On the coast or cliffsides of the island city, he encounters Yuina Higashi, who struggles with her position in the grand scheme of the faction war. Wishing to bulldoze his way to Mossdeep Space Center, former Xerneas avatar clashes with Celebi's mortal companion...[break][break]

As the war begins, the clock continues to tick... whether the two like it or not.

Her thumb and forefinger rubbed the soft silk of a sunflower yellow ribbon in her pocket, not idly, but intently. Yuina kept it close, always, a small comfort amidst the growing uncertainties that surrounded her. Her eyes cast out to the sea in the near distance, tumultuous waves backdropped by seething black storm clouds. A perfect storm, she thought, just like the one that she felt within herself day in and day out.[break]
A perfect storm, she thought too, just like the war, just like the conflict that was building to a crescendo just as the thunder rumbling in the distance. The league the powerful sea, unyielding and unwilling to back down from the surge of the wind and clouds above, rocket, marring the sun and keeping everything shrouded in darkness. Together, both forces too created the perfect storm, and the wake of destruction that would be left in the path? Was it worth it? Or was the thunder too loud and the lightning too bright for anyone to see what they were truly doing?[break][break]
And there she was, amidst the waves, awash in rain, blinded by lightning and deafened by thunder, struggling to tread the treacherous waters that those above her created. All she had to do was swim, keep her head above water, rise to the occasion and... Become one of them? Or sit by passively while she sinned by silence against those who were putting their lives on the line? Against her friends?[break][break]
Even in her deprecation, however, there she was, on assignment because she drew in expectations and accolades in spite of her world growing more gray around her everyday. She stood, at the mercy of what may come, ready as... Would she ever be?[break]
Lumei sniffed the air around them as Yuina took a stern look at their surroundings, again making sure thus far that their perimeter hadn't been breeched. She was sure that couldn't last for long, she knew that rockets had already made landfall to the west of the island, it would only be a matter of time before more forces may come in from the surrounding sea.[break][break]
Yuina adjusted the seamitar hilted at her waist, one half of a pair. The other was tucked away, hidden within her shadow, ready and waiting for what may come. She turned and started in another direction, looking to keep her section clear, but the longer she remained in her solace, the longer she was left alone with herself... The more she felt like she could feel that ticking all over again.[break][break]
Yuina bristled, the hairs on her arms standing on end even as she tried to force the feeling away, but it was as innate and intimate a feeling to her now as the smooth silk of her sunflower yellow ribbon. Time was... reaching a critical point, as if the beginning of this war was a mark, a stain, that could never be changed.

Another day, another war.[break][break]

He was broken down by rocket and rebuilt to be a weapon pointed at the enemy. A weapon meant to keep those who would dissent against them in line. That was what a beast was, one who instilled fear into others. It was time to verify that fear, Zev Harcourt was giving him the opportunity to prove that his fangs had not dulled in the absence of Xerneas. [break][break]

He rode on his gyarados onto the shore near Yuina Higashi. However he hadn't spotted her at first, he cocks the pistol in his hand and looked at it. It felt so weird having to rely on one another, he was a sure shot but he hadn't fired a gun in so long. After all, what was deadlier? A bullet or a boulder? Well he could still throw boulders but..[break][break]
he couldn't heal like he could before. [break][break]

"Gyarados. Dragon dance and prepare to strike quickly if someone pops-" he says as he realizes someone is nearby. but he hadn't seen her just yet "Come out unless you want me to destroy this whole area in one swing." he warns as he wasn't above destroyign the land. He knew how to restore it even without xerneas's help.

Starting off in the other direction, moving down the coastline, Yuina felt a shift in attention around her, the small sprite that was watching in wait. His senses were beyond any others, his abilities of perception were something Yuina had come to understand to be impeccable. Due to his shift, she stopped, and heard the sounds of of waves crashing closer against the shoreline at the figure of a Gyarados moving towards them.[break][break]
The initial panic, the first notion of being perceived took over first, Yuina moved with Lumei towards a cluster of rocks as the serpent made landfall, bearing a human, a trainer, on its back. Yuina remained still, silent, watching... Assess the situation first... And her blood ran cold at the cold steel shape he held in his hand.[break]
Before she could begin to forumlate a plan, a response, her perimeter had been breached and she was faced with the threat, he called out uncermoniously to her precense and she bristled... She'd run out of time.[break][break]
Whatever threat he made, she had to assume he could follow through, and it was likely in part of the Gyarados that lay in wait... No... He was an avatar... she remembered his face from a briefing on their known enemies...[break][break]
Yuina emerged from the rock cluster she stood within, keeping Lumei close and her shadow closer, unsure and uncertain of how she was supposed to fend for herself, alone... Was that ticking feeling leading up to something else?[break]
"You're just going to destroy this place anyway, that's why you're here, isn't it," she returned, making herself known, and sealing her fate.

Bryan frowns when he sees the girl appear. He didn't recognize her face, she wasn't one of the league's big shots, he knew them all by name. MATIAS SILPH, Eva Morales, PENELOPE LIVY. That's who he was looking for here, not this random girl. [break][break]

"Depending on what you do in response to our presence here. Sootopolis still stands, does it not?" he responds as his gyarados roars in her direction in response. "Or I can destroy everything around here AND THEN kill you. Wouldn't be a first for me." he warns her, if she stood in his way he would respond. [break][break]

He has a flashback to the fire he set off in littleroot when Soleil had died and he went mad with xerneas's power. He sighs, there was no point in trying to negotiate with a leaguer. "Decidueye. triple arrow." he orders as he sends out a pokeball and the pokemon dashes directly towards YUINA and fires three arrows at the trainer.

Thinking as fast as she could, shaken, distraught, Yuina tried to remember what was known of the man that stood before her. Like sorting through her recollections of the many historical texts she maintained, flipping pages, remembering words... His profile was typically aggressive, wrecklessly so... She tried to remember the Pokemon that was tied to him... What was it?[break][break]
His words caught her in her thoughts though, the roar of the Gyarados demanding her attention. Lumei bristled, bearing his fangs, he was being very direct, very clear in his threat. He did mean to kill her.[break][break]
"You're just as dissillusioned as everyone else. What good is destroying everything if you mean to take it? What is any of this for," Yuina returned, almost a bit disappointed. He was just like everyone else she had encountered thus far, league and rocket. Near sighted, one goal in mind, uncaring of the consequences that followed, so long as their single mission was completed...[break][break]
Still... her own fear, her own spiral of not wanting to succumb to the conflict as so many around her had, to feed into the loathing and bloodlust for nothing other than gain... She didn't move to strike, she couldn't... but she didn't have to wait. He moved to strike first.[break][break]
A Decidueye emerged and rushed forward, was it fortunate that she knew her enemy? Fortunate that she could fight in this moment? Would that just escalate the issue at hand?[break]
Yuina was innately familiar with the fighting type, their speed, their dexterity, and she was quick to draw up the seamitar hilted at her waist, deep indigo and stripped with red. She became alight with infinity energy, feeding into the sync stone of her sygna suit, and as she raised the blade to match the arrows thrust at her, she held firm and moved to strike in time with Sacred Sword.

She pulls out her weapons and activates her sygnasuit to repel his decidueye, the pokemon tries to rush back but the decidueye is still hit by the SACRED SWORD. [break][break]

He sucks on his teeth, he didn't have one. "Hyper beam." he orders as suddenly gyarados immediately fires a rail cannon beam at Yuina as this girl was a thread with that damn suit and sync stone. When gyarados fires the hyper beam, it drags the beam wide to destroy as much land as possible in that moment. "If we break it down we can build it up better. Just like Kanto."

Holding firm, seamitar gripped tightly in her hands, Yuina struck back through the barrage of Tripple Arrows and managed a strike against the DECIDUEYE as it lunged forward. The fighting type made contact, and she pushed back with Sacred Sword, dealing her first blow, and sealing her choice. She was in this fight now, she'd made her stance clear. She couldn't back down, no matter how much she wanted the fighting to stop, to wonder what it was all for. Nothing was worth being at each other's throats like this, not when there were more things that were a threat than just each other. He wasn't going to back down though, and doubled down on his stance.[break][break]
"Sides are pointless. This war, is pointless. There are bigger things at play and all any of you care about is what's in front of you. You're near sighted, you're going to kill each other and leave the rest of Hoenn defenseless," Yuina returned, bearing her seamitar still. Where she hadn't denounced her stance as being 'with the league', she didn't out right say she opposed rocket. This fight, any fight, should be for those who couldn't fight for themselves. And neither side was right to put those people in danger. If nothing else though, Yuina realized that this was first a fight for her own life...[break][break]
The Hyper Beam rang true, as perilous and destructive as he meant it to be, gouging into the rocky side of the island with intense fervor. Lumei used Dig to get away from the blast, where Daikenki came up from Yuina's shadow and used Shadow Sneak to take them both away...[break]
She was stuck, more than she had ever been. She was given orders, to defend the southern portion of the island and maintain a perimeter. If she continued to fight, would she lose her life? And if she didn't, would she lose her life anyway? If she abandoned her post, would that brand her a traitor? Unfit to try and keep her stakes in the fight to try and dissuade any that she could?[break][break]
She figured first that she couldn't very well make a decision if she ended up getting killed anyway...[break][break]
Lumei came up from the ground as the dust began to settle, as the Hyper Beam ebbed away, and took to the DECIDUEYE. He charged, fur alight and bright, with a Fire Fang to take on the owl.[break]
Yuina rose from the darkness of shadow with Daikenki beside her, facing out towards him and the GYARADOS. She bore her blade still, and Daikenki hissed on open maw.[break][break]
"Sides are pointless. But I'm not going to give you my life," Yuina iterated, and at her whim, in a small shift of space beside her, the sprite CELEBI emerged. Daikenki rushed forward and with his blade slashed water at the serpent dragon to Soak its scales. The forest prince trilled, eyes alight with energy, the nature of the earth, and raising his arms summoned a barrage of ensnaring thorned vines, looking to grapple and take hold of the GYARADOS with Grass Knot.

"Oh yeah? Sides are pointless? Say that to those who suffered under the league's rule. Say that to those who were outcasted and forgotten because the league wouldn't help the little guy in moments of need." he yells at her, she had hit a nerve. [break][break]

"That kind of thinking is EXACTLY why rocket thrives. The ignorance of the blessed, calling us near sighted, pointless fighting? You think anyone willingly enjoys this?! My sister DIED because I couldn't give her the help I wanted to give her due the league's ignorance to my situation. You telling me that's POINTLESS?! She died for NOTHING?!" he yells at her as he spits in her direction.[break][break]

The hisuian decidueye is struck by the FIRE FANG, the decidueye screams in pain as it's feathers are seared. It uses it's free hand however to pluck one of it's feathers and create a LEAF BLADE and strike at the flareon due to the close distance. The gyarados is left wide open as the HYPER BEAM ate up all of the pokemon's stamina in that moment leaving it wide pen for the SOAK and GRASS KNOT combination attack to whittle down it's health and restrain the creature as it cried out in pain. Bryan's eyes filled with rage as he was about to show her even further why he was known as the vicious BEAST of rocket.[break][break]

He sends out one of his star pokemon. His shadow Kommo-o. "Kommo-o show her how POINTLESS this all is! "Clangorous soul! Power whip!" he orders as the pokemon sacrifices a massive portion of it's health and boosts ALL OF IT'S STATS AND IT'S SHADOW ABILITY ACTIVATES. [break][break]

Casts INGRAIN in a pinch! The user will now have access to POWER WHIP and VINE WHIP until they are knocked out or returned.

The INGRAIN casts over Kommo-o's body and bundles the vines on it's body into a POWER WHIP ATTACK to destroy the ground between it and Daikenki.

"Do not talk to me like I don't know. You're not special, my life has been put on the line due their carelessness, to the 'need to know' nature of how they treat things," Yuina seethed. He was going to play the victim? He was going to try to tell her what she already knew? She hated when someone assumed they knew who she was, what she stood for, and what decisions she was capable of making.[break][break]
"But none of that matters, right? No one else's plight except for your own is what matters? You, like all of them, are so consumed by evening out the scales, taking a life for a life. But all of that murder? All of the blood shed? It's never going to tip the scales, it's only going to keep them even," she had seen it, the bloodlust, on both sides, the want to take a life for a life, to take a price marked by an action. An eye for an eye and all of that, it was true, and she watched it first hand every time conflict came about. All anyone seemed to care about was enacting their own vengeance, taking what they believed they were rightfully owed. It was selfish, careless, and exactly what was keeping the war in play.[break][break]
"Even now, you've made your stance clear. This fight? You started it because you have to feed into the weight of your scale. You've threatened my life, you mean to kill me, but I'm not goin to just let you do that," she returned. This was a fight of his own making, she wouldn't have had to fight back if he hadn't threatened to kill her, threatened to destroy everything around them.[break][break]
She wondered, if any of those who wore their selfishness on their sleeve with pride cared that when they all died at the price of a life for a life, that anything they fought they were fighting for would come to an end with each greater threat that was out there?[break][break]
Yuina watched her Pokémon strike, Lumei set the DECIDUEYE aflame and Daikenki and Celebi worked to subdue the GYARADOS as it seethed in the waters ensnared by thorns and vines. There was a moment that she felt... confident... bold even, in taking a stand, in making her words clear. She had fought before, and fought to defend herself, but this was perhaps the first time that she felt she was fighting for herself, so that she had the agency to decide how things went on from this point. She was afraid of so many other things, she was her own worst enemy, her own greatest fear... Who could be more threatening to her, than herself?[break][break]
Lumei snarled and bit back smoke in his jowls as the owl struck with Leaf Blade, but was quick to release the embers that rose into his throat in a Will-O-Wisp to scorch the bird. The Flareon glowered with bared fangs before Digging into the ground, looking to get his next vantage point on his adversary.[break]
The ground shook and trembled, and gave way to the furious power of Power Whip that broke up the very earth. Rocks and boulders, dust and debris showered in every direction as the vines lashed out, but in Yuina's assertion, Daikenki too felt himself empowered, even as rocks struck him as he looked to move forward through the newly destroyed terrain. Using the dust and debris as a cover, Daikenki rushed through the explosion, slicing his seamitar against rocks as he went with a Swords Dance before finally emerging to face the GYARADOS ensnared with vines. Daikenki hissed with an open maw as he lunged for the serpent, a Ceaseless Edge poised with his seamitar.[break][break]
Keeping closest to Yuina, her new found ally, Celebi's eyes glowed with energy as the sprite felt the dark energy of the Shadow KOMMO-O. Amidst the quaking ground and destruction, the sprite found the dragon's figure and released the energy of a Dazzling Gleam to strike.

Hatred seeps into his mind as he let's jayden cross's corruption to fill his mind again. It fueled him, it pushed him forward, when his mind was weakened by grief of losing the glory that was the title of life bringer. Ruin, filled it's place instead. [break][break]

Bryan growls as some of the debris from the boulders he had created rolled towards him. His gyarados smirked as it felt a surge of energy fill it's body and a gleaming could be heard from behind the boulder. "Gyarados. EVOLVE." he orders as the boulder is smashed by bryan's punch into pieces with nothing but his sheer physical strength. Now that she could see him again she'd realize that his mega keystone was right on his earring cuff.[break][break]

Gyarados' body starts to transform with light as it MEGA EVOLVES just before the samurott lands it's attack and shards of the sword embed themselves on gyarado's scales, piercing it's armor and causing blood to drip into the ocean. "Crunch." he orders as the gyarados rips up the thorny GRASS KNOT that previously held it back and attempts to bite down on the hisuian samurott. [break][break]

Meanwhile the decidueye's body is burned as it starts to grow weak, how nice it would have been to be able to fully heal his pokemon right now.[break][break]

Decidueye jumps into the air using GUST to lift himself up and fires an AURA SPHERE at Celebi as bryan recognized that pokemon as a threat to this battle despite the fact he did not recognize it. At the same time Bryan picks up one of the sharp rocks and tosses it in his hand a few times before launching a rock spear directly at Yuina attempting to skewer the woman.

Coughing through the settling dust, keeping her feet rooted and her stance clear as Celebi worked to knock back the Kommo-o, Yuina watched on as her assailant came back into view. She watched as he punched through the solid surface of a boulder with his own hands, and she was reminded then of who she was facing. Someone touched by the gods of this world...[break][break]
Rushing towards the Gyarados, Daikenki hissed as he lunged forward with his seamitar bared, but the serpent radiated an immense energy, taking on a mega evolution. The Samurott was caught in the jaws of the impossibly large Gyarados as its Crunch bore down on him. And Yuina burned.[break]
Lumei came up from the ground out of his dig and in seeing the Flareon Yuina tapped at the orb she held at her belt. The Flareon was consumed by a brilliant, glittering light, taking on a Normal Tera form.[break][break]
"Lumei, go," Yuina urged. The Flareon barked, releasing another bout of burning flames, but instead of firing the Will O Wisp, he stepped into the embers as flame and smoke licked up his fur. He grimmaced, but only for a moment as he was empowered and invigorated by his own flame. In a burst of energy the Flareon rushed through and over the ruined landscape, darting across the ground, and came straight towards the Gyarados that had Daikenki in its jaws. Using all of his might, he lunged forward to strike with Facade to combat the mighty beast.[break][break]
Faced with the Decidueye, Celebi flitted through the air and took the blow of Aura Sphere as it was thrust at him, but the sprite trilled in protest. His eyes became alight again with psychic energy, and taking the owl into his sights he used Psychic to thrust the bird back and into the ground.[break][break]
No sooner had Yuina sent Lumei off in his tera state and Celebi made the quick switch for opponents, Yuina only barely turned to face her own opponent before she caught sight of the rock that was already sailing through the air towards her. Her hands gripped the seamitar she held, but she wasn't going to be quick enough, she felt her blood run cold, the panic, it was coming straight for her, but in the quickest moment she bristled... She felt that intimately familiar feeling, and almost wondered if the toxic chain was still around her throat.[break][break]
Time blinked in the moment that Yuina was faced with the rock rushing towards her in the air as she felt that connection with Celebi as she had on the ship. She time skipped only a couple of seconds backwards, to the point that he still had the rock in his hands... And then as time caught up again she found herself understanding what had just happened... Yuina was able to raise her seamitar and brace, meeting the rock as time caught back up and snapped back to the original point, using Sacred Sword to brace for impact and strike against the rock in an attempt to break it.[break][break]
"Wha... What? What did I do...," Yuina murmered, looking down and around herself, skin prickled and hair standing on end. She... Why could she still do that?

Just at it had seemed that victory had been secured for Bryan, something bizzare happens. He watches as he throws the spear a second time, right? What a strange sense of deja vu, the spear however this time was sliced in two with her weapon. [break][break]

He grows annoyed, why did he get the urge that was not what happen originally? He pays it no mind before deciding he needed to get in closer and destroy the girl's sword. [break][break]

He ignores his pokemon, allowing them to fight in the background while he throws the spear and then rushes towards the girl afterwards and leaps into the air pulling back a punch ready to hit her.

Yuina was panicked, she felt her chest tighten, her breathing restrained, she could swear she was still wearing the toxic chain then... Her skin bristled, she was teeming with an energy that she could have sworn left her, but one that felt so, so familiar. It was in the woods when she nearly got attacked by the Grafaiai, it was in the forest when she encountered the sprite for the first time with its own toxic chain. It was that ticking feeling that never truly left her, that passage of time becoming more keen, more sensitive to her... But why? What was it for, why could she do that? Or was it even really her at all?[break][break]
Celebi was still in battle, fighting with the Decidueye, it's attention was marred... No, it couldn't... Yuina began to spiral, she couldn't make herself think straight, she was loosing focus of everything at hand, until she heard the sound of beating stomps running towards her. She looked up, stricken, feeling something at the edge of her fingers, tinges of energy as she turned to face him now lunging towards her through the air. If he struck her, she watched what happened to the boulder, it would be her end and in that brief moment she was powerless to stop him, a mortal... Faced off against the strength of an avatar. But something in Yuina surged, a will that had been building inside of her, a want to do more than she believed she could, the battle that she fought within herself everyday.[break][break]
The edges of her fingers held something, a flickering, crackling energy, and in that very moment, as Yuina longed for a sense of self more than anything... The very fabrics of space time ripped apart around her.[break]
All at once as space time broke and gave way to the energy of a Distortion, Yuina had never felt so relieved at the familiarity the energy brought. The haze, the heavily unfocused flickers of time bending, trees that were and weren't there, water that rose and disappeared from the ground through different portions of time... And as she looked, finding her assailant there with her, she felt something... Something more than just the overbearing sensations of the fabrics of space time ripping apart around her... They were ripping apart around her at her whim, because she willed it...[break][break]
Taking one step back, Yuina moved in the blink of an eye, her body phasing through the static of the distortion as if she were running, where he remained almost frozen in time, slowed to her perception... Was, was she in control?
