She likes her father - he's a nice guy, has interesting stories to tell and is only a little embarrassing. Still, she wonders if that is enough to run an errand of this scale for him, and with only so much as a reward - from Slateport City to Rustboro City. Maybe she is being too capitalistic? Or materialistic? But ... Yeah. Okay. Fine. If he really wanted that one book from that one book store and couldn't just order it online like a normal person ... very well. She can make a day trip out of this! Rustboro City is a nice place to be, and it's his money, anyway.[break][break]

Humming a joyous tune, she exits the bakery with a croffle in one hand and is just on her way to the designated book store when ... huh? Now, the sight of Pokémon should really not startle her much, but there is some curiosity about the Lampent that is floating around. It looks ... aimless. Directionless. Kind of like her, only that in this moment, she should have a direction to go to (the book store), but finds herself going towards the Pokémon anyway.[break][break]

With her Hisuian Zorua by her side, transformed into very timid-looking Grookey hiding behind her leg, she looks up to the Lampent. "What're you doing? Seeing anything fun up there?"

A day of having a lunch break from the Galarian Embassy wasn’t bad as long as she could give her Polteageist and Sinistea some fresh air. The diplomat figures that they both could get something to eat from the bakery since the owner there was friendly to her ghosts every time Elise paid a visit to it. During their walk, the shiny Polteageist in his butler uniform notices a floating wild Lampent and he’ll be the first to float over to the ghost type Pokemon along with Anise the Sinistea following after her teacher.[break][break]

“Please wait-” But by the time Elise had told them to wait, the two tea ghosts were already on their way to greet the Lampent and the other young woman that was beside it. Luckily, she’s able to catch up to the pink teapot ghost and the Sinistea before she wonders if the Lampent was lost.[break][break]

“This Lampent must be the wild ones that live in the city.” A nod comes from the royal Galarian ambassador when she speaks to the young woman before the wild Lampent happily greets her. “I took care of it when it stopped by the embassy, so it’s also used to humans.”

Vespa can't help herself stiffening a little over the unexpected new entry to the scene, instinctively on guard after letting it down in face of the Lampent - similar with the Zorua-Grookey as she tries to make herself even smaller. But the tone of the stranger is friendly enough and there is curiosity why the Lampent didn't seem bothered with either of them, moreso with the other. Interesting ...[break]

Still. The student can't quite pretend to really grasp the situation, even as her favourite thing to do is spitting the nonsensical as truths, or at least as feasible realities. "Why would it do that?" she asks thusly, head a little tilted in curiosity. Stopping by something like an institution created by humans strikes her as a bit unusual for a Pokémon. Or maybe, she is wrong here? Hm ... That needs further investigation.

The question came with the wild Lampent’s motive to hang around the embassy while a Pokedex entry would say that it hangs around hospitals to suck out the sols of the living. “That is a good question.” Elise purports that the Lampent along with many of the wild ghost type Pokemon had come to her embassy for their reasons related to her help. “I suppose that the Lampent, like many other ghost type Pokemon, came to the embassy because they were looking for help on environmental issues.”[break][break]

She’d have all the other rangers who work in her purview, but the ambassador liked helping the ghost types there.[break][break]

“I can communicate with them just fine, of course. It’s a helpful asset for my work as a Ranger Captain to talk with them.” A nod came from the ambassador while the Lampent stays a bit close by her side. “My late mother trained me for it and it comes from my mother’s bloodline. An ability, along with spirit channeling, only through females born into my mother’s clan.”

Vespa pauses a little, letting the new information into her mind as she furrows her eyebrows a little in thought. "So ... nobody will be dying soon?" she mutters, going off of what she knows of Lampents from the various skim-throughs she did of some age-old PokéDex in her father's study. So that also means she won't be dying soon, right? Well - that's definitely a relief. "Or why would it hang here now? Err, float." The Zorua-turned-Grookey is sighing internally, hitting a small paw against her trainer's leg as she nibbles on the fabric of her pants, a clear indication that Vespa should probably shut her trap for a little.[break]

So, she does after lurking back to her feet for a moment, taking her time to instead deal with the array of information presented to her now. Which - makes more sense, now, she'd figure. Useful skills to have for sure - sadly not something she seems to be able to train in. In general, Vespa has been wondering if the other is a ranger or not, given the whole environmental issues and all. But captain? Huh ... "So, what kinda issues are they reporting on?" she inquires further, curious yet while they would even care. Or maybe, they are all a smidge above the average, overworked human being. She would certainly believe that. (Maybe a powerpoint presentation is due ...)
