with a heavy claw.[break][break]
"No, no such thing as control for a species like Omura," Yuina contested, watching the chains that Navy fired from a weapon she wasn't sure she saw him carrying before... But it did work to bind the Zangoose as the normal type screeched, the sound shaking the walls of the cavern. It was enough of an opening though for the ceratops to avoid the intended strike, one that would have been devastating, and lunge forward right into the torso of their opposition with a Dragon Rush.[break][break]
"We can reach a mutual understanding, and I let him know that I respect his power. He still has all of the will and agency to do whatever he might, and I think that allows respect to go both ways," Yuina remarked, she'd spent much time working with and learning about the strange and unusually powerful species that were paradoxes. They weren't unlike Alpha Pokémon in a way... And that she was intimately familiar with.[break][break]
Omura landed a heavy hit against the Zangoose, and it wavered on its legs, its weight causing quakes in the ground as it stumbled, but they would be hard pressed if they expected just a hit from Omura and Ballbreaker each to take down something engulfed by Dynergy. So long as there was a Sunny Day in play, Yuina drew out another Pokeball, they should need something long range that could keep close to them, just in case...[break][break]
Furien's giant figure emerged, looming over them as the sauropod bristled with electricity. Taking in the energy of sunlight, his cloud rumbled and crackled with electricity, shooting off a Zap Cannon in an attempt to stall the dynamaxed Zangoose that much more. And to combat the Max Strike that it was preparing as the Zangoose snarled and hissed, seething now at its opposers.

It just wouldn’t do for him to slack off, especially if Yuina’s bringing her best to bear. As the Zangoose’s barrier breaks more and more and more under the weight of her attacks, he throws out another Pokemon to accompany Ballbreaker. Smaug is named after a dragon of fantasy. Scientists call him Roaring Moon. As his wings flare out into a crest over the sunlight, he affects the image of a moon eclipsing the sun. He, too, is empowered.[break][break]
“You’re doin’ real good, Yuina. Who knows, people might start sayin’ you could be an Elite Four chairholder.” It’s her character that really marks her for the spot, he thinks. Those words go unsaid. They’re strange things to say to a person you know only from training and reputation. Instead, he points a hand and orders a charge.[break][break]
“Smaug! Ballbreaker! Get to it! Charge” Ballbreaker sees red and ceases to be a mammoth. He’s more of a wrecking ball, charging their foe in a headlong rush while its strike shatters across all of them. Smaug flies high, claws keen in the sunlight. He slashes across the barrier, his breaking swipe aimed for the eyes.[break][break]
“Don’t think it can stand much more of this!”

Bit by bit, between Omura's sheer power in his head on assaults and Furien's fierce long range strikes, alongside Navy's two paradox Pokémon, the barrier was beginning to break. The incredible, immense amount of power that went behind a dynamax barrier was never anything less than terribly awesome, in the most imposing way. It was still by sheer miracle she felt that they had all been able to break down the barriers that shielded the three Pokémon that maintained their imprisonment those weeks ago.[break][break]
"He's not killing me, but I can't expect him to ever not to. He has that capability, and if I ever forget that, or make light of that, that's a disrespect to him," Yuina returned, agreeing with Navy, but to a point. It was very much along the same lines of working in a more dangerous profession, not unlike an officer. Should an officer ever expect to not get shot or worse on the job? The moment they grow complacent, is when the worst could happen.[break][break]
The battle was over, the dynergy broke, and the cavern grew still and quiet after the waves of energy began to subside, filling the tunnels with that red haze. Omura glowered with an open maw, fur still hot and seething with the energy of the sun around them, ensuring that their adversary had been bested.[break]
Yuina chanced a glance at Navy, she heard his words, she just... Didn't know how to respond. Too many of her friends and allies were beginning to say the same things, that she had what it took to challenge the circuit, she was invited, earnestly to take the climb, make a name for herself... But she was still just a shadow, a shadow of a former self that she still didn't know, and was beginning to hide from. Shadows shouldn't have a mark to make, she couldn't be a public face marred by darkness and presenting an empty shell to the outside world. The less the greater part of Hoenn knew of Yuina Higashi the better...[break][break]
"Do me a favor Navy," Yuina returned after a moment, a cough through the dust and dirt of the tunnel. She only chose to speak this way because she and Navy had reached an understanding at their very first meeting. He was going to tell her straight, and that meant she could tell him straight too... Even if it might not be what he could expect to hear.[break][break]
"Don't encourage anyone who might say that... I don't think I'm cut out for something like that."
