With the war so close Razz doesn't think its the best idea to bring in some green recruits. Rather focus on their current numbers and make them better. Yet with some of their more experienced having to aide with the WATER OPS going on it left their regular numbers lower. So Razz made sure to make set time aside for them to create new training. Some that would be helpful should they also assist with the problems down at Sea Mauville. [break][break]

"Morning Rangers," he greets the small group, "I am Captain Kingsman, and I thank you all for showing up for the training, what you learn here should either add to the basic building blocks you should've learned withing basic training, or for those of you who got it otherwise will help show you the building blocks"[break][break]

"There has been someone reported lost within these woods, you will use your pokemon to try and find them," he offers the 'simple' rules of the training mission. He stands at attention as he faces them, "Any questions?"

Roy had a reputation as a bit of a troublemaker, not because he was disruptive, but because he preferred to operate alone. He struggled to see his comrades as teammates rather than potential liabilities, which often slowed him down. However, he knew that if he wanted to be a Pokemon Ranger, he had to play the part beyond just wearing the uniform and armband. He needed to demonstrate that he could follow orders and deliver results, and he was confident this was within his skill set.

"Sir!"

Like Roy, the other cadets had no questions, believing that asking might undermine their perceived readiness. They needed to show they understood the task and what was required of them.

As the cadets called upon their pokemon for the training mission, Roy followed suit. He retrieved a poke ball from his pocket and summoned Balmung, his Charizard, who materialized just a few feet away.

Raziel clicks his tongue, not to order his pokemon but in some disappointment that there were no questions. This wasn't like the organization of his childhood where they were discouraged and getting more info was always helpful. [Break][break]

Had anyone asked he would've given them their first hint, pity. [Break][break]

Though when they all call their pokemon he can easily tell those that were hired via their training program And those who didn't. The Clefable and Lycanroc were definitely good trackers, though the Charizard, cloyster, and Skiddo make him raise a brow. [Break][break]

After the other trainees summoned their pokemon, Roy began to assess his competition. He glanced at a Clefable on one side and a Skiddo on the other. Despite the varied selection, he remained confident in his abilities. Both Roy and Balmung had grown up together, their bond akin to that of brothers. Much of their work before joining the rangers revolved around tracking, a skill set that would be crucial in an emergency scenario.

"Let's show them what we can do," Roy murmured to Balmung, gently rubbing his palm against the charizard's scales.

When the whistle blew, Balmung took to the air with a powerful thrust of his wings. As the others navigated the forest floor, Balmung soared above the canopy. While the dense leaves obscured his view, his keen sense of smell and sharp eyesight more than compensated for it. His ability to fly also provided a significant advantage in speed, allowing him to cover more ground and make multiple passes if necessary.

Roy stayed with the other rangers but felt the urge to move. He and Balmung operated as a single unit, each covering different terrains. Roy would search the ground while Balmung scouted the skies. This was their usual strategy, but now, Balmung carried the weight of the training exercise on his wings.

Razz watched from projector the multiple views from the drones he had following the rangers. It focused more on the rangers themselves over their pokemon so Roy's charizard wouldn't have one of it's own. One of the rangers, the one with the cloyster, tries to go off on their own. Though the one with the Lycanroc seems worried for them so decided to join the ranger trying to go off on their own besides that seems to realize that the cloyster wasn't the best for this type of job. [break][break]

The Ranger with the clafable seems to stop as her partner listens in to see if they couldn't find something. The fairy pokemon pointing north west as it seems to be hearing something. At the same time the Charizard, given it's vantage from above would notice the way some branches were unnaturally broken had it decided to go closer they may notice non-pokemon tracks and would've come back to their trainer to give the same direction. Had the rangers gone to where the Charizard was and seen the broken trail it might become evident that maybe their target was running from something. "What should we do now?" the ranger with the Skiddo ask clearly the least experience of the bunch.

Roy's irritation with his comrades was evident; they felt like little more than puppy dogs trailing behind him, slowing his progress. He was frustrated, his focus narrowing to the task at hand, until he noticed one of the many drones hovering above. The realization hit suddenly hit him; this was more than just a tracking exercise. His superior was evaluating not only his ability to locate the target but also how well he could work as part of a team.

Before he could voice his thoughts, Balmung swooped down with new intel. The charizard had spotted something unusual; a cluster of curious branches in the canopy not far from their location. Balmung conveyed this discovery to Roy with a subtle gesture of his hand and head, a movement that mirrored clefable’s just moments before. Recognizing the significance, Roy nodded in acknowledgment and turned to the other rangers. He quickly scanned the group before locking eyes with the ranger responsible for the skiddo.

"We should head northwest," Roy ordered, taking command of the situation and directing the team forward.

"Seems like the best way," Clafable's owner, Miyoko, speaks up and follows along to the next location with Roy Aker and skiddo's owner, Steve. Once they arrived all three would note the damage done to the land as it was clear a battle had gone on. "There looks like blood on the leaves, so I think our target got hurt," she informs the others and Steve seems visibly panicked. [break][break]

"Wait I thought this was all just pretend how did you-?" before Steve could finish she shows them a laminated red paper with 'You have found Human Blood' marked on it. In smaller letters asking 'use your judgement to guess what this means, we are listening in.' A reminder to all three of the trainees that they were being watched from above by the rotom drones. [break][break]

"You have a flier think you can look ahead and see where our target could've ran to? I doubt its far" she ask Roy, and if he were to comply his chairzard would see multiple things: [break][break]

Unlike the others, Roy remained unfazed by the sudden appearance of blood. Violence was nothing new to him, though the solution to their current predicament still eluded him. Miyoko and Steve's back-and-forth only added to the confusion, making it harder for him to focus on the task at hand. The added note served only to intensify his frustration. Still, Roy knew he had to show he could work as part of a team. When they called for a flier, he was ready to oblige.

"Give us another scan of the area, Balmung," Roy instructed. "Stay lower to the ground this time."

He had a gut feeling this approach would yield the results they needed. A few moments later, Balmung returned with new information.

"Did you spot any humans?" Roy asked. The charizard responded with a series of gestures, summarizing the three key areas he'd scouted. One in particular matched the description they were after; a trainer and their Rapidash, not far from their current location.

"This way," Roy said, relaying his champion's findings to Miyoko and Steve, ready to move the group forward.

"Right!" both rangers agree to follow Roy's lead and follow deeper into the forest until they encounter the trainer on the Rapidash. Steve looks excited about having found them, but Miyoko not so much. "Hey there civilian you alright?" Steve runs up to ask at least knowing his training about having to deal with people even if pokemon were what he should be better with. [break][break]

Said trainer seems to wake up and looks tiredly at the trainee rangers and looks confused about their approaching them. "Can I help y'all?" he questions with an accent as he slows his pokemon down to a stop. [break][break]

"Yeah we're here to rescue you from being lost!" [break][break]

"..." he looks back and forth, "... son do I look lost to y'all? Did I look injured or distressed? Did my pokemon?" he questions and it all three took a good look he did have a blue armband so its clear they were planted here as part of their test and giving them a few hints as to why he wasn't the one they were looking for. "Though I think I saw some pawniard on the hunt upstream," he offers before nodding to the trainees and heading out. [break][break]

Seems like the newbies didn't know that Captain Kingsman had a plethora of Pawniard and bisharp for his Ranger events.

Roy let the others handle the conversation, his mind consumed by the weight of his own failure. The moment Balmung heard the mention of Pawniards on the hunt, his eyes widened in alarm.

"Shit," Roy muttered under his breath, quickly turning to his partner. With a subtle nod, he refocused on Miyoko and Steve.

"Balmung saw exactly what this guy's talking about. It's got to be there," Roy said, not waiting for their agreement. Without hesitation, he mounted his charizard, determined to make up for lost time.

As they soared through the thick branches and foliage, the rough terrain scraped against both trainer and dragon, leaving them with minor cuts and bruises. Still, they pressed on. When they finally neared their destination, Roy dismounted in one swift motion, while Balmung surged ahead, placing himself between Roy and whatever awaited them up ahead.

The other rangers also spring into action and follow suit and while Steve is able to ride his Skiddo to quickly follow Roy in order to help out. Miyoko on the other hand stalls for a moment in order to contact the other two rangers that separated from them to search on their own. From the sounds of things they weren't to far from said location and informed the rest they would join soon. [break][break]

The the charizard easily being the quickest of the group Roy and him would be the first on sight to see the 4 pawniard and 3 bisharp that formed the 'attacking group.' While they all lacked their usual paint to make them less obvious to the trainees that they were Kingman's there all did have armbands of their usual colors, save blue who was a natural shiny Bisharp. Along side the Charizard would be a Megagarvior on their side looking rather tired so they move back to where their trainer was and finally goes back to normal, tired more from keeping the form too long over actually fighting. [break][break]

"Thanks buddy," someone calls from the trees hidden by it's leaves so it was easy to see why the Charizard didn't see them before. The Bisharp with a black band seems to be the one calling the shots as it seems to give an order two of the pawniard attempt to use METAL SOUND on the Charizard before the Bisharp claps it's hands together and making a hose with it's hands before it fires of a HYDRO CANNON.[break][break]

Thats when the first 2 rangers from the beginning come in as both the Lycanrock and Cloyster ram the Bisharp to see if they couldn't help the Charizard escape the attack. [break][break]

The twin pawniards unleashed their piercing sound attack, and the effect on Balmung was immediate and devastating. The Charizard clutched at his head, struggling to endure the overwhelming noise.

"Shi-" Roy responded, knowing what was coming next. He fumbled into his pocket, grabbing a smooth stone. With a swift motion, he thrust his fist outward, the marble in his grip now glowing with infinity energy.

His fellow Rangers retaliated, but none of them could stop the incoming Hydro Cannon from the Bisharp. The massive jet of water collided with Balmung just as his entire body erupted in a brilliant cerulean blaze. The water vaporized upon contact, turning into thick steam, while nearby leaves began to sear. Roy shielded his face from the intense heat with his free hand.

"Finish this," Roy commanded, his voice firm against the chaos.

When the Bisharp's attack subsided, the once-orange dragon now stood before them as a blackened, demonic figure. Blue flames surged from Balmung’s maw and ignited his body, encasing him in a fiery, comet-like aura. Without hesitation, he launched himself forward with reckless abandon, using Flare Blitz to bulldoze through the pawniards in a direct line toward his target. Upon reaching one of the Bisharp, Balmung unleashed a relentless Close Combat, delivering a flurry of powerful blows into the Steel-type adversary.

"A real power house that one is," the 'rescuie' comment before Steve had came to him as the battle goes. The Bisharp easily being overwhelmed by both the power of a Megaevolved pokemon and the powerful fire attack. Onyx was clearly on his last limb but he wasn't going to keep this battle going on for too long. That wasn't the point of this according to his own commander so the Bisharp calls for a retreat and the pawniard leave the area. [break][break]

It allows the rangers to regroup if nothing else as Miyoko seems to scold the other two for leaving. Steve coming out from the trees after having provided some 'first aid' with the man they were sent in to rescue piggybacking off him. "Good work team you did well..." [break][break]

"Sir aren't you missing a leg?" Steve questions clearly more familiar with the man they were rescuing. [break][break]

"Eh it was never real to begin with... I mean oooow ooooooh it hurts," the Ranger Teacher puts up the act he has been assigned again as he rubs his leg, everyone there should be able to note how one of them was missing from the knee down. Steve would head over to Roy soon after, "Think you're Charizard can provide a stable fly back to base for uhhhh proper care?" [break][break]

Whether or not Roy agreed eventually the Rotom Drone would come over to them with the captain's voice on the other end, "Thank you Rangers, you have completed the exercise, once everyone is back on base I'll be giving you your evaluation."

For a moment, Roy was lost in the weight of his failures. Both he and Balmung had reacted quickly, but it hadn’t been fast enough. He’d made the wrong decision before realizing the right one, and that gnawed at him. If he truly wanted to be a Ranger, he needed to get it right from the start; failure wasn’t an option. He couldn’t let this happen again.

Balmung powered down, returning to Roy’s side as the rest of the team approached. Roy took Miyoko’s scolding silently, offering no retort. Her words stung, but the disappointment he felt in himself cut far deeper. Steve finished checking on the injured man before returning to Roy.

“Yeah,” Roy muttered in agreement with Steve’s plan, turning to his fire-type. “Balmung, get him to safety. We’ll meet you there.”

After the crew carefully secured the one-legged man onto Balmung’s back, the charizard took to the skies, using a gap in the canopy to ascend. Balmung would rush the victim to safety, leaving Roy and the others to follow, sticking to the captain’s orders as they moved to regroup.
