Water levels are rising. The sea threatens to reclaim this place once and for all. Navy remembers, not so long ago, when Kyogre almost destroyed the whole structure. No one cared about Sea Mauville then. It was just another quaint place that just so happened to fall within Dewford county lines. He’d probably have died that day, were it not for Shred.[break][break]
Yet here he stands, one among an army of those hoping to rescue folk trapped within. He rides on his Kingdra, called Leviathan after an ancient name for Kyogre, and wonders how it came to this. A massive leak has sprung ahead of them. Beyond, folk cry out for help. Though there is danger, Navy does not seem concerned. This is good work. Simple work. Clean work. These people will not die, not while he is here. Not with AIRI WATANABE at his side.[break][break]
“Hattori. Plug that leak. Freeze it solid.” So he commands his shinobi, and so the shinobi obeys. Hattori opens his mouth and spews a long beam of cold that freezes the hole solid. It clears their path forward. Workers are trapped on a fleeting strip of land. Electric wires hang all around them, with the water only just low enough that they’re not being fried. Drawing closer via the water will not leave their Pokemon in good health.[break][break]
“What’s the plan, boss?” Asks the sheriff to the lady.

Sea Mauville has been left in shambles. Rangers, trainers, gym leaders, and many other League officials alike agreed to come together in hopes of saving as many lives as possible along with trying to reserve what is left of Sea Mauville, too. For the past 48 hours or so, Airi has spent the majority of her time assisting with various rescue teams and wherever she is not out in the fields, then she is stationed at one of the many medical stations scattered around the area, providing medical care to those in dire need of it. She is running off little sleep, but her adrenaline is allowing her to push through. Besides, there is no time for any of them to take even the slightest of nap when there are so many individuals in desperate need of help.

"Quick thinking, Navy." She tells her friend, flashing him with her alluring smile. It is nice to have a strong ally such as Navy accompanying her on this rescue mission. The two of them have been through a lot together and each time the duo manages to come out on top without any casualties. This event will not be any different. Airi's cold, cobalt orbs takes a careful glance around her surroundings as she takes a moment to fully assess the dangerous situations happening around them at the moment. The most pressing matter at the time has to be developing a plan to save the stranded individuals trapped on the small piece of land and preventing them from being electrocuted by the hanging electric wires.

She smirks at the word "boss" sounding off from Navy's lips. He does not have to tell her that he is taking advantage of "milking" this situation. Usually, whenever the two of them have to work together it is Navy, who takes the initiative and gives out all of the commands on spot. However, this current predicament requires Airi to step up to play the role of the fearless leader. And step up, she will do! "First, we need to secure those electric wires, then we will be able to evacuate the scene. I will take care of the electric wires, if you and you Pokémon can focus on evacuating everyone else. I will send mine to assist you, too." She takes three Poke Balls from around her waist, then tosses them into the air to release her Slowbro, Gardevoir, and Dragonite from their orbs. "Latte use your psychic powers to stabilize the electric wires. Ginseng and Cream, you two will assist Navy with evacuations." She orders her Pokémon. The three Pokémon nod their needs at their trainer's request. Latte uses her Psychic to straighten up the hanging wires, easing the risk of the electric wires from making contact with the humans nor the water. Cream and Ginseng then start to make their way towards the strip of land to help guide and assist the individuals. "I will join later, just need to make sure that everything is going well here for a while," she tells Navy as she continues to stay stationed on top of her Swampert. So far, so good.

“Good thinkin’. You’re as clever as you are beautiful.” Caught up in the moment, he does not have time to contemplate his words or how little he usually compliments women in his line of work. He’s too busy thinking of them as damsels, though he would never admit to thinking of them as such. Nor does he ever stop to contemplate how many of those damsels wield powers that could crush his spine.
The sheriff unclips another pokeball from his belt and throws out an unorthodox rescue Pokemon. Scholars of antiquity call this horse Glastrier. Navy, having had its companionship for almost a year now, calls him Slow Dancer. He is a perfect companion to Valkyrie, Navy’s preferred steed.[break][break]
Slow Dancer’s every step brings with it frosty breath. The water freezes before him, charting a path towards those caught on the last part of this level to remain dry.[break][break]
“It’ll be a slippery path!” Navy admits to the three caught in this predicament. “But hang onto Slow Dancer real tight and we’ll getcha out. Ain’t that right, Boss Lady?” His grin falters as he watches her shadow grow.[break][break]
“Look out!” This place was, after all, a preserve for ghosts.

His words catch her off guard. She feels her once pale cheeks becoming slightly warm and reddish from the impact of his words. Airi clears her throat, then turns her head away from Navy to hide her blushing face. She cannot help, but to wonder if he meant to say those words out loud to her or not. Either way, she makes the decision not to discuss them at the moment. There is no time for any distractions. The two of them have a rescue mission to complete and it requires a strict time limit in order to ensure everyone's safety.

The warmness kissing her cheeks soon fades away and Airi turns her attention back towards Navy just in time to see her friend summoning his majestic stallion sculpted from ice. Her dark blue eyes taking mental notes of the ice horse's unique and captivating ability to freeze a decent amount of water around them to form sturdy bridge made of ice. As usual, Navy is able to execute his orders without any problems. Airi shifts her head back towards her Gardevoir, making sure that she is still capable of holding up the wires with her psychic powers. "You're doing great, Latte. Keep it up." She encourages her. She then signals for Bean to swim them over to the icy bridge that Navy and his Pokémon managed to build. She carefully slides down from Bean's back, being careful not to slip on the slippery ice underneath her feet.

"Nice job, Navy. I knew that I could count on you," she smiles at him, giving him a quick pat on his back. "No need to worry, I am not too clumsy," she assures him even though she is also appreciative of his kind warning. "I do have another idea that should help us to get everyone else across the bridge a lot quicker. Of course, I will need Slow Dancer's help, too." She tells him, taking out another Poke Ball, then releasing her Leavanny. "Bean, I need you to use Hydro Pump and stay cause to Slow Dancer. Ginseng, I need you to use your Confusion to mold the water into the shape of a sled. Lastly, once the ice complete freeze the shape into place I will need Mint to use Slash to carve out some of the ice," she commands her Pokémon.

Bean shoots a powerful blast of water from his mouth, and Ginsing uses his psychic powers to mold the ice into the shape of a sled. The water molecules soon solidify and take the form of an ice sled. Mint then steps forth, using her powerful bladed arms to carve out some of the ice to make room for the humans to fit on the sled as well as to smooth out its edges to make it easier to glide across the ice bridge. "Alright, Navy... If Slow Dancer is willing, tie this rope to its staddle and have Slow Dancer to carry them across the bridge. You can lead them from the front, and I will bring up the rear," she tells him. Her Slowbro and Swampert make a quick dive in the water on opposite sides just in case something does go wrong, and someone ends up in the water. Cream will remind in the air to keep an eye on them from above, but also to offer Latte any assistance if she needs up needing it.

“Sounds good.” Though Slow Dancer will not don saddle or reins, save those offered by its true king, Navy and his Pokemon serve well enough. Hattori sits behind him, holding the rope and securing it around Slow Dancer’s robust waist. Luckily, there’s enough rope for it to not be a problem. A gentle squeeze of his boot against Slow Dancer urges the beast onward.[break][break]
“Alright, folks.” Navy tips his hat to the people trapped there. “Everyone onto the sled, just like the lady said. We’ll have you out of here in no time.” No one protests. They trust in the words of the Fighting Master and sit upon the sled. With a huff and a sharp exhale, Slow Dancer sets off, back towards safety.[break][break]
“And thank Arceus you’re here to cover us, Airi. Think the ghosts are starting to get antsy.” All around them, shadows begin to manifest into Gastlies and even a Spiritomb. All of them offer malevolent smiles, though none yet attack. They see too many battle-hardened Pokemon to attack willy-nilly, even if the air is thick with anxiety.[break][break]
“Don’t mind them, folks. Airi’s got us. We’re in good hands.”

"Thanks, Nav." Airi smiles at him before nodding her head at him. He does not know it yet, but his trust and confidence in her and her budding leadership skills are quite comforting to him. She shifts her attention towards the small group of civilians, giving them all a warm and endearing smile to help ease their spirits a little more. Now, it is up to Navy and Slow Dancer to escort them across the bridge as her Pokémon and she bring up the rear.

How could she forget about the lurking spirits? Airi nods her head at Navy before shifting her attention towards the fraid of ghosts. She inhales and exhales as she retrieves a Poke Ball from around her waist. The malicious smirks painted across their faces tell her that she will not be able to bargain with them. Therefore, she will have attempted the next best thing. "Chai, I need your help!" She calls out to her Blissey.

The Blissey lets out a joyous cheer, but her soft spirit soon hardens a bit at the sight of ghastly shadows wandering around in front of her. "We do not wish to hurt any of you. However, I cannot allow you to cause any harm the civilians around here. So, please. relax and enjoy this sweet melody," she says to them, a gentle smile curling around her full lips. "Serenade them with your angelic voice!" she orders her Pokémon. The Blissey starts to sing a beautiful lullaby, releasing colorful, sparkling musical notes out of her mouth and in the direction of the evil spirits to put them in a peaceful slumber.

Perhaps it is the silent gaze of the glacial steed or the soothing song of the Blissey, but the ghosts back away. Their eyes droop, and they disappear. A quiet prayer is murmured, covered by the roar of the folk on the sled. All that’s left is to keep going, and the Warrior endeavors to play his part. Slow Dancer plods along, leaving space for Airi and her Pokemon to follow.[break][break]
“Didn’t know you had a Blissey.” He smiles a sad smile. “My brother had one of those.” What he leaves unsaid is how Flora died, burned black beneath the earth by one who should have been an ally. She died for nothing, and he prays that Airi’s Blissey meets a kinder fate.[break][break]
All the trouble’s been handled. It’s just a matter of keeping on the course they have both charted. Slow Dancer freezes the water with every step. Navy can see how this, too, would be a steed worthy of the High King. Though it is nowhere as swift as Valkyrie, the destrier makes up for it in his sheer stamina and capacity to forge a path where there wasn’t one before.[break][break]
“Arceus, you’ve got a good team. Surprised Ollie hasn’t made you a captain. I’d sleep easier knowing one of Hoenn’s towns had you protecting ‘em.”

A deep sigh of relief escapes from Airi's ruby-red lips as she watches the exhausted spirits vanish right before her deep azure orbs. She did not want to waste any time fighting them off and it seems that she will not have to engage in war. At least, not this time. She thanks her Blissey for her assistance, then returns her back to her Poke Ball.

"There are a lot of Pokémon in my possession that you have not had the pleasure of meeting yet," she tells him with a soft smile spread across her lips. Her warm smile soon fading away as she takes notice of the sadness twinkling through his eyes for moment. The expression gleaming within his eyes softly telling her everything that she needed to know right then and there. "It sounds like your brother has good taste in Pokémon," she smiles, attempting to shift the focus towards a lighter topic.

Now that the civilians were no longer in close proximity to the electrical wires, Airi's Gardevoir uses her psychic energy to carefully place the poles back inside of the ground. The electrical wires still hanging slightly in some angles. The hanging wires should not be too difficult for a trained professional to prepare in due time. Airi smiles at Latte, thanking her for her hard work before returning her back to her orb, too.

"Thanks, Navy. I have put in a lot of work building up a solid team of Pokémon. Those fit for combat and those fit for medical emergencies, too," she shares with him, giving him a tender smile. "Me? A captain? I do not know about all of that, Navy. But you are not the first one who has made a similar comment to me," she laughs a bit and shakes her head. Perhaps, those around her are able to see more in her than she sees in herself at the moment. "Do you really think that I have want it takes to become a Captain," she asks him, confident that he will give her his honest opinion.
